In the study, Layer-by-Layer technique used to improve the antifelting and shrinkproof properties of wool blended fabrics as an effective nanofabrication method according to the literature. Different polyelectrolytes and nano-polyurethane were applied on ecru and light, medium, dark color dyed suit wool blended fabrics by using Layer-by-Layer method. After the application fabrics, relaxation and felting shrinkage, breaking and tear strength tests and color/strength measurements were performed. Besides, the effect of squeezing roller velocity and pressure on the fabrics were evaluated. It is ensured that the relaxation and felting shrinkage values are within ± 3%. It has been observed that soft handle fabrics are obtained after coating without any negative effect on the fabric. In addition, SEM-EDX and FTIR-ATR analysis were performed to determine the surface properties of the fabrics and bond characterization of the films.","PeriodicalId":22221,"journal":{"name":"Tekstil Ve Konfeksiyon","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.6,"publicationDate":"2023-01-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"47432400","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"工程技术","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The outer layers from three types of raw materials (polypropylene, recycled polyester and mechanically recycled fibers) and the control groups were produced by classical needle-punching at two different needle-punch densities. Abrasion resistance and bending properties of the end products were investigated considering recycled layer ratio, raw material type and needle-punching density through standard test methods. Among all types, the highest abrasion cycles and bending rigidity values were observed for the PP outer layered products. Increase in needling density increased the abrasion cycles between 10%-20% and increased bending rigidity 3%-8% among the overall. Comparing the fabrics with recycled layer of 20% to control groups, abrasion resistance was preserved between 67% -75% and bending rigidity was preserved between 86%-93% at overall.","PeriodicalId":22221,"journal":{"name":"Tekstil Ve Konfeksiyon","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.6,"publicationDate":"2023-01-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"69993083","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"工程技术","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

For this purpose, 100% cotton fabrics were treated with imidazolium (1-ethyl-2,3-dimethylimidazolium ethyl sulfate- E) and ammonium (methyl-tri-n-butylammonium methyl sulfate- B) based ionic liquids with three different concentrations. To assess the effect of the treatments, the cotton fabrics were characterized by FT-IR, SEM and DSC. After this treatment, the cotton fibers were dyed with 1.0% o.w.f reactive dye. The K/S values were determined to evaluate the effect of ionic liquids on the dyeability of cotton fabrics and fastness analyses to washing, water and rubbing were conducted to examine the end-use properties of dyed fabrics. The results revealed that ionic liquids settled on the fabric surface and after each ionic liquid modification, the increasing intensity was observed with increasing ionic liquid concentrations at broad bands according to the FT-IR analysis. It was determined that the K/S value of the modified cotton fabric increased with increment in the concentration of ionic liquid E, especially. Considering the overall results, it is possible to state that ionic liquids which are implemented in this study are efficient in enhancing the dyeability of the cotton fabrics.","PeriodicalId":22221,"journal":{"name":"Tekstil Ve Konfeksiyon","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.6,"publicationDate":"2022-12-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"49131007","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"工程技术","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Various material and construction changes affect thermal insulation, permeability properties, wetting and water vapour permeability, which are the most important properties related to the comfort of textiles. Thermal comfort evaluation plays a crucial role in the development of textiles and is mainly carried out in the three aspects of breathability, heat transfer and moisture transfer. The aim of the research is to investigate the comfort and flame retardant properties of knitted fabrics made of four different materials: three conventional (cotton, Tencel and Micromodal) and one flame retardant material (blend of Tencel, polyacrylate, Modacryl-Tayrilan) that can be used for firefighter underwear. All materials were knitted in three different constructions of double jersey. It was found that the blend of Tencel, polyacrylate and Modacryl-Tayrilan is a truly flame retardant material suitable for firefighter underwear and has good comfort properties.","PeriodicalId":22221,"journal":{"name":"Tekstil Ve Konfeksiyon","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.6,"publicationDate":"2022-12-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"69984416","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"工程技术","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Modeling helps to determine how structural parameters of fabric affect the surface of a fabric and also identify the way they influence fabric properties. Moreover, it helps estimate and evaluates without the complexity and time-consuming experimental procedures. In this research paper, the linear regression model was developed that was utilized for the prediction and evaluation of surface roughness of plain-woven fabric. The model was developed based on nine different half-bleached plain-woven fabrics with three weft Yarn counts 42 tex, 29.5 tex & 14.76 tex, and three weft thread densities (18 picks per c, 21ppc & 24 picks per c) and then the surface roughness of plain-woven fabric was tested by using Kawabata (KES-FB4) testing instrument. The findings reveal that the effects of count and density on the roughness of plain-woven fabric were found statistically significant at the confidence interval of 95%. The weft yarn count has a positive correlation with surface roughness values of plain-woven fabrics. On the other hand, pick density has a negative correlation with the surface roughness values of plain-woven fabrics. The correlation between measured surface roughness by KES-FB4 and calculated surface roughness by the model equation show how they are strongly correlated at 95% (R² of 0.97).","PeriodicalId":22221,"journal":{"name":"Tekstil Ve Konfeksiyon","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.6,"publicationDate":"2022-12-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"69984152","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"工程技术","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In the study, auxiliary parts of siro-spun and pneumatic compact spinning are newly designed for the production of compact three-roving yarns. The properties of new compact three-roving yarns were compared with compact spun and compact siro-spun yarns that produced at the same yarn count and at the same twist level from natural, synthetic and regenerated fibers. Besides, three-types of yarns were also used in the weft direction for the production of the woven fabric. Comparing yarn and fabric properties showed that, compact three-roving yarns have similar results to commercially used yarns in general. In addition, it should also be noted that three-roving yarn can be also used for specific purposes owing to its composite structure.","PeriodicalId":22221,"journal":{"name":"Tekstil Ve Konfeksiyon","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.6,"publicationDate":"2022-12-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"69985575","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"工程技术","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
