{"title":"A qualidade paisagística da Paisagem Urbana Histórica de Rabat","authors":"Simone Marques de Souza Safe","doi":"10.29327/248949.20.20-5","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.29327/248949.20.20-5","url":null,"abstract":"This article aims to meet two objectives that complement each other: to assess the importance of open spaces throughout the urban process of the city of Rabat, in order to classify the capital of Morocco as Historic Urban Landscape and not just as UNESCO World Cultural Heritage, while it seeks to understand how technological tools such as remote sensing can contribute to the interpretation, classification, analysis and future monitoring of the city as a \"living\" organism and, therefore, dynamic, complex and a product of human interaction over the geographic and natural environment. Through the study case of Rabat, an example that demonstrates the valorization of diversity by UNESCO in the recognition of a cultural asset as a world heritage, it is proposed to discuss the importance of how urban management should consider the environmental aspect. The hypothesis brought in this article proposes that the inclusion or maintenance of the green extract in the urban structure, part of a system of open spaces, can positively contribute the quality of life of the population, therefor should be better understood, classified and used as an indicator for urban management. For this, a brief literary survey was carried out, collecting articles and research papers that present the soil-landscape relationship as the theme, identifying how it was used to discuss the guiding questions, as well as to refute or corroborate the hypotheses raised, in order to achieve the proposed objectives. With the bibliographic survey, which presents this mutual relationship as the theme, it will be possible to identify the varieties of use and application, observing the objectives of each research and how they were achieved through the use of the soil-landscape relationship. Many studies seek through the relationship between soils and the landscape answers about the characteristics of the place in which they are inserted, layout and composition of vegetation, properties in common with other similar areas, in addition to the evolutionary degree of surfaces and their characteristics. Thus, the research aimed to study the temporal and spatial distribution of surface temperature in the city of Belo Horizonte, identifying the possible relationship of heat cores with the location of villages and settlements, which occupy 5% of the territory. Images from the Landsat-8 satellite were used between the years 2013 and 2020, from which the surface temperature was calculated for a set of 29 different dates. The results indicated that not necessarily the villages and settlements appear as significant thermal cores, having been more associated with warehouses and structures with extensive metallic coating, which were up to 8.7°C warmer, on average, than the surrounding surfaces.
