Methods: This is a methodological and educational intervention study. The scale was developed by the researchers. The scale was first administered to 151 mothers of children who were attending 2 kindergartens in the province of İzmir (n = 151). The scale was then administered to 30 mothers to measure the invariance of the scale against time. After Ethical Committee approval was taken and the necessary permissions were taken from the institution the study was performed in and from the investigators, the scales were administered before education and again after education. Results: Content validity was used to determine the validity of the scale. No differences were found between the opinions of the experts ( P = .810). During the reliability study of the scale, the total score correlations of the 30 items on the scale were examined, and the items that were below the .20 correlation limit were removed from the scale. This left the scale with 18 items. The internal consistency analyses of the scale determined a Cronbach’s alpha value of 0.74, an accept-able level of internal consistency. A significant relationship between the test–retest ( P = .000) was found for the invariance of the scale against time. The mean PDPAS score rose after the training. Conclusion: This scale is a valid and reliable scale for Turkish society.
