The study reveals that public policies are not effective in Nigeria. The paper also reveals the consequences of public policies failure in Nigeria. The study analyzed the concept of public policy and economic underdevelopment. The study concludes that constant changes of government in Nigeria, high level of corruption among government officials of these public policies agencies among others affected the smooth operations of public policies in Nigeria. The study therefore recommends that there should be continuity in public policy implementation even where there is change in government as government is a continuum; and parochial and primordial interests should be avoided during policy formulation and implementation in the country. There should be capital punishment in the country constitution to address the issues of corruption in Nigeria.","PeriodicalId":225602,"journal":{"name":"Pakistan Social Sciences Review","volume":"206 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-03-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132469931","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The study analyzes the meanings of sentences and phrases used by content creators on TikTok, as well as various figurative devices employed. A qualitative method was used to conduct the analysis, and the selected content was categorized under various stylistic analysis categories, including semantic parallelism, semantic deviation, lexical deviation, lexical parallelism, and code mixing. Neologism, lexical parallelism, and code mixing were examined under lexical stylistics analysis. Two content creators and five videos from each were selected for the analysis. The study found that both content creators used semantic and lexical parallelism to emphasize specific ideas and create humorous effects in their videos. Additionally, specific stylistic devices were used to convey subliminal messages, including taunting politics, highlighting an increase in robbery cases, and criticizing married life.","PeriodicalId":225602,"journal":{"name":"Pakistan Social Sciences Review","volume":"37 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-03-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134084094","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A quantitative research technique was utilized to gather numerical data from a sample of 371 houses in the municipality that were randomly chosen. The data were analyzed using a one-way ANOVA to look for variations in the average evaluations of food sufficiency among various landholding categories. The research used the ANOVA, Welch, and Brown-Forsythe tests, as well as Tukey HSD post hoc analysis, to compare the size of the land in Katha among five food sufficiency groups. The findings suggested that there may be some variance in mean land size among food sufficiency groups, with the \"Surplus\" and \"3 months\" groups probably differing. The hypothesis testing did not discover any notable differences in the mean size of land across the various groups. The variance in land area that is related to differences between the categories is represented by the sum of squares between groups, degrees of freedom, and mean square, whereas the variance in land area that cannot be explained by differences between the categories are represented by the sum of squares within groups, degrees of freedom, and mean square. The study argues that rather than increasing the amount of land holdings, measures to improve food security should focus on boosting food storage and enhancing access to food. But it's also important to consider how community power dynamics could affect resource distribution, as well as the underlying social and economic structures that support inequality.","PeriodicalId":225602,"journal":{"name":"Pakistan Social Sciences Review","volume":"66 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-03-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114664416","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
