Liquid photopolymers are used in applications such as 3D printing, where they are deposited layer by layer and cured by exposure to light. Solid photopolymers, also known as photoresists, are used in applications such as lithography and microfabrication, where they are applied as a thin film and selectively exposed to light to create a pattern. The properties of photopolymer materials, such as mechanical strength, thermal stability, and chemical resistance, can be tailored by adjusting the monomer type, photo initiator type, and processing parameters such as the exposure time and intensity. Overall, photopolymer materials are a versatile and widely used type of polymer material that can be tailored for specific applications through the choice of monomer, photo initiator, and processing parameters. Photopolymer-metal composites based on metal foil deposition on additive manufactured substrates are a technique for creating composite materials with a combination of metal and polymer properties. This approach involves the deposition of a thin layer of metal foil onto a 3D printed polymer substrate, which is then cured using photopolymerization to create a composite material with unique properties.","PeriodicalId":232294,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Metallic Material Research","volume":"1 6","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"138949344","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It was found that the presence of vibration leads to an increase in the cooling rate of the castings. It was found that the higher the speed without vibration, the stronger the effect of increasing the speed when vibration was applied. Apparently, this effect is associated with additional mixing of the melt by free-floating crystals.","PeriodicalId":232294,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Metallic Material Research","volume":"5 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121415423","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The study uses a complex dynamic turning model with two degrees of freedom for the orthogonal cutting system. Tool holders made from different materials, including Al 5083, Al 6082, Al 7012, and a standard 4140 material, were subjected to chatter vibration to investigate their process damping capabilities. The study found that the standard tool holder 4140 allows for higher stable depths of cut and produces similar process damping values compared to the other tool holders. Finite element analyses (FEA) were performed to verify the experimental results, and the modal and FEA analyses produced very similar results. The study concludes that future research should investigate the effects of tool holders made from high alloy steel alloys on process damping. Overall, this paper provides important insights into the effects of tool holder materials on chatter vibration and process damping in turning operations, which can help in the design of more efficient and effective cutting systems.","PeriodicalId":232294,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Metallic Material Research","volume":"35 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134292365","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Pipes used in homes, the service sector, and industry are responsible for transporting different types of fluids from one place to another. Considering the faucet design, the SolidWorks program was used for 3D studies. In-faucet flow analyses were performed using Ansys Fluent, a computational fluid dynamics program based on the finite volume method. In the analyses, lime particles were chosen. At the end of the analysis, the amount of erosion in the faucet was obtained.","PeriodicalId":232294,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Metallic Material Research","volume":"41 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123534892","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Readily availabledrugs are getting ineffective by each passing day as the mutation is veryfast in these pathogenic microbes resulting in drug resistance. The growingresistance of bacteria necessitates the development of new and effectivecompounds of desired characteristics that could bar the rapid development ofbacterial cell inside of the host body. Along with cellular resistance for clinicalantibiotics, co-bacterial infections during microbial attacks (viz. virus, fungus,protozoans etc.) also demand for some novel antibacterial drugs having highefficacy and minimal side effects on human body. These antibiotics shouldalso be compatible with remedies ongoing for core microbial infections. So,in demand of search for effective antibacterial moieties, the scope of transitionmetal complexes as drug gives a good signal against the pathogenic bacteriaby inhibiting their growth. The action of metal complexes on bacterial cellmay be due to impremiablity, enzymatic interruptions, ribosomal interactions,disturbance in the path of protein synthesis, denaturing of genetic materialsetc. inside the cell. Metals in complexes may interrupt the lipophilisity throughthe bacterial cell wall. Inclusion of metal ions in organic moieties behavingas ligand delocalize π-electrons upon the entire chelate ring and this chelationresults in overlapping of ligand orbital and partial sharing of (+)ve chargeof metal ion with donor atoms. These structural modifications in metal andorganic lone pair donor species are the supposed reasons for their enhancedantimicrobial activities against pathogenic microbes. The present reviewfocuses on the impact of recently synthesized, well characterized mono andbinuclear transition metal complexes of Cu ions that have the potential to be the drug of the decade in medicinal inorganic chemistry for treating the bacterial diseases.","PeriodicalId":232294,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Metallic Material Research","volume":"34 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-11-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130239239","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The temporal andspatial variation of arsenic was evaluated by examining its concentrationsbetween March 2015 and December 2021. Values between March 2015and December 2019 were evaluated as pre-pandemic, and values betweenMarch 2020 and December 2021 were evaluated as post-pandemic. Theresults were compared with national and international standards and thechronic and cancer risks were calculated for adults. When the 7-yeargeneral averages were examined, it was seen that the highest concentrationwas 0.0256 mg/L at the 8th Station, and the lowest concentration was0.0182 mg/L at the 1st Station. The reason why the highest value is atthe 8th station was that the wastewater of Nilüfer and Bursa OrganizedIndustrial Zones was discharged to Bursa West Wastewater TreatmentPlant before this station. After the pandemic the raises in concentrationswere observed at all stations, except for the 3rd Station. This shows thatthe pollution load had increased in general during the pandemic. However,it was estimated that there was a decrease in the pollution load of theindustrial wastewater coming to the 3rd Station, which was located afterthe Eastern Wastewater Treatment Plant of the City. It was observed thatall stations examined were higher than drinking water standards and lowerthan irrigation water standards according to WHO and Turkish NationalStandards. All measuring stations were greater than 1 of the hazardquotient (HQ) values. In terms of human consumption risk, all stations hada chronic and carcinogenic risk according to the values before and afterthe pandemic. After the pandemic conditions, the HQ order of the stationswas 8>10>7>9>2>6>4>1>3. In general, post-pandemic HQ values hadgenerally increased and the risk of cancer had increased.","PeriodicalId":232294,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Metallic Material Research","volume":"37 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-08-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127049936","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Producing highquality metal powders to satisfy increasing demand for advanced materialsis of very high importance. There are a few numbers of standard powderproduction techniques. An acidic leaching has been applied in presentresearch. Sulfuric acid has been used to leach nickel wastes of platingindustry. To produce nickel oxide powder furnaces with no protectingatmosphere and to produce pure nickel powder, tube furnace with hydrogenatmosphere has been applied. Variables performed in the research aretime, density of sulfuric acid, and amount of hydrogen peroxide. Toanalyze powders produced, EDS element analysis and to determine size ofpowder particles, SEM has been applied.
