This performance improves by adding different percentages of naturally prepared activated carbon from pomegranate peels. ZnSnO 3 is considered an attractive cathode material for energy storage, which shows a specific capacitance of 115 F g -1 at 1 A g -1 , while the optimum added percentage of the activated carbon is 5%AC+95%ZnSnO 3 , which exhibits 312.5 F g -1 at the same current density, which considered about three times more than that of the ZnSnO 3 , with capacitance retention of 66% after 2000 cycles at the current density of 10 A g -1 . The practical hybrid device shows a specific capacitance value of 61.6 F g -1 at 1 A g -1 , the specific energy of 22 Wh kg -1, and specific power of 1077 W kg -1 with capacitance retention of 50% of the initial capacitance after 2000 cycles at a current density of 10 A g -1 . As a result, ZnSnO 3 and its composite with cheap and natural materials are considered promising supercapacitor electrodes. The Nyquist plots show a semicircle in the high-frequency region and a near-vertical line at low frequency. The near-vertical line in the low-frequency region indicates the good capacitive of the composite electrode.","PeriodicalId":22390,"journal":{"name":"The Bulletin Tabbin Institute for Metallurgical Studies (TIMS)","volume":"49 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"87862955","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Variables investigated are electrode pressure, current, and time of welding. Mechanical and metallurgy l properties are measured through microstructure, shear tensile and hardness determination. It is shown that the effective electrode pressure in this combination of FSS and CS was 2 bar (0.2MPa). It is noted that the current of welding is the effective variable on weld properties. The highest strength of weld is achieved at 3.4 KA. Rising welding time and welding current up to certain limit raises the strength of spot welded joint, after this limit, the strength of welded joint reduces. The microstructure of nugget obtained is martensitic structure. The fracture of spot welded joint is characterized by intergranular fracture in side of ferritic stainless steel sheet and the fracture mode is button pullout. The highest values of micro hardness distribution are observed at locations where carbides precipitated beside nugget martensitic structure.","PeriodicalId":22390,"journal":{"name":"The Bulletin Tabbin Institute for Metallurgical Studies (TIMS)","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"88924141","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The mixed nano-composite powders were cold compacted under 600MPa, then sintered at 1450°C for 90 min. The microstructure and chemical composition of the Ti-12Mo/Al2O3 powders, as well as the fabricated composites, were investigated by both SEM and X-ray diffraction. It has been observed form the SEM studies of the sintered samples that the Al2O3 and Mo particles were homogeneously distributed all over the Ti matrix. All the composites were evaluated by measuring their density, hardness, and wear resistance. The results revealed that the addition of 12 wt. % Mo to pure titanium improves its density due to its high density over than that of the Ti and the good adhesion between them, while the addition of Al2O3 decreases the density of the Ti-12Mo nano-composite. Not only the density of the Ti was improved by the addition of Mo, but also the hardness and wear resistance were also increased. Regardless of the decreasing in the density of Ti-12Mo nano-composite by increasing the Al2O3 wt. %, the hardness and wear resistance were improved up to 5 wt. % Al2O3.","PeriodicalId":22390,"journal":{"name":"The Bulletin Tabbin Institute for Metallurgical Studies (TIMS)","volume":"127 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"75832153","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
