It was identified that only 19% of Filipino students met the Low benchmark, meaning they had “some basic mathematical knowledge,” while 81% did not reach this level. Filipino students also lagged behind other countries in the international assessment for mathematics as mentioned in the Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study 2019 (TIMSS).To address this; a researcher conducted a study to explore students’ attitudes and challenges in learning Mathematics in the Modern World (MMW). The data gathered were used in formulating intervention programs. The study utilized the descriptive method of research and employed a survey questionnaire as the main data-gathering instrument. It involved the participation of all college students from the University of Batangas who were taking Mathematics in the Modern World (MMW) during the school year 2022-2023 using a purposive sampling technique. Furthermore, the responses of the respondents were computed using frequency count, percentage, weighted mean, ranking, and chi-square as the main statistical treatments of data. Ethical guidelines were highly considered to maintain the confidentiality of the study. Key findings include that the majority of the students are 19-21 years old, male, and enrolled in Criminology courses. Students strongly agreed and exhibited a positive attitude toward wanting to develop their mathematical skills. It was observed that there is a positive and moderate correlation between the attitude and the challenges encountered by the students in learning Mathematics in the Modern World (MMW). The main challenge identified is the difficulty in remembering math facts, concepts, rules, formulas, sequences, and procedures. The researcher proposed different intervention programs to address the challenges encountered by students in learning Mathematics in the Modern World (MMW).","PeriodicalId":220610,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Material and Mathematical Sciences","volume":"10 3","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-06-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141266396","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To fulfill the target, we use the method for getting the solution of differential equations with initial and boundary conditions. Then the results obtained are compared with the series solution and the exact/numerical solution by using Mathematica and Fortran Programming. The comparisons are shown graphically. Also, the perturbation series approximation and the exact or numerical solution are in good agreement. Previous research primarily addressed these effects in two-dimensional natural convection flow scenarios, while this study extends the analysis to encompass three exterior situations, accounting for variations in fluid properties outside compressible boundary layers. Employing numerical methods, the study aims to predict essential flow parameters including Prandtl’s number (Pr), controlling parameter (C), and additional parameters (A, B, D, E, ∅). The investigation yields velocity profiles (F'(0), S'(0)), temperature profiles , skin frictions (F''(0), S''(0)), and heat transfer coefficients θ'(0). Numerical results are presented to illustrate the impact of different parameters on these flow characteristics. Additionally, tabulated data in Tables-2 and Tables-3 offer further insights into the predicted flow parameters and their variations under varying conditions.","PeriodicalId":220610,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Material and Mathematical Sciences","volume":"29 7","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-05-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141014394","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The data of AC conductivity have been analyzed in the light of the correlated barrier hopping model (CBH) and percolation theorem. The dielectric measurements were carried out for all samples over the frequency range of (102-107) Hz and over temperature range of (293-463) K0. It is found that all samples displayed a wide dielectric dispersion, thus the values for dielectric constant and dissipation factor give a direct evidence of Debye relaxation existence which leaving a wide distribution of relaxation time. Eyring’s relaxation rate equation have been used to determine the thermodynamic parameters (Gibbs free energy of activations (ΔG), and entropy (ΔS)). The results (ΔG), and (ΔS) reviles a strong intermolecular interaction in all tested samples. The glass transition temperature (Tg) values were exhibited by deferential thermal analysis (DTA) and estimated by dielectric measurements (DM). The thermal stability of EP/PU blend and EP/PU-CNF’s composite was evaluated by thermal gravimetric analysis (TG) and deferential thermal gravimetric analysis (DTG), the results showed that the carbon nanofibers improve the thermal stability of the composite, hence the char yield at a temperature greater than (700) C0 reached to (31.08) %, while it is only (8.4) % for the EP/PU- blend.","PeriodicalId":220610,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Material and Mathematical Sciences","volume":"18 4","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141048017","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The investigation spanned three districts-Dinajpur, Kushtia, and Mymensingh. Data collection involved personal interviews employing semi-structured questionnaires and Focus Group Discussions, covering aspects such as mill types, ownership status, existing products, milling machinery varieties, and the total commissioning cost of mills/sections. Employing a primary descriptive statistical method, the study aimed to assess the current status of rice milling, specifically semi-automated processes utilizing modern machinery, focusing on type, capacity, and technological aspects. The research revealed milling costs for semi-automatic operations without modern equipment at Tk.2954 and those with modern equipment at Tk.3460. Whole rice recovery rates were 66.25% and 64.75%, respectively. Semi-automatic rice mills exhibited a capacity range of 1.15-1.75 t/h, with a utilization rate of 40%. The estimated benefit-cost ratios (BCRs) were higher for semi-automatic mills, both with and without modern equipment, at 1.48 and 1.64, respectively. Staff requirements for semi-automatic operations without modern equipment and those with modern equipment were reported as 9.13 and 4.50 person-hours per ton of paddy processing, respectively. These findings serve as a valuable foundation for making well-informed decisions and offering guidance to policymakers, industry stakeholders, and entrepreneurs in optimizing the benefits of automation for sustainable and competitive rice production in Bangladesh.","PeriodicalId":220610,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Material and Mathematical Sciences","volume":"7 9","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-02-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140434933","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

That is, obtaining an extension of the derivative of the nth order of the product of the nth function, which is the successive derivatives up to the nth order. Leibniz's rule is the derivative of the nth order of the product of two functions, which is in the form of an expansion and has successive derivatives up to the nth order. First, the generalization of a theorem in mathematics is explained. Also, the derivative of the product of two or more functions, then the derivatives of the first to the nth order of a function, and the rule of Leibniz's derivative are discussed and we have an overview of the generalization of this rule. The results show that the relationship between the order of rivatives of functions and coefficients in the general sentence of the generalized rule is the same as the relationship of owers and coefficients in the general sentence of the expansion of polynomials. To obtain the derivative of higher order in the multiplication of several functions, less process is easily used.","PeriodicalId":220610,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Material and Mathematical Sciences","volume":"67 36","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140486441","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Training and Focus Group Discussion (FGD) were conducted to disseminate hermetic (PICS and GrainPro) bag at Mymensingh and Jashore regions. The participants learned the use of moisture meter in paddy drying and safe storage. Pedagogical approach was followed in the FGD among 100 farmers of different age with their spouse. Farmers’ perception about these bags was also taken. Traditional storage technologies namely, Dole, Motka, Guny Bag, Bamboo Gola, Dhari, Bamboo Auri, and Berh were identified which are not durable or functional in Bangladesh. Among these, Dole and Plastic Bag for consumption, and Motka and Plastic Drum were found suitable for paddy seed storage. Women taught to neighbors about the operation of moisture meter and HB. About 87, 13% farmers prefer 10-20 and 40-50 kg size HB in Mymensingh while 82 and 18% farmers of Jashore prefer corresponding sizes of bags for seed purposes. For sale and consumption purposes, about 40, 35 and 20% farmer preferred 500, 1000 and 2000 kg size HB in Mymensingh. On the contrary, about 26, 38 and 36% farmers prefer same size of HB in Jashore. Farmer shown keen interest about HB and concerned of its high price. They opined price of 40-50 and 500-2000 kg size HB should be within Tk. 20 and Tk. 200, respectively. Both female and male farmers can store paddy in it properly. Price of hermetic bag is high, ranked as no. 1 problem followed by its availability in different sizes locally. However, HB was found effective in paddy storage in Bangladesh.","PeriodicalId":220610,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Material and Mathematical Sciences","volume":"28 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-11-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139231655","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The governing partial differential equations have been transformed through appropriate similarity functions into nonlinear ordinary differential equations. The emerging equations were solved numerically using both a sixth-order Runge-Kutta-Fehlberg and the shooting technique. The influences of pertinent parameters such as plate inclination angle, magnetic field, buoyancy ratio, and the convective heating term on the temperature, velocity, and concentration profiles were investigated graphically. Key findings indicate that an increase in magnetic field and permeability leads to a decline in the fluid’s velocity while the temperature and nanoparticle concentration are significantly enhanced. The results obtained are in close correlation with existing body of knowledge discussed in the literature.","PeriodicalId":220610,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Material and Mathematical Sciences","volume":"92 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-10-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139311217","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Along with standard structured forms of data (containing mainly numbers), modern databases include new forms of unstructured data comprising words, images, sounds, and videos which require new techniques to be exploited and interpreted. This study focuses on Text Mining, which is a set of statistical and computer science techniques specifically developed to analyze text data. New sources of text data are now available, such as text messaging, social media activity, blogs, and web searches. The increasing availability of published text, sophisticated technologies, and growing interest in organizations in extracting information from text have led to replacing (or at least supplementing) the human effort with automatic systems. Text mining can be used for a variety of scopes, ranging from basic descriptions of text content through word counts to more sophisticated uses such as finding links between authors and evaluating the content of scripts (e.g., automated marking of essays). Its basic purpose is to process the unstructured information contained in text data in order to make text accessible to various Data mining statistical algorithms. This could help make text data as informative as standard structured data and allow us to investigate relationships and patterns that would otherwise be extremely difficult, if not impossible, to discover. This study takes a quick look at how to organize and analyze unstructured text data using R programming language. And implementing various text mining operations to clean and structure the “eng_news_2020” dataset. This study also represents some association between the words using the chi-square test and clustering procedure.","PeriodicalId":220610,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Material and Mathematical Sciences","volume":"54 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-10-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135302986","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
