In this Network, the nodes communicate in multi hop fashion with unconditional cooperation among the nodes. However in reality some nodes are selfish in their behavior, thus affecting the routing performance. Hence it is necessary to eliminate selfish nodes in the routing path to increase the routing performance. An alternative method to increase the routing performance is to encourage selfish nodes to become a cooperative node by providing appropriate incentives to selfish nodes. This paper discusses a methodology to provide incentives in the form as rewards. Rewards are formulated using Markov Decision Process. By using this methodology the cooperative node in the routing path expected to maximize the reward value for each decision epoch. The proposed Reward based AODV uses this reward value to establish cooperative route between source and destination node. The proposed routing algorithm is simulated and the simulation results prove that Reward based AODV routing algorithm is quite effective than AODV.","PeriodicalId":229600,"journal":{"name":"2014 Recent Advances in Engineering and Computational Sciences (RAECS)","volume":"2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-03-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128501747","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is a group of swaras (musical notes) comprising of many features and qualifiers and is described as melodic concept which is led to blossom by the musician. This paper proposes a novel method for identification of raga in Hindustani music. We have identified different key parameters for raga identification and fuzzy sets have been used for its representation. Soft computing techniques are being used for recognition of raga. This work demonstrates a modified approach by combining parameters of music with soft computing.Raga recognition has been analysed through soft computing and evaluation of the proposed technique shows that reasonable accuracy has been achieved.","PeriodicalId":229600,"journal":{"name":"2014 Recent Advances in Engineering and Computational Sciences (RAECS)","volume":"09 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-03-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129478194","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

One of the good solutions to this problem is clustering. Energy efficiency semi-static clustering (EESSC) protocol is an energy aware semi-static clustering protocol in which clustering is done based upon remaining energy. It considers all nodes in static mode. In this paper, a new routing protocol based on sink mobility i.e. improved EESSC (IEESSC) is proposed. This protocol is simulated and compared with EESSC and LEACH based on parameters stability period, network lifetime and middle node death (MND). Simulation results show that proposed protocol has better results than EESSC and LEACH.","PeriodicalId":229600,"journal":{"name":"2014 Recent Advances in Engineering and Computational Sciences (RAECS)","volume":"104 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-03-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132868383","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The presented topology has the highest number of levels for a given number of dc sources and power electronics switches. The conventional configurations for multi-level inverter are neutral point clamp (NPC), flying capacitor (FC) and series/cascade H-bridge. The proposed topology does not require any clamping diodes as they are needed in NPC. Apart from this there is no requirement of capacitor bank as compare to flying capacitor schemes where for nine-level inverter, twenty eight capacitor banks per phase are required. The proposed inverter scheme requires only four DC sources whereas series/cascade H-bridge nine-level inverter requires at least six DC sources. Extensive simulation study of the presented topology is done for the complete modulation range.","PeriodicalId":229600,"journal":{"name":"2014 Recent Advances in Engineering and Computational Sciences (RAECS)","volume":"53 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-03-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133407241","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In such fluid system, time harmonic waves of two distinct modes (wave numbers) exist. When an incident wave with a particular wave number encounters the irregular bottom, it is partially reflected as well as partially transmitted into waves of both wave numbers. As a result, some of the energy is transferred from one to another wave number. Perturbation analysis followed by Fourier transformation is used to study the reflection and transmission phenomena. Reflection and transmission coefficients of both modes are estimated up to the first-order. These coefficients are obtained in integral forms and depend on the bottom profile. One special type of shape function is considered to evaluate the related coefficients. These coefficients are shown in graphical forms to demonstrate the effects of some physical parameters like number of ripples, surface tension on the transformation of wave energy between the waves of two different modes. Moreover, a comparison has been made between the present results and the experimental results available in the literature.","PeriodicalId":229600,"journal":{"name":"2014 Recent Advances in Engineering and Computational Sciences (RAECS)","volume":"46 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-03-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115658194","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The digital pattern is generated from multiple biometric features in a strategic matter so that the identification of individual subject can be done. The features from iris image and fingerprint image are strategically combined to generate the pattern. This digital pattern was embedded and extracted from the host image and the experiments were also carried out when the image was subjected to signal processing attacks. Experimental results indicate that the insertion of this digital pattern does not change the perceptual properties of the image, and the digital pattern survives signal processing attacks and can be extracted for unique identification.","PeriodicalId":229600,"journal":{"name":"2014 Recent Advances in Engineering and Computational Sciences (RAECS)","volume":"16 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-03-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122110276","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
