Con este concepto de dispositivo es posible mejorar las condiciones del proceso de producción, como lo son: velocidad de corte, reducción de tiempo ciclo, rendimiento de la operación, reducción de costo de scrap, y reducción de tiempo muerto por sobre ajuste de proceso y cambio de modelo. Adicional, se hizo el desarrollo de un sistema de detección de pieza presente que permite captar cuando una pieza no es colocada correctamente en el dispositivo antes de iniciar el ciclo de corte, con esto es posible detectar fallas en el proceso que representen un riesgo para la operación. Durante la etapa de diseño se realizó una simulación del proceso de maquinado en condiciones extremas y condiciones ideales para medir la deformación de la pieza y con esto obtener los parámetros adecuados de corte para la puesta en marcha del dispositivo de sujeción. Para la validación del modelo, se realizó un estudio de habilidad de proceso Cpk y Ppk (acorde a los requerimientos de cliente) para evaluar que el nuevo proceso es eficiente y se encuentra bajo control.","PeriodicalId":216225,"journal":{"name":"REVISTA DE CIENCIAS TECNOLÓGICAS","volume":"190 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-11-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139282688","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Petrochemical plastics, which account for 80% of the world's total plastic use, are the main pollutants. With the growth of the population and its needs, the generation of polystyrene waste increases considerably. Expanded polystyrene (EPS) has a very low recycling rate; it is estimated that, of 125 thousand tons generated annually in Mexico, only 0.1% is recycled. The objective of this project is to obtain a preliminary diagnosis on the generation of EPS waste in the city of Misantla, Ver., which allows its post-consumer use as recycled raw material, under a circular economy approach. The methodological proposal for the development of this research was defined in the following steps: (1) characterization of the participating actors, from the Circular Economy approach; (2) identification of businesses that generate polystyrene as waste; (3) determination of the type of polystyrene generated; (4) estimation of the quantities of waste generated; (5) analysis in comparison with the generation of other types of waste; (6) generation of post-consumer use strategies. According to the 2019 Economic Census, in Misantla the economic sector with the largest number of economic units in the municipality is retail, where it is located, the sale of food in small establishments or street stores, these agents being identified as the main generators of polystyrene waste. A survey was applied to 96 companies, mainly in the food sector. The results of these surveys show that these establishments mainly use disposable products made of expanded polystyrene such as plates and cups, and that, in some cases, the use of disposable polystyrene products such as containers and spoons was identified. With the information collected, it is concluded that the use of disposable products generates approximately 765 kilograms of EPS waste. Unlike plastic waste, misinformation about the recycling of EPS, the lack of strategies for its collection and post-consumer use, as well as the lack of awareness for its recycling, give way to it ending up in final disposal sites, continuing with the trend framed in different investigations that maintain that its final destination is incineration. After the diagnosis, there is a concrete vision of the generation of polystyrene waste and future work is given in the generation and implementation of strategies that allow the use of post-consumer unicel for its return to the value chain.","PeriodicalId":216225,"journal":{"name":"REVISTA DE CIENCIAS TECNOLÓGICAS","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-11-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139287944","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Fossil-based energy is one of the main factors of environmental pollution. In Mexico, 77.24% of fossil-based energy is from stationary source combustion, 15.7% from industry processes and commercial activities, 6.64% from mobile sources, and 0.05% from agriculture and livestock activities. Specifically, manufacturing operations use 33.4%, of the total consumption of electricity and natural gas. Because the production of green energy is from naturally regenerating sources and does not emit greenhouse gases or compounds, decreases the environmental impact, and because they are able to apply to manufacturing operations, it is pertinent the efforts in this sense. The article presents the PRISMA 2020 as a methodology for searching between distinct databases and current research with the objective of identifying variables and their measurements so micro, small, and mid-size enterprises in Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico can develop collaboration strategies towards a sustainable manufacturing environment. However, their design and production processes often rely on conventional methods limiting equipment capabilities. Moreover, the empirical nature of their design can result in a lack of reliability in the final product. To address these challenges, this study aimed to validate the design of a packaging insert using the finite element method and subsequently create it using 3D printing. The chosen material is a thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) filament commonly used in fused deposition filament printers for 3D printing. This process demonstrates the feasibility of using 3D printing to create cushioning inserts for packaging and employing finite element analysis to simulate the insert behavior. The main findings of this research highlight the potential benefits of numerical simulation, revealing the areas where the insert is primarily impacted by weight. Furthermore, the forces load and displacement simulation results confirm that the TPU elastic limit (3.9x106 MPa) is sufficient to handle the weight this insert intends to hold. These tools determine the viability of the proposed design for its intended application. Therefore, this study verifies that 3D printing is a reliable option for producing packaging inserts, offering significant advantages over traditional methods. These advantages include increased design flexibility and the ability to create custom inserts on demand.","PeriodicalId":216225,"journal":{"name":"REVISTA DE CIENCIAS TECNOLÓGICAS","volume":"196 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139360678","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Tanto la longitud de la grieta como la temperatura se obtuvieron experimentalmente de ensayos de fatiga de acuerdo a la norma ASTM E647. La temperatura se midió simultáneamente a través de termopares y termografía infrarroja, mientras que la longitud de la grieta se midió a través de un microscopio. Los datos experimentales se procesaron para obtener curvas de ciclos contra temperatura y ciclos contra longitud de grieta para posteriormente correlacionar la información y obtener, por regresión lineal de los datos experimentales, un modelo para relacionar la temperatura con la longitud de la grieta. Los resultados muestran que el modelo propuesto está en buena concordancia con los datos experimentales y permite estimar la tendencia y la magnitud de la temperatura al crecer la grieta.","PeriodicalId":216225,"journal":{"name":"REVISTA DE CIENCIAS TECNOLÓGICAS","volume":"2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-03-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132521039","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Assessing the conditions of the educational space once inhabited can be fundamental to identifying environmental adjustments that could improve achievement in learning through design strategies in school facilities in the locality. The evaluation of the thermal and luminic conditions of three classrooms designed to function with natural ventilation, in two buildings of the Universidad Autónoma of Baja California, in Tijuana, Mexico, during the cold-warm transition period is presented. Physical measurements of environmental indicators were made, including temperature, relative humidity, and daylight. A total of 181 students completed the environmental survey questionnaires. This study aimed to evaluate the interior environmental space conditions and determine the influence on occupants' comfort. Results showed that more than 50% of the students were in a thermal discomfort situation when the temperature was out of the range of 19.7°C -27.7° C, consistent with the application of the ASHRAE Adaptative Comfort Zones. Daylight values were below the minimum required of 300 Lux for educational classroom specificity in [1, 2] of the three classrooms. Building's orientations, West and South registered illuminance values that could produce glare and increase thermal discomfort due to high solar radiation. The results confirmed the close relationship between environmental conditions and students' comfort in classrooms.","PeriodicalId":216225,"journal":{"name":"REVISTA DE CIENCIAS TECNOLÓGICAS","volume":"214 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116145057","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
