Nagy, Said ِِِAttia","doi":"10.21608/jaesj.2022.156225.1011","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.21608/jaesj.2022.156225.1011","url":null,"abstract":"The present study was conducted during the two successive seasons 2019 and 2020 to determine the effects of pre harvest applications of ProTon, Ethrel, Lisophos individually or plus Aminoethoxyvinylglycine (AVG) (ProTon + AVG, Ethrel + AVG, and Lisophos + AVG) compared with control on the coloration and ripening of six years old Canino apricot ( Prunus armeniaca L.) trees in a private orchard at El-Bostan region, El-Behiara governorate, Egypt. The obtained results indicated that, the lowest number of leaves drop was recorded with LPE treatment whether alone or when was combined with AVG in consistent manner in both seasons. In similar manner AVG treatment did not cause any leaves drop in the tagged and treated branches in the two seasons. Applied Ethrel alone caused greater fruit abscission than ProTon. However, the combination of ProTon plus AVG resulted in more fruit abscission than that obtained with Ethrel plus AVG in the two seasons of the study. The highest increase in fresh fruit weight, stone weight and flesh weight were obtained by the application of LPE combined with AVG. The results indicated that, fruit size was increased significantly under the three treatments ProTon plus AVG or Ethrel plus AVG and LPE plus AVG and the individual treatment of lisophos. Ethrel alone or combined with AVG led to increase in TSS and reduce the electrolyte leakage percentage compared with the control. Even AVG alone reduced TSS in both increasing TSS/acid ratio in consistent manner in both seasons as compared with the control. The data revealed that all treatments resulted in significant reduction of chlorophyll a, b and carotene as compared with the control. The highest increase in total carbohydrates, reducing sugar, non-reducing sugar, total sugar and crude fiber were obtained in fruits that treated with Ethrel in both seasons followed by ProTon. A total of 180 unsexed broiler chicks ( Arbor Acres ) at the age of seven-day-old chicks were randomly divided into five treatments (36 chicks each) divided into six replicates (each replicate of six chicks). The first group was fed the basal diet (control); while the 2 nd , 3 rd , 4 th , and 5 th groups were fed the basal diet supplemented with 0.25, 0.50, 1.00, and 1.50 % pomegranate peel powder, respectively. Data revealed that treatment groups with supplemented different levels of pomegranate peel powder had greater productive performance, compared to the control group. All treatments with different levels of pomegranate peel powder increased total protein, globulin, RBCs, Hb, PCV, and WBCs ,while decreasing abdominal fat, AST, and ALT compared to the control group (within normal range). In conclusion, it can be considered that pomegranate peel powder supplementation in the diet improved the growth performance and physiological status of the broilers without any adverse effects on the blood parameters of broiler chicks. The results showed that treating the broilers by diets supplemented with different levels of pomegranate peel powder resulted in a significant increase (P=0.002) in blood hemoglobin concentration (Hb) when compared with the control group. Thus, the percentage of differences compared with the control mean was 139.16, 129.34, 138.83, and 128.16% for treated groups, respectively. At the end of the treatment period, the results in Table (6) showed that broiler’s PCV values were significantly affected (P=0.001) by different levels of pomegranate peel powder when compared with the control group. Thus, the percentage of differences compare to the control mean were 119.48, 116.37, 113.89 and 116.45 % for different levels of treated groups, respectively. Keratinolytic microorganisms have become biotechnologically important since they target the hydrolysis of highly rigid keratin. The main aim of the recent study was to isolate Aspergilli that have a keratinolytic activity. The keratinolytic fungi were isolated from three different places containing keratinous wastes. For cultivating these organisms, a solid-state fermentation (SSF) media was used containing feather as the only source of carbon and nitrogen. Then, we used Potato dextrose agar (PDA) media for purification and identification of isolates, by studying their culture and microscopic characteristics. Based on our results, we obtained four keratinolytic fungal species; namely, Aspergillus terreus, Aspergillus nidulans, Aspergillus niger , and Aspergillus fumigatus . The total protein content in the fermented media was measured using the method of Lowry. The hydrolysis of feathers by fungi resulted high amount of soluble protein from the insoluble hard keratin presented in chicken feather, which can be used as an organic fertilizer or as an ingredient in animal feed, reducing the environmental impact of feather waste from the chicken industry.
