In recent years of economic unrest since the Great Recession of 2008 and 2009 to the current global virus outbreak crisis of COVID-19 pandemic, the public and academia raised the long-debated question again: should, and to what extent government should intervene the market. The major focus of this paper is on the use of regulatory policy, monetary policy, fiscal policy, and their applications in real world, with examples that spanned different time periods of time. The first part of the paper we will first explain the tree policies that government or central bank usually uses, which include the introduction of the specific tools each type of policy would use and discuss its benefits and shortcomings. In the next part of this paper, we discussed the various type of policy responses made by the US government and Federal Reserve during the COVID-19 era to illustrate how these policies discussed in this paper could be implemented to help the economy. Accordingly, SMEs sector has been attracting enough attention based on its potentials in the economic transformation of the country. The study therefore investigates financial factors on the performance of SMEs in Abuja, Nigeria. Statistically, for every five new SMEs, there is a record of three failed SMEs within the first year of existence because of inadequate of accessible finance, collateral and insufficient finances to acquire technological capability for business performance and growth. The research design employed was survey and the population of the SMEs in Abuja was 2690. Using the Taro Yamane formula of 1967, the population was reduced to 348, which formed the sample size of the study. The tools of analysis employed was descriptive statistics and the OLS method of regression was used to analyse the data giving to the respondents. With this, findings revealed that financial factors (proxy: access to finance, insufficient financing and collateral) has no positive significant effect on the performance (efficiency) of SMEs in Abuja, Nigeria. Based on this finding, the study therefore recommends that SMEs in Abuja should put together healthy practice of financial management, which include usage and planning of financial facts in SMEs operations. Most of the existing studies focus on explaining a certain aspect of entrepreneurial activities or exploring the extent to which regional entrepreneurial activities promote regional economic growth. However, examining regional entrepreneurial activities from a systematic rather than fragmented perspective may be able to reflect their internal and external quality more comprehensively and accurately. The purpose of this paper is to study the key factors affecting the quality of entrepreneurial activities in large Chinese cities based on the theories of \"Entrepreneurial Ecosystem\" and \"Complexity System\", and put forward corresponding recommendation on policy design and policy implementation. Based on a systematic review of studies on city-level entrepreneurial ecosystems and the application of complexity science in entrepreneurial research, The Urban Entrepreneurship Ecosystem Index (UEEI) system is constructed, which consists of three dimensions of synergy, emergence and phase change, 10 first-level indicators and 40 second-level indicators. The cross-section data of 2018 are used to make quantitative analysis on China's top ten quasi-first-tier cities such as Wuhan and Chengdu. The results show that the urban entrepreneurial ecosystem is characterized by coordination, emergence and phase transformation, and the more balanced the three characteristics are, the higher the quality of the urban entrepreneurial ecosystem will be. The improvement of service innovation performance requires enterprises to have more open cooperation vision, and flexible coordination mechanism as well. More focuses have steadily changed from the traditional machine-driven standardized process to flexible talent development of work teams, especially the improvement of their service innovation performance. It requires groups to show more team spirit, as well as mutual sharing behavior, which is beyond duty and not for the purpose of commendation. Based on the mediating effect of organizational commitment and knowledge sharing, this paper explored the effect of group citizenship behavior on service innovation performance in Chinese context. With a sample of 498 employees of enterprises in China, this paper explored the relationship between group citizenship behavior, service innovation performance, organizational commitment and knowledge sharing by constructing a structural equation model. The results showed that organizational commitment and knowledge sharing played a partial mediating role between group citizenship behavior and service innovation performance. The problem of food security is one the challenges that farmers in the study area deal with. The general objective of the study is to assess factors affecting households to food security in the study area. Both secondary and primary data were used for the study. The study was based on the survey of a total of 72 households randomly selected using three-stage sampling techniques; purposive sampling, stratified sampling and systematic sampling. Analytical tools used include descriptive statistics and econometrics model. The total household expenditure per adult equivalent is taken to compute proxy indicator of food security. The findings revealed that about 72.22% and 22.78% of farmers in the woreda were food secure and food insecure respectively. Logistic model analysis result showed age, cultivated land, improved seed, fertilizer and tropical livestock units were the major factors positively and significantly influence food security status. The findings suggest the following set of policy recommendation. Identifying and understanding factors that are responsible for household’s food security status and its determinants is important to combat food security problems at the household level.
