The granites are calc-alkaline and slightly metaluminous to peraluminous (A/CNK molar ratios = 0.91–1.84). On SiO 2 variation diagrams, they exhibit trends of decreasing Al 2 O 3 , TiO 2 , Fe 2 O 3total , MgO, CaO, and Sr and increasing Th. The REE patterns are slightly fractionated {(La/Yb) N = 1.89–2.24} with moderate negative Eu anomalies (Eu/Eu* = 0.33 – 0.58). On primitive-mantle normalized trace element diagram, the granites show negative Nb, Ta, Sr, and Ti anomalies. These geochemical traits suggest that the Sukari granites had evolved by fractional crystallization of plagioclase and ferromagnesian minerals in an island arc tectonic environment. Zircons separated from the Sukari granites are HREE-enriched with positive Ce-and","PeriodicalId":211963,"journal":{"name":"Alexandria Journal of Science and Technology","volume":" 8","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-07-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141671996","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Our proposed framework emphasizes the potential of Deep Learning Models (DLMs) in revolutionizing signature verification techniques and underscores the need for continuous exploration and advancement in the realm of automated signature authentication. Therefore, five pre-trained DLMs, ResNet50, DenseNet121, MobileNetV3, InceptionV3, and VGG16, based on four different datasets, CEDAR, BH-Sig260 Bengali, BHSig260 Hindi, and ICDAR 2011(Dutch),are introduced in this paper to verify the person identity. Furthermore, data augmentation techniques are applied to overcome dataset limitations and increase the framework's performance. Additionally, transfer learning and fine-tuning techniques are performed to reduce computational time and memory usage. It is observed that the InceptionV3 DLM based on the ICDAR 2011 (Dutch) achieved the best performance of 100% accuracy, 100% AUC and 100% sensitivity. While, CEDAR Dataset achieves performance with an accuracy of 99.76%, an AUC of 99.94%, sensitivity of 99.76%, precision of 99.76%, an F1-score of 99.71%, score, and a computational time of 13.627s.","PeriodicalId":211963,"journal":{"name":"Alexandria Journal of Science and Technology","volume":"38 38","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139011901","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Several factors trigger cell death and there are several mechanisms for this event such as apoptosis, autophagy, and ferroptosis. Ferroptosis as a novel type of programmed cell death is occurred due to cellular iron accumulation and the depletion in one of cellular antioxidant enzymes which is glutathione peroxidase 4 (GPX-4). Therefore, ferroptosis is characterized by lipid peroxidation and oxidative stress. Several metabolic pathways such as iron, amino acids, lipids metabolism, etc are considered as regulators for ferroptosis process. Several studies have proved the involvement of ferroptosis in lung diseases progression/depression that range from acute lung injury (ALI) to","PeriodicalId":211963,"journal":{"name":"Alexandria Journal of Science and Technology","volume":"81 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-08-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115290371","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Nanobiosorbents are mainly fabricated from agricultural, animal and industrial wastes. In the current investigation, bare corn cobs waste (BCCW) was pyrolyzed for 1 h (at 400 o C) to generate a sustainable, low-cost and ecofriendly nanobiosorbent (BCCW-NB) for further implementation as an effective material for removal of cationic basic fuchsin (BF) and methylene blue (MB) dyes from water. These challenges stemmed from the heterogeneity of tumor microenvironment, as well as genetic and epigenetic factors related to cancer cells. The changes imposed by the tumor lead to the development of acquired resistance. Drug efflux, inhibition of apoptosis and immunosuppression are examples of resistance mechanisms imposed by cancer cells. Nanotechnology has sought to overcome these resistance mechanisms through enhanced cellular uptake, activation of alternative pathways by combined drug delivery, or targeting immune cells leading to their activation and proliferation. Several types of nanomedicine-based systems were implemented; however, protein and peptide nanoparticles remain one versatile tool in drug delivery, providing preferable physicochemical and biological implications. Notably, protein and peptide nanocarriers can also exhibit enhanced cellular uptake, the possibility of tuned drug release, and hence, better tumor targetability. Here, we present the methods of fabrication, physicochemical characteristics, biological mplications, and future perspectives, focusing on overcoming cancer drug resistance","PeriodicalId":211963,"journal":{"name":"Alexandria Journal of Science and Technology","volume":"48 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-08-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116365292","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
