Due to the complex distributions of delamination defects, it is hard to use one mode of guided waves to detect delamination defects with different distributions. Thus a multimode testing method is highly demanded. Apply semi-analysis finite element (SAFE) method to calculate dispersion curves and wave structure. Several mode-frequency points from dispersion curves will be selected to do finite element simulation for delamination defects with different sizes but the same depth of composite materials plates. Then analyzes the sensitivity of guided waves for different delamination defects. The sensitive modes are selected to do defects testing experiments for composite materials plate with different delamination defects. Therefore, pulsed eddy current thermography (ECPT) is selected for detection. In this paper, the finite element software was used to simulate the thermal characteristics of microcracks, and the data was extracted for simulation data analysis. Then principal component analysis(PCA), tensor CANDECOMP/PARAFAC de- composition(CP), and Tucker decomposition were compared horizontally, and the signal-to-noise ratios (SNR) of the three algorithms were obtained by experimental data. Experimental analysis shows that the characteristics of microcracks are very weak, the optimal extraction time is in the beginning of the heating stage, and the tensor algorithm can improve the SNR ratio of the microcrack effectively.","PeriodicalId":232572,"journal":{"name":"2019 Far East NDT New Technology & Application Forum (FENDT)","volume":"37 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134601250","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Therefore, it is necessary to accurately measure the relative positional relationship. The calibration method based on the robot itself has the advantages of simple operation and low cost, but the teaching accuracy is difficult to be guaranteed and the calibration accuracy is low. The four- point calibration method proposed in this paper was based on the calibration method of the robot itself. Adopted the principle of homogenization error to improve the calibration accuracy. The ultrasonic scanning experiment proves that the method can reduce the calibration error to 1mm and can effectively improve the accuracy of automated ultrasonic testing.","PeriodicalId":232572,"journal":{"name":"2019 Far East NDT New Technology & Application Forum (FENDT)","volume":"102 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126580798","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, the signal acquisition was performed using the 39° wedge and 16-element linear array probe with center frequency of 10 MHz. The morphology of regular cracks was characterized and compared by MTFM imaging in direct, half-skip and full-skip modes, respectively. The established simulation model was a 9.0 mm thickness aluminum plate containing a series of regular bottom cracks, whose lengths were all 2.0 mm and orientation angles were 0°, ±15°, ±35° and ±60°, respectively. The simulated results showed that direct, half-skip and full-skip modes were suitable for morphology characterization of regular cracks with orientation angles of 35°, 0° and -35°, respectively. The quantitative errors of crack lengths and orientation angles were no more than 0.22 mm and 0.8°, respectively. The measurement errors in experiment were within 0.28 mm and 0.9° for crack lengths and orientation angles, being in good agreement with simulated results. On the basis, the increment of element pitch is helpful for enlarging receiving area of ultrasonic beam and characterization range for crack morphology.","PeriodicalId":232572,"journal":{"name":"2019 Far East NDT New Technology & Application Forum (FENDT)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124407459","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Meanwhile, pulse power amplifier, resistance of transmission line, impedance matching network and coil equivalent impedance are not taken into consideration. In this paper, an excitation equivalent circuit model for the EMAT is established, effects of the output voltage and output impedance of pulse power amplifier, impedance matching parameters and characteristics of the excitation coil on the EMAT conversion efficiency are considered. Based on experiments, influences of connecting mode (series or parallel) of multi-layer coil, coil conductor diameter and number of coil layers on the EMAT efficiency with various frequencies are studied. Results show that for the multi-layer spiral coil EMAT at 1MHz and 2MHz, it is better to use parallel connecting method. The EMAT efficiency is rapidly decreased with the increase of number of coil layer when spiral coils are connected in series. When the EMAT coil is perfectly matched, the output impedance of the pulse generator, resistance of transmission line and the EMAT dynamic coil impedance (number of layers, wire diameter, excitation frequency) also meet special conditions, the EMAT excitation efficiency can be maximized.","PeriodicalId":232572,"journal":{"name":"2019 Far East NDT New Technology & Application Forum (FENDT)","volume":"17 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115243553","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

For the impact damage of quasi-isotropic carbon fiber composite laminates, a probabilistic damage imaging method independent of velocity is presented. Firstly, air-coupled ultrasonic transducers are used to scan in two orthogonal directions to obtain energy damage factors at different positions. Based on the probabilistic damage theory, the pixel points of each path are damaged probabilistically to determine the damage index of all paths. Finally, the damage indexes in each scanning direction are fused and the threshold value is introduced to realize the imaging of impact damage. The experimental results show that the damage factor combined with probabilistic damage imaging can better realize the localization and reconstruction of impact damage, and the imaging accuracy can be further improved by introducing the threshold value.","PeriodicalId":232572,"journal":{"name":"2019 Far East NDT New Technology & Application Forum (FENDT)","volume":"13 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127831727","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
