Many students engage in different types of applications that enable them to improve their school performance. The main goal of this study is to determine the effectiveness and impact of DigiLeaP Offline Application to the academic engagement of students in Noveleta Senior High School. Eighty-one (81) learners from Noveleta Senior High School in Grade 11 served as the study's respondents and were chosen using total population sampling. This study utilized the one-group pretest-posttest quasi-experimental design. This study revealed that the integration of DigiLeap application has a significant impact on students’ learning engagement. Their engagement level prior to the implementation is in the good category but after the implementation, it raised to a higher level of engagement – affective, behavioral, and cognitive dimensions. The positive gained differences which indicated improved results were supported by the results of the Paired T-Test that yielded a significant difference between the pre-test and post-test scores of the students. Nonetheless, using DigiLeap can help children develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and information processing skills.","PeriodicalId":219862,"journal":{"name":"E-Dawa: An International Multidisciplinary Research Journal","volume":"18 20","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-05-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141107105","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This provoked the researchers to utilize the use of Strategic Intervention Materials (SIM) and convert its traditional and physical attributions into a web-based online platform. Thus, ABAKADEMY, an online strategic intervention material aimed to determine its effectiveness for independent remediation in English, particularly in Literary Genres, Figures of Speech, and Greek and Roman Mythology. Forty (40) grade 10 students were gathered and divided into control and experimental groups. Through t-test, the researchers were able to describe the level of performance and significant difference of the groups’ pre-test and post-test results. Given that there was a practical significance measured through Cohen’s d, it is concluded that ABAKADEMY, an online strategic intervention material is effective for independent remediation in English for the grade 10 students. It stimulated better cognitive retention and fostered creativity and critical thinking among the learners.","PeriodicalId":219862,"journal":{"name":"E-Dawa: An International Multidisciplinary Research Journal","volume":"22 10","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-05-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141105042","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This study aims to describe the causes and effects of employing non-English language major teachers to teach English courses in the Naguilian Cluster as basis in policy note formulation. It employed the descriptive survey research design and used a researcher-made questionnaire in gathering data. The study found out that none of the respondents pursued higher studies related with English since their baccalaureate degree is not English and they were underload. They believed that there should be strict hiring and selection of English teachers. Moreover, they greatly affect the quality of English language learning since they commit errors or mistakes in the production of learning resources or instructional materials in teaching English. Thus, English teachers should either have a bachelor’s degree related with English or a certification in English language teaching; should undergo intensive training to enrich their English language teaching pedagogy; and the preparation and development of learning resources or instructional materials in English teaching and learning should be led by English language teachers who are experts in this field. The study recommends the inclusion of a certification in English language teaching in the absence of a bachelor’s degree in English.","PeriodicalId":219862,"journal":{"name":"E-Dawa: An International Multidisciplinary Research Journal","volume":"29 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-05-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141106473","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The researchers used a descriptive and qualitative research design to extract data from the transcripts of the two speeches. The findings revealed that both presidents used similar speech structures during their inaugurations, acknowledging important people, recognizing the historical significance of their inaugurations, and expressing hope for the future of their countries. The study also identifies the implications of the content of the message in the inaugural speeches of the two presidents. President Biden Jr. focused on racial fairness, honesty, and unity, while President Marcos Jr. advocated unity and hope for the future. Both presidents employed directive speech acts to encourage certain behaviors and attitudes, illustrating their different leadership viewpoints. It is recommended for linguistics students to have further readings in the application of Speech Act in comparative discourse analysis for political speeches, teachers should encourage more students to conduct research, parents should be aware of the implications of political speeches, administrators should motivate students to conduct study using quantitative research, and future researchers should focus on developing a more nuanced understanding of the discourses used by political leaders in different contexts and investigating the impact of political discourses on public opinion.","PeriodicalId":219862,"journal":{"name":"E-Dawa: An International Multidisciplinary Research Journal","volume":"8 9","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-05-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141106966","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The study was anchored on the theory of Zone of Proximal Development (ZPD) by Lev Vygotsky. A descriptive phenomenological method was used to analyze and interpret the data from the purposely selected 20 participants through online interviews that were transcribed, coded, clustered and formed themes. The emerged themes for housekeeping services are: household chores skills, work ethics and safety measure skills, prerequisite skills and consistent monitoring of skills. For massage and spa service: fine motor skills, knowledge of equipment, dos and don’ts at work and socio-emotional and communication skills. For food and beverage service: food preparation, functional academics, safety measures and sanitation and behavioral and socio-emotional skills. Practicing household chores, process of food preparation and work attitude skills such as time awareness, money literacy and academic functioning are vital skills needed for vocational training of Adults with Special Needs (ASN). Developing prerequisite skills through their developmental domains such as cognitive skills, socio-emotional skills, behavoral skills, communication skills and fine motor skills are necessary to be trained earlier in catering their needs in special education. Safety measures and sanitation skills are to be trainied for ASN’s vocational training since it is important to have knowledge of equipment, safety in the work procedure and sanitation in workplace. It is highlighted to establish strong support system and collaboration of home-school-community to bridge the skills from a workplace to be trained at school and home. Teachers should also be trained with vocational skills first so they can teach the skills appropriately. Finally, future researchers to conduct research linked in the field of special education to broaden the idea in the vocational training of skills to ASN for the full access to employment and equal opportunities.","PeriodicalId":219862,"journal":{"name":"E-Dawa: An International Multidisciplinary Research Journal","volume":"35 12","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-05-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141107634","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This not only helps reduce environmental pollution but also helps recycle and utilize resources effectively, while creating a healthy and sustainable living environment for the community. The pressure from household solid waste in large cities is an alarming signal that it is necessary to classify household solid waste in rural areas as soon as the urbanization process begins to accelerate strongly. Clearly, research to survey people's awareness and behavior about CHSW in Trung Mon commune, Yen Son district, Tuyen Quang province, Vietnam using sociological survey method through questionnaires is imperative. The findings revealed that residents have a good awareness of the CHSW policy and the majority consider classification necessary. Noticeably, attention is needed on encouraging the use of more environmentally friendly products and increasing education to reinforce awareness and positive habits in waste management to better CHSW practices. By building upon existing research and addressing the unique context of the study area, this research endeavors to provide insights and recommendations for enhancing CHSW practices in similar settings globally.","PeriodicalId":219862,"journal":{"name":"E-Dawa: An International Multidisciplinary Research Journal","volume":"109 12","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-05-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141105776","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

OPM songs serve as a means of expressing emotions, introducing culture, and acting as a form of communication for Filipinos. However, as times change, the emotions and cultures presented in OPM songs may also evolve. This study aims to identify the themes and Filipino cultures embedded in OPM (Original Pilipino Music) songs of the 21st century. Through the analysis of lyrics from OPM songs awarded \"Song of the Year\" at the Awit Awards by the Philippine Association of the Record Industry, Inc spanning from 2001 to 2022, the study seeks to understand the culture of the 21st-century Filipino. Based on the study's findings, OPM songs of the 21st century contain themes and cultures reflecting various life experiences of Filipinos, with many of these cultures being traditional Filipino values. This suggests that despite the influence of globalization, the Filipino identity, customs, values, and traditions remain alive and well, passed down from their ancestors. It is recommended to conduct a more extensive study of OPM songs in the 21st century, emphasizing their influence on Filipinos to determine whether the cultures presented in the songs are understood and continued by Filipinos. Furthermore, integrating OPM songs into education is suggested to enhance students' knowledge and understanding of Filipino culture, fostering a deeper connection to their language and behaviors.","PeriodicalId":219862,"journal":{"name":"E-Dawa: An International Multidisciplinary Research Journal","volume":"476 ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"138983305","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Interestingly, a dearth of studies focusing on an in-depth case analysis of specific stories and explanations inside individual interviews is evident. This led the researchers to conduct this study. This study aimed to explore what contributes to the dropping of students from school. This study employed the case study design and criterion sampling was used in choosing the participants. Aide-mémoire was used as the main data-gathering tool. Seven (7) willing students who dropped out during the first and second semesters of the school year 2022-2023 at the ISPSC Santiago campus and seven (7) parents served as key informats of the study. A family member and friend for each of the main respondents also participated as part of the triangulation process of the study. Then, the gathered data from the interview transcripts were analysed by applying the cool and warm analyses. The study revelead that the financial restrictions were the prominent element leading to school dropout experiences as many students struggled to finance their educational expenditures, or they needed to support financially their families. Inadequate assistance from educational institutions, such as a lack of resources and an unsupportive school environment, also played a role in dropout decisions. Individual reasons such as academic difficulties, disinterest in studies, and low self-esteem influenced students' decisions to abandon their education. With these reasons, the phrase sinimulan pero ‘di tinapos (started but did not finish) was conceptualized which charaterized the dropping of students from their classes. Nonetheless, the study concludes that parental involvement and support are critical in attaining educational success while lack of family support and financial challenges hampered it.","PeriodicalId":219862,"journal":{"name":"E-Dawa: An International Multidisciplinary Research Journal","volume":"507 ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"138983238","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
