Khvastunova","doi":"10.12731/2576-9782-2022-4-126-143","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.12731/2576-9782-2022-4-126-143","url":null,"abstract":"James Hughes, American sociologist and bioethicist, a founder of the movement of democratic transhumanism and Director of the Institute for Ethics and Emerging Technologies (IEET), is also a developer of a special original project which presupposes techno-optimism as its methodological foundation, more critical and pro-state approach to radical technologies (in contrast to the libertarian transhumanism previously promoted in the Extropian movement) and a strong bias towards attracting religious ideas and methods, especially the pro-Buddhist ones. This explains the interest of the scientist in religious practices and work on the “Cyborg Buddha” project. J. Hughes in his research analyzes American society along ideological axes and tries to combine them within the framework of democratic transhumanism (cyborg democracy). The latter must be approved at the state level and implemented through a special program. However, most of all, in promoting transhumanist ideas and creating a common cultural background, he relies on minority groups: from radical feminism (cyberfeminism), biopunk, supporters of LGBT movements, and to people with disabilities who will “benefit” from the experimental methods and radical transformations. The article deals with the issues of interethnic relations as the object of sociological analysis, it also shows the specifics of the study of this type of relations in sociology. The author aims at sociological analysis of interethnic relations in such a multiethnic region as the Trans-Baikal Territory which is characterized by the heterogeneity of its national composition. \u0000Method or methodology of study. The research is based on a comparative method and on such sociological methods as online and expert survey. \u0000Results. The results of the research are based on the materials of sociological study that shows the current state of interethnic relations in the considered subject of the Russian Federation. The author determines the attitude of residents of the Trans-Baikal Territory to a particular nationality, identifies the causes and prospects of interethnic conflicts in the Trans-Baikal Territory, presents an expert assessment of relations between various diasporas of the Trans-Baikal Territory, their individual representatives and the authorities. The author concludes that the Trans-Baikal Territory being a multiethnic subject of the Russian Federation is characterized by relative stability of relations between representatives of different nationalities. However, great attention should be paid by the regional authorities to the fact that interethnic conflicts are not excluded on the territory of the region. \u0000Scope of the results. The purpose of the study is to determine the place, meaning, perspectives of the computer game simulator “The Sims” in the cultural space of youth, supplemented by a new digital environment, and to establish the reasons for its 20-year success. \u0000Methodology. The main theoretical and methodological approaches to the review of a computer game are systemic and complex. The specifics of the study revealed the need for a cause-and-effect analysis of the studied phenomenon. \u0000Results. The sociocultural aspect of young people involvement in the computer game “The Sims” is primary. The esthetic aspect (graphics, technical characteristics, which have been getting better and worse over for 20 years) is secondary. Namely the experience of attempt “life situations”, building own world, relationships, yourself attracts young players. Gamers see the game as a unique philosophy and values, that they share with the creators of the game, which is a prerequisite for the emergence of a digital cultural community based on a particular game. Given the wide range of players and interest in computer games, it is important to study them in a cultural context, since psychological and other characteristics go by the wayside (a variety of people play computer games, which is not associated with any personal characteristics, for example, introversion, self-doubt). \u0000Practical implications. Astatyan","doi":"10.12731/2576-9782-2022-4-82-99","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.12731/2576-9782-2022-4-82-99","url":null,"abstract":"The relevance of the study is determined by the necessity to understand the mechanisms of formation within a society of socially significant ideas, beliefs and behavioral strategies. \u0000The aim is to interpret the notions of marriage that existed in China’s Pearl River Delta region among Zi-Shu-Nv girls who were known for choosing not to marry. \u0000Materials and methods. The article deals with the semiotic approach to the analysis of Zi-Shu-Nv marriage belief in Chinese culture. This belief is interpreted as a cultural text, part of semio-sphere. The method of analysis was the interpretation of the phenomenon based on deconstruction from the perspective of metalanguage theory with a focus on contextual metalanguage, interpretive competence metalanguage and textual metalanguage. \u0000Results. Each metalanguage is characterized by its own codes and rules. The article underlines the role of each metalanguage in the origin and development of Zi-Shu-NVs’ marriage belief. The authors come to the conclusion that this belief is an inevitable outcome under the influence of social, personal and textual peculiarities of its time. \u0000Practical implications. The purpose of this study is to identify and fix the nature of the changes associated with the emergence and subsequent change in the role of television within the sociocultural universe of modern man. An analysis of its features, characteristics and factors that are currently causing the most significant changes within this sphere, which actually creates its own “second reality”. \u0000Methodology. The study used the historical method, analysis of textual materials, as well as content analysis and cross-factor analysis of sources in terms of parameters that have content, the study of which was important to achieve the intended goal. To consider this problem, the author turns to the socio-philosophical and anthropological analysis of the role of the screen in modern culture. The article uses comparative analysis, historical-philosophical and anthropological methods. \u0000Results. This article explores the historical socio-cultural genesis of television as a mass media, from the moment the first television devices were created to the present. A number of modern views on the peculiarities of the influence of the fact of the appearance of television on the perception and consciousness of the viewer in the process of informing him through the television screen are consistently considered, and their comparison is made. Particular attention is paid to the analysis of the factors of influence of television on the foundations of modern mass culture formed by it. According to the results of the study, the origins and reasons for the gradual transformation of the main function of television from mass information to equally massive manipulation are identified and analyzed, within which the basic types of social impact and the formation of a different, television reality are identified.
