By considering different weights of the items, weighted frequent items mining can discover more important knowledge compared to traditional frequent patterns mining. In this paper, we presented a new algorithm called count-MH to discover weighted frequent items over data streams, the proposed method is based on weighted factor and hash function where its space complexity is, the processing time for each item is in average. Various orthogonal projections are investigated. Some mixed approximation results are established. As an example of their important applications, a mixed spectral scheme is proposed for two-dimensional non-isotropic heat conduction equation. Its convergence is proved. Achieving high performance on CPUs or GPUs requires careful consideration of their different architectures, which challenges the capability and skills of programmers. In order to overcome the portability problem, OpenCL, a free cross-platform programming standard, is proposed by Khronos Compute Working Group. However, the performance of OpenCL-based programs has not been thoroughly studied yet. Therefore, in this paper, we first design OpenFFT-Bench, an FFT application with OpenCL-based FFT and OpenGL-based real-time spectrum visualization as the benchmark. We evaluate its performance on four OpenCL programming platforms including NVIDIA CUDA, ATI Stream (GPU), ATI Stream (CPU), and Intel OpenCL. Characteristics of OpenFFT-Bench are investigated with multiple FFT sizes. Nodes communicate outside the cluster through a centralized node that is called a Cluster Head Gateway (CHG) [1]. MANET is a dynamic multi-hop network, which is established by a group of mobile nodes on a shared wireless channel. The shared medium and the multi-hop nature of the wireless ad hoc networks pose fundamental challenges to the design of an effective resource allocation algorithm to maximize the aggregated utility of flows, maintaining basic fairness among the multiple flows. An elected Cluster Head Gateway (CHG) is assigned for communication with all other clusters. The centralized Cluster Head Gateway can become a bottleneck and possibly cause a lower efficiency for the clustering system. In this paper we propose a mechanism in which communication outside the cluster is distributed through separate Cluster Head Gateways. We will discuss how the overall averaged efficiency for the clustering system increases considerably. We also show that the increase in overall averaged efficiency is by the increase/add Cluster Head Gateways. For example, churn, upselling and appetency are often considered together, and decisions on how to retain customers, and to promote or to upgrade services are associated. Instead of predicting them separately as univariate models, we propose an iterative procedure to model multiple responses prediction into correlated multivariate predicting scheme. This proposed method combines Partial Least Squares (PLS) method and logistic regressions, in which the former is used to extract the mutual information from correlations, while the latter is utilized to refine every single response prediction through auxiliary information from PLS. This hybrid regression modeling is implemented iteratively to refine the prediction gradually. More importantly, to exploit the positive exclusive property (i.e., positive for one response means negative for the others) between multivariate responses, before every round of iteration, all the positive predictions from the different responses compete each other and only the highest values are kept for positive predictions and the remaining is changed to negative. One common model of study is the convergence of these systems, along with interclouds to a unified global computing resource. Despite similarities between grids and clouds, there are a number of fundamental differences that make this convergence process harder. For example, they negatively affect the possibility of a seamless intercloud federation on the path to convergence. Resource sharing in general and related communication methodologies, such as information dissemination, matchmaking, and so on, are also integral elements in this convergence process. Although the iterative schemes are semi-implicit, which can be computed explicitly and in parallel, in combining with the boundary conditions. We introduce a case study focusing on the development of a novel algorithm in computational electromagnetics, illustrating several challenging areas for algorithm developers where cloud-based architectures can deliver enhanced productivity and potentially save costs. The development, verification and tuning of our algorithm have all been assisted by cloud-based technologies. Our preliminary results both demonstrate the potential of the algorithm to solve the problems accurately, and of cloud-based architectures to accelerate the development and verification process. The main problem addressed by this research is the no show rate (nearly 50%) of the clinic. There are two goals in this project. One is to increase the staff utilization; the other is to decrease the waiting time. We study two potential methods to solve this problem. One involves using multiple resources for every visit; the other involves overbooking the patients. One simulation model is an overbooking model in which the interarrival times are controlled for each type of patients. By increasing arrival rate of patients, the waiting time, the total number of served patients and the utilization of staff are increased. We need to trade off in order to choose the best arrival rate for the clinic. The second model involves using multiple resources for every visit.
