Animal material consisted of a total of 248 head of Red Karaman ewes in different flocks maintained in the villages of Alican (n= 50), Boyuncuk (n= 50), Bozbulut (n= 48), Çiçekli (n= 50) and, Yukarısızma (n= 50). Red Karaman ewes were sheared using shearing scissors at the beginning of June and beginning of July. Each of body weight of ewes after shearing and ewes' greasy fleece was weighed using electronic digital weighing scale. Fleece samples were taken from area of the last rib on the right shoulder of 12 head of ewes in each flock. Then, analysis of clean fleece percentage was performed in the laboratory. For Red Karaman ewes, the effect of shearing age on greasy wool yield was not significant but the effect of body weight after shearing on greasy wool yield was significant (p<0.01) in all villages. When all the farms were generally evaluated, the effect of shearing age and the farm on greasy wool yield was found insignificant but the effect of live weight after shearing was statistically significant (p<0.01). Least-squares means for greasy wool yield of Red Karaman ewes raised in Alican, Boyuncuk, Bozbulut, Çiçekli and, Yukarısızma villages were 1.51±0.05, 1.45±0.05, 1.39±0.05, 1.41±0.05 and, 1.20±0.06 kg, respectively. The liquor natural aging process usually takes a very long time, which causes serious financial burden for wineries. Therefore, much efforts have been paid to develop new technologies for shortening aging time. In this work, the effect of electron beam radiation on main aroma components of Baijiu is investigated in detail. The factors of radiation doses and storage time or/ conditions are taken into consideration. Results show that the main aroma component is hexanoic acid ethyl ester, whose content can increase after radiation without depending on the radiation dose changes. Both the dissolved O 2 of liquor and storage temperature have strong effect on the liquor radiation aging process. The number of the aroma components decreases with increasing of radiation dose, and this phenomenon is more obvious for the group of radiation at N 2 condition. Comparing to the control group, both the ester species and the hexanoic acid ethyl ester content decrease with storage time going, but the specie numbers of alcohol, ketones, alkane and others increase, even back to the initial level of just the end of radiation. Though the results indicate that the aged Baijiu by radiation technique shows a return back tendency in a certain degree after a period of storage time, the Baijiu still is aged with fast and high efficient after radiation. This report can provide some basic data for the application of radiation technique in the liquor aging, and open a new window for liquor aging technique research.","PeriodicalId":222254,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Advanced Agricultural Technologies","volume":"8 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129741298","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It has been believed that the adsorption of ammonia by a suitable absorbent is an economic and possible method. In this study the zeolites (CVB 600 and CVB712) with low molar ratio of SiO 2 /Al 2 O 3 were used as adsorbents to remove ammonia to reduce the concentration of ammonia in water with live fish. The mechanism of the adsorption of ammonia on these zeolites was obtained through the deduction of the Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR) spectra. According to the analysis of these IR spectra, two possible adsorption mechanisms were deduced: (1) NH 4+ adsorption, which gave stretching vibration at 2836cm -1 and bending vibration 1460 cm -1 . (2) O 2 Al + H-NH 3 adsorption: the adsorption at 3256 cm -1 (NH asymmetry stretching vibration), 3060 cm -1 (NH symmetry stretching vibration), 1642 cm -1 (NH asymmetry bending vibration), 1098 cm -1 (NH symmetry bending vibration) gave the evdences of the existence of O 2 Al + H-NH 3 on these zeolites. The interaction of ammonium with O 2 Al + H is discussed in detail in this study. To reduce the cost of zeolites as absorbents, the regeneration of used absorbents was also studied. The original and used zeolites were heated at various temperatures to obtain their XRD spectra for further analysis. Experimental results showed that these zeolites used in our study (SiO 2 /Al2O 3 molar ratio=5 and 11.5) will collapse over 350 ℃ . It is suggested that temperature of the regeneration of these zeolites should be below 350 ℃ .","PeriodicalId":222254,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Advanced Agricultural Technologies","volume":"7 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124468076","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Simple Sequence Repeats (SSR) markers can be robust tools to assess the genetic diversity of this plant species because they are abundant in the genome, codominant, and more accurate than morphological markers. This study was carried out to quantify the genetic divergence of 29 elite potato varieties in Indonesia and 4 clones that originated from the United States using the 12 SSR markers and identify the potential genotypes for potato breeding programs. A total of 136 gene alleles were detected from 12 SSR markers. The number of alleles per marker ranged from 2 to 22, with an average value of 12.8. All SSR markers showed Polymorphism Information Content (PIC) of 0.66-0.92, with an average of 0.80, and an average value of genetic diversity of 0.82, indicating their high suitability for potato diversity studies. Clustering and principal coordinate analysis classified 33 genotypes into three groups with a coefficient of similarity of 0.76, indicating their high genetic variability. All clones originating from the United States belonged to the same group and separated from the other genotypes. This study gives an overview of the genetic diversity of the Indonesian potato and provides an initial basis of selection for appropriate parents to assist breeders efficiently in developing newly potato varieties with desired agricultural traits in Indonesia.","PeriodicalId":222254,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Advanced Agricultural Technologies","volume":"38 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124021976","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

On the other side, recent researches have suggested diverse countermeasures such as developing robot arm-based machines for harvesting vegetables and pulling up weeds using camera systems; past methods have included monitoring and identifying the positive and negative targets. However, there are not sufficient previous systems for sensing and analyzing the aforementioned small creatures in farmlands. The purpose of this original research is proving the utility of our visual data analysis system based on huge image datasets using Caffe Framework for deep learning using ImageNet 2012, which connects to our program using OpenCV libraries and other outside files. In short, this study selects and executes static visual analyses using AI-based computing by tools concerning deep learning using several hidden layers after obtaining and accumulating field pictures and video data concerning small creatures such as frogs and insects in outdoor farmlands. Additionally, the author calculates the ratio between the sizes of outline of leaves on which small creatures existed as well as that of the targeted small creatures as one original standard for giving a unity to the pictures selected to some extent. Our results confirm the utility of the detection methodologies. In future, these results could contribute to the development of automatic agricultural harvesting robot-systems and to improving the daily work effectiveness of actual manual workers. Furthermore, an automatic system for eliminating small creatures could support the recruitment of agricultural workers.","PeriodicalId":222254,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Advanced Agricultural Technologies","volume":"101 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128149899","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It was hypothesized that biochar addition to soils used for vegetable production could reduce leaching loss by improving soil nitrogen retention. A pot experiment was conducted with soil collected from a vegetable field in the Tailake region. Three levels of biochar (0, 1%, 5%) were added into the soil in the no nitrogen and nitrogen conditions. The soil ammonium nitrogen content was increased due to biochar addition from 5.64 mg/kg to 12.47 mg/kg and 20.28 mg/kg to 34.54 mg/kg in the no nitrogen and nitrogen conditions, respectively. Volume and nitrate concentration of leachate was significantly decreased in soils amended with biochar by 17%-58% and 6%-35%, respectively. Biochar addition could increase soil water retention capacity and residence time of nitrate nitrogen for pakchoi uptake. It was suggested that biochar could be used as a potential soil amendment to improve soil nitrogen retention and reduce nitrogen leaching for vegetable production. Therefore, the contribution of vegetable production systems to lake eutrophication could be decreased by biochar addition. ","PeriodicalId":222254,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Advanced Agricultural Technologies","volume":"98 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131954352","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Overweight and obesity rates are prevalent in those net food importing SIDS, so much so that diabetes and other Non-communicable Diseases (NCDs) are leading causes of death. The ease of access to cheap fast foods and ultra-processed products mean that items of lower nutritive value are more popular among populations. At the same time, our sedentary lifestyles trigger a decrease in physical activity to maintain a healthy weight. The effects of climate change, the socio-economic crises nurtured by the COVID-19 pandemic and the knock-on effects of the war in Ukraine only made a dire situation worse. Food shortages and rising food and fuel prices mean that the less financially able have more limited food choices, to the detriment of healthy eating habits. Against such a background, what are the solutions SIDS have put in place to alleviate the impacts of the food and nutrition crises? This paper provides a commentary on Mauritian initiatives to transform food systems, encourage local production of fruit and vegetables and reduce imports of ultra-processed foods. With the various crises we face signalling an impetus for change, agriculture and nutrition can be clients for transformation towards a healthier consumption of local and nutritious produce.","PeriodicalId":222254,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Advanced Agricultural Technologies","volume":"51 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133919006","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
