Radio frequency identification has been deployed recently and there increases the application areas using its track and trace capability. ABL is one of them, in which company borrows money from financial service company (FSC) by using movable asset, such as inventory, as collateral. We proposed a registration method that is compatible to the current RFID standard, analyzed the SCM parameters that affect the loan condition of ABL, and summarized how companies design the SCM operation to take advantage of the financing scheme.","PeriodicalId":232862,"journal":{"name":"2012 IEEE International Conference on RFID-Technologies and Applications (RFID-TA)","volume":"7 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128771855","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

These tests were done in order to evaluate the feasibility of an identification/traceability of tags which size is constrained and supposed to be detected inside a delimited volume of 40×40×10 cm3. As the size of the antenna tag is supposed to be very small, we improve the detection range and volume of definition by designing different reader antennas. Reader antennas presented are of two types whether they are based on single (SL) or multiple loops (ML). Detection range was evaluated for planar antennas (3 SL and one ML). Volume of definition for the detection was estimated by designing two-level prototypes of ML antennas. Results are discussed about the optimization possibility of detection range and volume thanks to ML.","PeriodicalId":232862,"journal":{"name":"2012 IEEE International Conference on RFID-Technologies and Applications (RFID-TA)","volume":"27 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-11-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131656280","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The simulated tag consists of a single-electrode Inter-digital Transducer (IDT) with ten electrodes and three single-electrode reflectors, printed on the surface of a 128°YX Lithium Niobate (LiNbO3) piezoelectric substrate. FDTD modeling is done considering the multyphisics nature of the problem, by combining the electromagnetic and the elastodynamics theory in order to obtain the piezoelectric governing equations. Simulation results allow determining the time-position and insertion loss of SAW echoes, which enables the determination of the ID code stored in the tag.","PeriodicalId":232862,"journal":{"name":"2012 IEEE International Conference on RFID-Technologies and Applications (RFID-TA)","volume":"330 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-11-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122839835","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Nevertheless, the widespread adoption of RFID technology mainly depends on fixing the security and privacy concerns of this technology. Using a tagged object should not lead to the traceability of this object. This concern is a challenging issue that has motivated the proposal of several authentication protocols that attempted to fix the traceability problem. In this paper, we analyze the security of three authentication protocols that have been recently proposed by Morshed et al. [2]. Our security analysis clearly highlights important security pitfalls in these protocols that lead to their vulnerability against traceability. The proposed attacks require only several runs of the protocols while the adversary's advantages to trace the tagged object are maximal.","PeriodicalId":232862,"journal":{"name":"2012 IEEE International Conference on RFID-Technologies and Applications (RFID-TA)","volume":"20 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125503104","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The first proposed design has been mounted on AK3 Tagsys® loop, which is a small loop antenna already connected to the chip while the second approach is connected directly with RFID chip. The optimized designs have compact size and bandwidth for worldwide UHF RFID applications (860MHz to 960 MHz). The advantages and disadvantages of each approach will be also discussed. From the experimental results, these designs have the acceptable read-range for ETSI regulations of RFID (9.6m and 5.97m) and can be applied for real-world applications. However, the calibration between the simulation and the characterization in order to remove the tolerance of fabrication process should be executed in future steps to obtain the best performance by improving the proposed designs.","PeriodicalId":232862,"journal":{"name":"2012 IEEE International Conference on RFID-Technologies and Applications (RFID-TA)","volume":"5 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128963391","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Traditional UHF RFID readers use the same carrier frequency for both the forward and reverse links. In this paper, a UHF RFID reader that uses different central frequencies for the forward and reverse links is presented. Since the two links are separated in the frequency domain, a new channelization scheme is realized to accommodate twice as many readers in the same bandwidth as the traditional channelized signaling. The new reader adopts a heterodyne transmitter with a digital IF architecture instead of the commonly used homodyne transmitter and therefore, significantly reduces the complexity of the RF/analog section of the reader. Some measured results of the prototype system are shown in this paper to prove the validity of our method.","PeriodicalId":232862,"journal":{"name":"2012 IEEE International Conference on RFID-Technologies and Applications (RFID-TA)","volume":"77 5","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133391204","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The device comprises a switching transistor, controlled by a microcontroller, and a reverse-biased varactor diode connected to the transistor. The antenna's load is selectively modified by applying the appropriate DC voltage on the varactor. Antenna's structural mode is evaluated by measuring the backscattered modulated field for three states of the varactor. In contrast to prior art: i) the proposed device can be conveniently used to measure the structural mode of any antenna, via an RF connector, without the need to successively attach different loads to the antenna under test, ii) measurements can be performed under fading/changing conditions, as fading-effects are removed, as demonstrated herein. The device can be used to evaluate backscatter communications for different tag-loading. Furthermore, it could operate as an RF sensor, where the sensor's voltage “drives” the varactor's capacitance.","PeriodicalId":232862,"journal":{"name":"2012 IEEE International Conference on RFID-Technologies and Applications (RFID-TA)","volume":"12 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133855577","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
