Hout","doi":"10.37190/msc192613","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.37190/msc192613","url":null,"abstract":"Block caving is an underground mining technique which extracts ore from the base, rather than from the top, of typically massive deposits. Mining infrastructure is developed below the deposit before extraction commences. A network of tunnels provides access to a collection of drawpoints from which ore is hauled. With large deposits, not all drawpoints are developed simultaneously and the opening of drawpoints is sequenced to facilitate orderly extraction of ore columns above drawpoints. Sequencing fixes the initiation point for the entire block cave, or a part of it, as well as identifying the direction of cave advancement. The drawpoint opening sequence exerts influence on the block cave mine economics. This paper discusses the optimisation of sequencing based on the net present value associated with extraction over the life-of-mine. It is shown that the maximum attainable net present value is obtained by a sequence in which ore columns are ranked in descending order of value. If significant variation of grade is present inside columns, an iterative procedure is given which corrects the sequence which yields the maximum net present value. The sequence with maximum net present value may not be practical or attractive from a caving perspective. Systematic design of sequences which permit orderly development of a block cave is discussed. To provide context, the net present value obtained from these feasible sequences is compared with the maximum attainable net present value. It is shown that the best feasible sequences are preferentially initiated in zones with columns of high-grade ore.","PeriodicalId":213542,"journal":{"name":"Mining Scince","volume":"62 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133197814","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In most mining activities, which sometimes contain the mining machinery, haulage costs form a major part of the operating expenses so that the issue becomes a matter of concern for mine managers. The process of selecting the haulage system is not a crystal clear one because of various factors affecting the selection, leading to the complexity and multi-criterion characteristic of it. Therefore, the use of multi-criterion decision-making methods can help to solve this problem. The TOPSIS, AHP, VIKOR methods among the multi-criterion decision-making methods are some options based on priority ranking. In this paper, the loading systems of conveyors, wagons and winches as well as the locomotives and wagons are investigated. Then, the aforementioned systems are used to make a hybrid based on eight criteria, which yields the best loading system for the Parvadeh coal mine in Tabas. In order to use the above methods, some integration techniques were utilized because the results were not consistent with each other in some cases. After integrating the results of the ranking methods, the conveyor haulage system was eventually introduced as the best option.","PeriodicalId":213542,"journal":{"name":"Mining Scince","volume":"43 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124750911","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Plum blossom jade and emerald were identified and analyzed by means of the conventional detection method, infrared spectroscopy and X-ray powder diffraction analysis. The results showed that plum blossom jade with black and brown background and red, white and brown amygdaloid body spots had a diameter of 1-10 mm, a relative density of 2.69-2.75 g/cm3 and a refractive index of 1.52-1.55, and its minerals contained water molecules, quartz, low albite, anorthoclase and andesite. It was observed that emerald was green, greasy, glassy, transparent, with a relative density of 2.66-2.78 g/cm3 and 1.58 refractive index, and its minerals contained water molecules; there were two kinds of arrangement in crystal channels. The main mineral component of emerald was beryl, and its purity was high.","PeriodicalId":213542,"journal":{"name":"Mining Scince","volume":"55 9","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114024152","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Such a problem has been a concern which still continues for a number of researchers who have been dealing with this issue, and wo still continue to be preoccupied with the issue of heavy metal (habitat) pollution in this part of Kosovo. Heavy metal’s contamination of the environment’s main components, dates back to the 1970s / 90s to this date. This pollution, especially of the rivers, is due to the industrial activity taking place in the Trepça Combine and the presence of industrial landfill sites of this Combine near the flow of two main rivers: the Sitnica and Ibër River waters, in the city of Mitrovica. The focus of our study, this time consists solely in the research and illumination of pollution with these heavy metals and waterworks of the Ibër River, as a result of the pollution caused by the industrial waste landfill located in Kelmend village. In the paper, we have attempted to show the concentration of heavy metals in sediment and water, by pointing at four sample sites of the Ibër river: in the Bosniak U1 neighborhood, then in the flow in front the U2 landfill, discharge flows from landfill U3 and a certain distance from the U4 landfill.","PeriodicalId":213542,"journal":{"name":"Mining Scince","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121881084","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
