Sebagai satu-satunya fasilitas uji pasca-iradiasi di Asia Tenggara, Instalasi Radiometalurgi (IRM) dituntut untuk siap melakukan evaluasi unjuk kerja bahan bakar nuklir, salah satunya adalah short pin PWR-fuel berisi UO2 yang saat ini sedang dalam tahap proses iradiasi. Salah satu upaya untuk yang dilakukan IRM adalah dengan mengembangkan teknik uji tak merusak, baik metode, analisis, interpretasi maupun inventarisasi terhadap potensi cacat yang mungkin terjadi secara sistemik pada short pin PWR-fuel berisi pelet UO2. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menginventarisasi metode dan data potensi cacat pada pelet UO2 untuk basis data pengujian pasca-iradiasi.Karakterisasi dilakukan terhadap lima sampel pelet UO2 pra-iradiasi dengan variasi kondisi sinter/mentah, baik/cacat dan perbedaan pengayaan uranium (3%, 4%, dan 5%) menggunakan metode uji visual dan radiografi sinar-X digital. Pengamatan visual mampu memberikan interpretasi awal mengenai kondisi permukaan pelet UO2. Radiografi sinar-X digital dioperasikan pada tegangan 150 kV dan arus 1800 µA untuk menghasilkan citra digital yang kemudian akan dilakukan proses image enhancement menggunakan image processor dalam rangka interpretasi pelet UO2. Pengujian menggunakan radiografi sinar-X digital dan proses image enhancement menambah informasi hasil interpretasi pelet UO2. Retak dan lubang pada permukaan pelet UO2 telah dapat dipetakan, begitu pula telah didapatkan analisis perbedaan pengayaan uranium yang dapat diamati dari grafik gray value. Untuk mengurangi potensi bahaya radiasi, dilakukan pemantauan radiasi secara rutin oleh pekerja. Untuk mengoptimalkan pemantauan radiasi tersebut, dilakukan pengembangan 3 (tiga) buah monitor radiasi dengan menggunakan 1 (satu) detektor radiasi Sintilasi (S) dan 2 (dua) buah detektor GM (GM dan GMT) yang nantinya dapat terpasang dan memantau radiasi secara real-time. Pengujian terhadap 3 (tiga) monitor radiasi yang dikembangkan dilakukan dalam penelitian ini untuk mengetahui keakuratan pengukuran masing-masing monitor radiasi. Pengujian yang dilakukan adalah pengujian regresi linear untuk mendapatkan model konversi dari satuan cacah per detik ke satuan mikrosievert per jam. Selain itu, dilakukan pengujian ANOVA untuk melihat apakah ada perbedaan signifikan antara pengukuran laju dosis dari ketiga monitor radiasi dibandingkan dengan surveymeter yang telah terkalibrasi. Pengujian Tukey HSD dilakukan untuk menguji masing-masing monitor radiasi hasil pengembangan dan dibandingkan dengan surveymeter yang terkalibrasi. Hasil pengujian regresi linear antara surveymeter (GS) dengan ketiga monitor radiasi didapatkan koefisien determinasi diatas 0,95. Pengujian ANOVA yang dilakukan didapatkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan rata-rata hasil pengukuran laju dosis radiasi yang signifikan dari masing masing monitor radiasi. Hasil pengujian Tukey HSD menunjukkan bahwa hanya salah satu monitor radiasi yang memiliki rata-rata nilai pengukuran laju dosis radiasi yang tidak berbeda secara signifikan dengan rata-rata nilai pengukuran laju dosis radiasi dari surveymeter terkalibrasi. Isotop strontium dapat dimanfaatkan menjadi bahan baku pembuatan baterai, tetapi strontium tersebut masih tercampur dengan hasil fisi atau isotop lainnya sehingga diperlukan proses pemisahan. Salah satu metode pemisahan strontium adalah dengan adsorpsi. Dalam penelitian ini, campuran TiO2-zeolit Lampung dievaluasi kinerjanya sebagai adsorben sehingga dapat digunakan untuk adsorpsi strontium. Zeolit Lampung awal diaktivasi menggunakan asam sulfat pekat untuk membersihkan pori-pori yang masih mengandung pengotor. Kemudian zeolit dicampurkan dengan TiO2 menggunakan metode stir casting. Adsorben TiO2-zeolit Lampung yang diperoleh kemudian dikarakterisasi menggunakan Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR), X-Ray Diffraction Spectrometer (XRD), dan Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM). Setelah itu dilakukan uji adsorpsi dengan model isoterm, termodinamika, dan kinetika. Terbentuknya TiO2-zeolit yang dicirikan menggunakan spektroskopi FTIR ditunjukkan dengan adanya puncak serapan Ti-O-Si pada zeolit Lampung setelah ditambahkan TiO2. Hasil analisis menggunakan XRD memperlihatkan zeolit Lampung berjenis klinoptilolit dan mordenit, serta TiO2 yang digunakan memiliki fase anatase. Hasil analisis menggunakan SEM mengindikasikan TiO2 tersebar pada permukaan zeolit Lampung. Model isoterm adsorpsi untuk adsorben TiO2-zeolit memenuhi model isoterm Langmuir. Mineral ini juga banyak dipelajari untuk pengelolaan limbah cair dari industri nuklir, termasuk di antaranya sebagai penjerap uranium dari limbah cair. Pengelolaan limbah cair yang mengandung uranium ini diperlukan pada setiap tahapan daur bahan bakar nuklir. Modifikasi zeolit, yang dapat dilakukan secara fisika atau kimia, telah dilaporkan dapat meningkatkan kemampuan adsorpsinya. Dalam penelitian ini dilakukan peningkatan kemampuan zeolit dengan menambahkan ammonium dihydrogen phosphate (ADP) sehingga terbentuk komposit ADP/zeolit untuk adsorpsi uranium. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mempelajari kemampuan komposit ADP/zeolit sebagai penjerap uranium dari limbah cair. Zeolit alam dari Lampung digunakan sebagai material awal. Material komposit dipreparasi dengan mencampurkan ADP dan zeolit dalam labu didih. Komposit ADP/zeolit yang diperoleh dikarakterisasi dengan XRD dan selanjutnya digunakan untuk percobaan adsorpsi uranium yang dilakukan dengan metode batch. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan mineral utama pada zeolit yang digunakan adalah klinoptilolit. Keberhasilan preparasi komposit ADP/zeolit dibuktikan melalui pola difraksi XRD. Hasil eksperimen ditunjukkan dengan kinetika adsorpsi uranium oleh komposit ADP/zeolit yang berlangsung cepat dan mencapai kesetimbangan kurang dari 16 menit. Model kinetika adsorpsi uranium oleh komposit ADP/zeolit model pseudo-orde kedua. Variabel pH menunjukkan adsorpsi uranium nitrat oleh komposit ADP/zeolit optimum pada pH 7. Komposit ADP/zeolit menunjukkan peningkatan kemampuan adsorpsi terhadap uranium dibandingkan dengan zeolit alam. Pada penelitian ini telah dilakukan verifikasi pengukuran radioaktivitas 153Sm menggunakan alat dose calibrator dengan lima tipe yang berbeda, yaitu dose calibrator Atomlab 100, Atomlab 300, Atomlab 400, Atomlab 500, dan Capintec CRC-tr5. Parameter verifikasi meliputi akurasi, presisi, kelinieran, Limit of Detection (LOD), dan Limit of Quantification (LOQ). Pada pengujian akurasi, alat dose calibrator Atomlab 300 ditetapkan sebagai alat standar untuk menguji akurasi hasil pengukuran alat yang lain. Hasil verifikasi menunjukkan bahwa semua alat ukur memiliki error akurasi kurang dari 3%, namun setelah dilakukan uji t, ternyata hanya dose calibrator Atomlab 400 yang nilai thitung kurang dari ttabel, sedangkan Atomlab 100, Atomlab 500, dan Capintec CRC-tr5 thitung lebih besar daripada ttabel. Pada uji presisi diperoleh hasil bahwa kelima tipe alat dose calibrator memiliki presisi yang baik. Kelima alat tersebut memiliki nilai kelinieran yang baik untuk pengukuran Sm-153 radioaktivitas 20-140 mCi. Nilai LOQ dose calibrator Atomlab 100 = 8,48 µCi, Atomlab 300 = 5,08 µCi, Atomlab 400 = 8,66 µCi, Atomlab 500 = 8,78 µCi, dan Capintec CRC-tr5 = 7,23 µCi. Nilai LOD Dose calibrator Atomlab 100 = 2,54 µCi, Atomlab 300 = 1,52 µCi, Atomlab 400 = 2,59 µCi, Atomlab 500 = 2,64 µCi, dan Capintec CRC-tr5 = 2,17 µCi. The environmental monitoring systems are equipped with various sensors, devices, networks and software to collect, process, monitor and display data on the environmental parameters. In that sense, this paper discusses the automation of river water quality monitoring in the area of the \"Čukaru Peki\" copper mine in Serbia. Until now, the water quality in the area is being monitored by taking and analyzing the water samples in the competent laboratory. The automation would improve the quality of monitoring multiple times. At the same time, the significantly cheaper (\"low cost\") devices can be used. These devices are cheaper and their quality is for a specific application completely at the level of those offered on the market as commercial pnes. The elements of environmental comfort are the air quality, thermal comfort, visual comfort, and sound comfort. The air quality in the room where people stay can significantly affect their concentration, i.e., the ability to work and study. The concentration of CO 2 in the room is used as an indicator of ventilation, that is, as an indicator of the air quality in the observed room. The thermal comfort defines a state of satisfaction with the thermal environment. The thermal comfort is achieved when the environment properties are such that they ensure the release of BAKAR 48 (2023) 1 COPPER body heat within the comfortable limits. This paper presents a part of the air quality and thermal comfort measurement results in the selected office in the Mining and Metallurgy Institute Bor from 2020 to 2022. Based on an analysis of the existing measuring points and concentrations of pollutants, measured in the local and national air quality monitoring network in the territory of the Bor agglomeration, as well as the possible impact of the new mining and metallurgical facilities in the company Serbia ZiJin Copper Bor, the additional locations, where the measurements were performed, were selected. The air quality measurement results show that there was no exceedance of the hourly and daily limit values for gaseous pollutants, nor were there an exceedance of the limit value for the mean daily concentration of lead in the suspended particles of the PM10 fraction, as well as the target values for the concentrations of cadmium and nickel in PM10. The arsenic concentration in PM10 at the measuring point of PU Bor was above the target annual value for 3 days. The maximum measured mean daily value of arsenic concentration in PM10 at this measuring point was 11.3 ng/m3 . Based on a complete insight into the results of air quality measurements in the Bor agglomeration in 2022, it can be concluded that the dominant share of concentration of SO2 , CO, as well as the concentration of arsenic, cadmium, and lead in PM10, originates from the gaseous pollutant emissions from the Copper Smelter Bor in the period when it operates. It was established that at the measuring point MMI Bor, the nitrogen oxide emissions from traffic mostly affect the level of nitrogen oxides in the air.
