In order to select sports instructors with basic job competencies required in the field, it is necessary to increase the validity of the national examination standards for sports instructors. A virtuous cycle structure must be created by appropriately measuring practical competency in the field, updating the examination criteria based on these results, and increasing the relevance and accuracy of the criteria and practical competency in the field. In addition, it is necessary to periodically re-examine and evaluate the practical competencies of the field according to the changes of the times and environment, actively change the examination criteria and reflect them in the national examination.CONCLUSIONS The validity and reliability of the national examination standards for certified sports leader must be improved in order to nurture competent exercise experts equipped with academic, professionalism, and job performance skills required in the field of physical education and sports. As a way to increase validity, problem-solving standards and item development standards should be prepared, and job performance competency evaluation should be conducted in order to nurture competent sports leaders with practical capabilities.","PeriodicalId":22264,"journal":{"name":"The Asian Journal of Kinesiology","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"75901300","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A total of 105 papers were used by searching. For overseas studies, Pub med and Scholar were used, and only SCI and SCIE papers were collected and 129 papers were searched.RESULTS First, according to the comparative analysis of research trends by domestic and foreign fields, physiology (61%), kinematics (24.8%), and rehabilitation (14.2%) were found in the order of domestic, whereas in foreign countries, kinematics (34.9%) and physiology (33.3%) and rehabilitation (31.8%), a study with a relatively even distribution was conducted. Second, in the comparative analysis by study subject, domestic literature was the highest with 68.7% of studies targeting women, and was conducted separately by various age groups. Foreign fields, 40.9% of studies conducted by gender were found, and there were many studies that considered the characteristics of musculoskeletal disorders and metabolic diseases rather than gender. Third, looking at the comparison by research variable, studies have been conducted on various topics in physiology and kinetic dynamics. However, while domestic studies have focused on changes in body composition, foreign studies are actively conducting research on muscle function, musculoskeletal disorders, and rehabilitation.CONCLUSIONS In summary, it is judged that active research in the field of kinematics and rehabilitation should be conducted for more diverse subjects in the field of Pilates.","PeriodicalId":22264,"journal":{"name":"The Asian Journal of Kinesiology","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"81396867","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The RT group trained between 65-70% one repetition maximum (1RM) and the LI-BFRT group trained at 30% 1RM while wearing pressure cuffs inflated to 100-120% of brachial systolic blood pressure (bSBP). Relative appendicular skeletal muscle mass (ASM/weight), isokinetic strength and power were tested pre and post 8 weeks of training.RESULTS Upper limb ASM/weight increased significantly in the LI-BFRT and RT groups (both p < 0.001). Only LI-BFRT showed significant difference compared with the CON group (p < 0.01). Lower limb ASM/weight improved in both the LI-BFRT (p < 0.01) and CON (p < 0.01) groups without group differences. Lower limb flexion strength increased in the LI-BFRT and RT groups (both p < 0.01), with differences between groups (p < 0.01, LI-BFRT > RT > CON). Only RT increased extension muscle strength (p < 0.05). Lower limb flexion and extension power improved following LI-BFRT (p < 0.05 and p < 0.01, respectively), significantly greater than RT in both flexion (p < 0.001) and extension (p < 0.01).CONCLUSIONS LI-BFRT may be as, if not more effective than RT for increasing muscle volume, strength and power in middle-aged women.","PeriodicalId":22264,"journal":{"name":"The Asian Journal of Kinesiology","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"87332228","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Therefore, the purpose of this study was to identify the types and mechanism of injury in recreational surfers. We also aimed to determine the differences in the type and mechanism of injury according to surfer’s characteristics (sex and surfing experience).METHODS A total of 227 participants (149 male and 78 female) were recruited and analyzed for this study. To identify the surfing-related injuries, we investigated the types, locations, season, and mechanism of injury using a questionnaire.RESULTS The highest frequency of injury was found in skin, followed by muscle and tendon, and joints. There were not significant differences in the injury types according to the sex and surfing experience (≤12 versus >12 months). An upper limb and arm injury was significantly higher in male (p<0.01) and the torso injury was higher in female (p<0.05). Moreover, the less experience (≤12 months) of surfing was associated with higher rates of injury caused by falling or collision with other surfers.CONCLUSIONS To the best of our knowledge, this is the first epidemiological study presented the surfingrelated injury among Korean population. We found the injuries mainly occurred on the skin, and muscle and tendon. In addition, our results suggest that surfers with insufficient experience may be vulnerable to injuries from falls and contact with other surfers. Consequently, these epidemiological data may be utilized to prevent and manage the injury in surfers according to surfer’s characteristic and experience.","PeriodicalId":22264,"journal":{"name":"The Asian Journal of Kinesiology","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"87448136","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
