The system is comprised of several algorithms which are employed to provide effective identification of an individual based on the individual's Iris pattern. The proposed combines canny edge detector and circular Hough transform model algorithms which yield more rapid and accurate Iris boundaries localization. The eyelid and eyelashes occlusion is also dealt with by applying non maxima radial suppression technique. The segmented Iris area is then normalized with all iris templates converted from circular to rectangular shape of standard dimensions thus enabling comparison between them. Fast Fourier Transform function is then applied to normalized Iris image. The resulting matrix consists of real and imaginary part represented by complex numbers. The matrix is encoded by assigning a sequence of binary numbers to each possible combination of complex numbers thus producing Iris code. In the matching phase the degree of dissimilarity between the two Iris codes is determined. The experimental results show that the obtained high recognition accuracy is competitive with other existing methods.","PeriodicalId":216028,"journal":{"name":"2016 15th RoEduNet Conference: Networking in Education and Research","volume":"446 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-11-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122483157","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

While taking benefit of this new emerging technology, users' fear of losing command of their own data, is becoming a noteworthy hurdle to the extensive implementation of cloud services. Cloud service provider module is to process data owner request for storing data files and application and provides cloud users log details to data owner for audit purpose, to address this problem framework based on information accountability to keep track and trial of the authentic handling of the users' data in the cloud. Concurrently with technology enhancements that facilitated its widespread, Web 2.0 became the engine which hastened the appearance of worldwide mass communication techniques. Alongside its advent, textual analysis changed as new user-centered content failed to comply with traditional grammar ruling. In this paper, we approach the problem of topic extraction from Twitter in the context of designing a recommendation engine to best matching user profiles to news feed articles. We propose a strategy to extract the concepts by means of Natural Language Processing and use of the semantic cohesion measurements to leverage the matching process. In order to prove the adequacy of our method, we have conducted a medium-scale evaluation. Our results demonstrate the particularities of the Twitter textual corpora, as well as how it can be used to infer geo-locations for its users.","PeriodicalId":216028,"journal":{"name":"2016 15th RoEduNet Conference: Networking in Education and Research","volume":"10 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121264571","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We envision a pollution data acquisition system that can be made accessible to end users by including them in the collection process, not just presenting the results through web pages or applications. We propose a low-cost device, easily configurable by anyone, which measures gas levels, dust, temperature and noise. The users can deploy them at home, connect them to their local Wi-Fi network and see the pollution data in real-time through a web interface. We address the design challenges of such a sensing device and the iterations that lead to its current hardware and software components. The node can function as part of a system that collects and stores the data and makes it available in real-time to all its users.","PeriodicalId":216028,"journal":{"name":"2016 15th RoEduNet Conference: Networking in Education and Research","volume":"428 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116006828","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Our table of infrequent consonant clusters can be used to construct Romanian utterances for voice-based biometrics authentication platforms. The main message of our results is that one should go beyond the somewhat standard distribution of phones when describing the phonetical balance of the test phrases/utterances used in calibration of these platforms. To this end, we propose the distribution of clusters as the closest complementary statistical indicator. Our results are relevant for a wide range of voice-based cyber-security solutions.","PeriodicalId":216028,"journal":{"name":"2016 15th RoEduNet Conference: Networking in Education and Research","volume":"42 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128938997","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Clients are disturbed of the exaggeration of posting unrelated advertisement. Developers found a smart solution that solved their problem, the ad blocker, which stops the serving of advertisement. Because the number of ad block users is increasing fast, publishers find the impossibility of maintaining businesses on the Internet. A solution has to be found so that the online ecosystem will continue to give us an enormous amount of free information. In this paper, we surveyed the existing approaches and came up with two different solutions: the Whitelist UI that encourages whitelisting and the Proxy Service that is a transparent process for clients and achieves transmitting data in the presence of ad blocker.
