The study mirrored the waste management approaches hitherto and therefrom initiated strategies that can be implemented to transform waste into valuable resources while promoting environmental sustainability and economic growth. The study adopted the cross-sectional research design. The Taro Yamane equation was used to determine a study population of 400 respondents. The spearman’s rank correlation coefficient was deployed to test the perception of waste monetization in Delta and Bayelsa States. Findings indicated that the locals knew very little about waste monetization. Albeit, they identified that they will be willing to participate in the process if initiated. The perceptions in both States were not significantly different at p>0.05.
