The growing demand of Islamic finance in Pakistan has asserted the main controllers of stock market to launch Islamic index for assisting investors in buying and selling of shares in alignment to their religious beliefs. Though Pakistan is deficient in having a proper Islamic stock market but Al-Meezan and Karachi Stock Exchange has initiated an Islamic stock market by the name of Karachi stock exchange Meezan index (KMI-30). This study uses time series analysis for the forecasting of Islamic stock index of Pakistan under the influence of volatility. The daily data of KMI-30 of five days per week starting from 1st September 2008 to 3rd May 2012 is taken. The output reveal that Muslim investors can earn substantial revenues by investing in Islamic stock indices and can also achieve their peace of mind by aligning their investments to their religious values. The results of Box-Jenkins methodology show that ARIMA model with the value of (2, 1, 0) and Generalized Autoregressive Conditional Heteroskedasticity shows that GARCH with the value of (1, 1) are the best models for forecasting of KMI-30 in Pakistan. Hence, the study assists policy makers, practitioners and investors who desire to make alignment in their financial investment and religious values.","PeriodicalId":216725,"journal":{"name":"UCP Management Review","volume":"37 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-06-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126709452","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Many existing studies are particularly focused on the various manifestations of stress e.g. depression, anxiety, burnout, somatic illness etc. still there exists a debate regarding the similarities and differences among these stress dimensions. This study focused on measuring somatic stress, depression & burnout and tried to identify the relationship between these dimensions of stress using few stress instruments adapted to the sample of 274 teachers from few universities from KP province of Pakistan by using convenience based sampling. In addition, this study also aimed to get a better understanding of these dimensions of stress through semi-structured interviews. Study aimed to clarify the different facets of stress from the available literature and also addressed the stress measurement problems using mixed methods, particularly for the new entrants in this field. Results revealed significant positive relationships between emotional exhaustion & depersonalization. Emotional exhaustion also showed significant impact on depression and somatic stress. The results deduced from the semi-structured interviews supported the results deduced from the quantitative methodology. However, detailed interviews for the analysis purpose (in NVIVO or ATLAS) couldn’t be conducted which is one of the shortcomings of this study. Future researchers should give equal weight to both the methods i.e. quantitative as well as qualitative.","PeriodicalId":216725,"journal":{"name":"UCP Management Review","volume":"50 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-06-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126750491","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Marketers are aware of the emerging change and are very eager to attract as many customers as possible. The purpose of the research was to know about the influence of in-store sales promotion on the impulsive buying behavior of the readymade garment buyers. With the help of available literature in the area, a theoretical framework has been formulated. The data collected from the Centaurus Mega Mall of Islamabad shows that in-store sales promotion has an impact on impulse buying behavior. Further, the urge to buy impulsively plays the role of mediation. The study shows a full mediation making urge to buy impulsively the ultimate mediator between in-store sales promotion and impulse buying behavior. These findings have a collision with previous studies. Lastly, the paper also draws conclusions, discusses implications, and suggests a direction for future research.","PeriodicalId":216725,"journal":{"name":"UCP Management Review","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-06-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134081326","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
