As an entry gate that connects regions, ports have a role in revitalizing the economy and regional development. Situbondo Regency has a main port, namely Jangkar Port. Located in Jangkar District, Situbondo Regency, this port connects the island of Java-Madura-Lombok. Having a strategic location and a large number of interested parties makes Jangkar Port worthy of consideration for development. Therefore,it is necessary to carry out an analysis of the dock as consideration for the future development of Jangkar Port. The analysis carried out by calculating the Berth Occupancy Ratio (BOR) value, namely calculating the comparison of the time for using the dock with the time available in the time period expressed as a percentage. Based on research, the results obtained were 15,1 % and showed that the use of docks at Jangkar Port still met standards because it did not exceed the 40% limit in accordance with UNCTAS provisions for dock with one berth.","PeriodicalId":219457,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal Manajemen Pesisir dan Laut","volume":"13 6","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-11-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139205725","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The research focuses on the organic material content in the waters of Kalbut Beach, Situbondo Regency using the titrimetric method. The results showed significant differences in organic matter concentrations between the three water sampling points (R1, R2, R3), indicating potential pollutants in the region. This research shows that the organic matter content in seawater can be an important indicator for evaluating the level of pollution or sustainability of the aquatic environment. In particular, high values may indicate the presence of pollutant sources such as industrial activity or waste disposal. This analysis also provides suggestions regarding the need for further investigation regarding pollutant sources in certain areas, increased control and monitoring of human activities, as well as management measures to maintain the quality of the aquatic environment. The results of this research can be used as a basis for concrete action in maintaining and improving sea water quality around Kalbut Harbor. The existence of this biofouling has an impact on the ship's performance, reducing it and requiring more fuel, which ultimately contributes significantly to increased costs. Microfouling is one of the stages of biofouling growth that appears in a matter of days to weeks with a size of up to 1 mm which can be characterized by the appearance of a slippery layer on the surface of the specimen. Until now, many antifouling paints, as a means of preventing the occurrence of biofouling, still contain TBT, which has serious side effects as a chemical pollutant. Pineapple peel is a waste that is often found in Indonesia and contains bromelain and tannin which are anti-bacterial. The appearance of bacteria is the first phase in the growth of biofouling which is usually called biofilm, so it is hoped that pineapple peel extract will be able to prevent the emergence of biofilm. To determine the effectiveness of pineapple peel extract, this experimental study was carried out. The method used was a Randomized Block Design on ASTM 36 steel plate which is a certified ship material with 3 variations and 1 control of specimen as follows, 3 specimens as controls, 3 specimens with a ratio of 30% pineapple peel extract, 3 specimens with a ratio of pineapple peel extract. 50%, and 3 specimens with a pineapple peel extract ratio of 70%. Immersion for 7 weeks was carried out at Boom Beach, Banyuwangi by calculating the DGR (Daily Growth Rate) once a week. The DGR results obtained were respectively 0.095 g/day at an extract ratio of 30%, 0.0727 g/day at an extract ratio of 50%, and 0.0730 g/day at an extract ratio of 70%.","PeriodicalId":219457,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal Manajemen Pesisir dan Laut","volume":"41 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-11-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139201873","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The use of plastic-based objects is still in great demand so that waste from plastic waste needs good management measures so that it does not further contaminate land and waters. According to Indonesian domestic waste statistics, the type of plastic waste produced accounts for 5.4 million tons annually or 14% of total waste production. Plastic has a long carbon chain so it takes a very long time for plastic waste to decompose naturally. In this research, paving blocks will be made from plastic waste of the PET type (polyethylene terephthalate) mixed with coconut fiber, considering that Situbondo district has a long coastline of 150 km so the potential for the existence of coconut trees which are found in this area also produces a lot of coconut fiber waste. As for this study, it aims to determine the best composition of the combination of the amount of mixing between sand, plastic and coconut fiber in the manufacture of plastic paving blocks. The compressive strength test in this study was carried out manually using a gallon and water. The compressive strength test with good results was obtained on a composition of 210 grams of sand, 70 grams of plastic and 10 grams of fiber.","PeriodicalId":219457,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal Manajemen Pesisir dan Laut","volume":"116 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-04-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116256103","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Metallic materials have the potential for damage due to corrosion and fouling growth. This requires regular maintenance and repair to prevent damage to an offshore building structure. Therefore, research was conducted on the rate of fouling growth through the mechanism of testing steel and aluminum materials using the iron paint coating method and wax as an inhibitor with the immersion method in marine waters in the Marina Boom beach area of Banyuwangi Regency. The results obtained in this study are the Daily Growth Rate (DGR) value. The highest DGR value is on steel material using iron paint coating with a value of 0.1828 grams. The lowest DGR value is in aluminum material using wax coating with a value of 0.0744 grams. So it can be concluded that aluminum material has better resistance to fouling growth compared to steel material and the coating method using wax is more effective for inhibiting or as an inhibitor of fouling growth compared to iron paint.","PeriodicalId":219457,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal Manajemen Pesisir dan Laut","volume":"7 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-04-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122905234","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, 20% of the earth's human population suffers from a lack of clean water. Desalination is the process of converting seawater into fresh water. This research aims to convert seawater into potable fresh water by evaporation using heat energy. The heat energy used is heat from burning fire and heat from sunray. These two energy sources will be compared and analyzed for their efficiency in desalinating seawater into fresh water. Heating using fire is done by burning twigs and dry leaves, and then two glass bottles are connected to the mouth of the bottle so that there is no air in or out. The collected water vapor will flow into the empty bottle. The second method uses sunray for heating. The two clear bottles are connected with a small pipe at the mouths of the bottles. Seawater is collected in the bottle and then dried under direct sunlight. The evaporated water will pass through the connecting pipe and gather in the empty bottle above. Fresh water produced from heating using fire was collected as much as ±7 ml in a span of 20 minutes, while heating using sunray can produce ±2 ml of fresh water in a span of 70 minutes or 1 hour 10 minutes.","PeriodicalId":219457,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal Manajemen Pesisir dan Laut","volume":"15 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-04-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128104891","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The existence of fouling in a marine structure has a large impact on losses if it is not addressed immediately. Antifouling is needed to overcome the presence of fouling. Various development efforts to inhibit, prevent and eliminate biofouling continue to be made. Generally, the method used by the public is by using commercial antifoulant protective paints with heavy metal main components such as TBT (tri-n-butyl tin). However, currently various studies have proven that TBT compounds are not only toxic to biofouling biota but also harmful to other marine organisms. Further research is needed to find antifouling alternatives that do not contain toxic compounds and are more environmentally friendly. This study was designed to determine the growth rate of marine growth in steel and aluminum plate materials at Boom Banyuwangi Beach by using a protective coating in the form of oil and wax. From the results of the research designed, it can be analyzed the efficiency of using protective layers of oil and wax with steel and aluminum materials on the growth rate of marine growth according to the conditions of the waters of Boom Banyuwangi Beach.
