The simulator was developed in C/sup ++/ programming language and compiled on a DOS/Windows platform. It is a discrete-event simulator that has a user-friendly graphical user interface (GUI). The simulator has been tested and validated under different operational scenarios and shown to work well. It could run at both call and cell levels and in both Window and command line modes. The simulator functions comply with ATM Forum's PNNI specifications.","PeriodicalId":211510,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the Seventeenth National Radio Science Conference. 17th NRSC'2000 (IEEE Cat. The proposed scheme structure depends on the estimation of the interference using an adaptive line enhancer whose output represents a reference input to an adaptive noise canceller. The output of the noise canceller represents a course estimate of the desired speech signal with a moderate output signal to noise ratio. Then the output signal of the adaptive noise canceller is applied to another adaptive line enhancer to obtain a good estimate of the speech signal with high improvement factor in the output SNR of more than 40 dB.","PeriodicalId":211510,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the Seventeenth National Radio Science Conference. 17th NRSC'2000 (IEEE Cat. This technique consists of two components: an unsupervised clustering algorithm and a knowledge-based technique. The knowledge-based technique contains information on the cluster distribution in feature space and tissue models. This approach also provides a first step toward classification of normal and abnormal images.","PeriodicalId":211510,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the Seventeenth National Radio Science Conference. 17th NRSC'2000 (IEEE Cat. This approach is related to signal processing using higher order statistics (HOS). The paper also compares the results of using the new approach with other different used methods. The first method uses the signal x/sub k/ as an input to the ALE, and the second method uses x/sub k//sup 2/ as the input to the ALE. The results illustrate the superiority of the proposed method over the other two methods.","PeriodicalId":211510,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the Seventeenth National Radio Science Conference. 17th NRSC'2000 (IEEE Cat. We present a novel analytical solution of the set of hydrodynamic equations across semiconductor p-n junctions. In addition, we show whether the hydrodynamic model actually adds new information to our knowledge about carrier transport across semiconductor junctions, or simply results in some smoothing to the classical results we usually obtain using the drift-diffusion model. We demonstrate why the profile of the minority carrier distribution as well as the minority carrier current density are completely different from the classical drift-diffusion theory around the edges of space-charge regions. The analytical results are in close agreement with the exact numerical solution obtained by simulation.","PeriodicalId":211510,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the Seventeenth National Radio Science Conference. 17th NRSC'2000 (IEEE Cat. This is is due to an order issued by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) that mandates all wireless service providers to locate an emergency 911 caller within a high accuracy. Overlapping multipath propagation is one of the main sources of mobile-positioning errors, especially in fast channel fading situations. We present a mathematical framework for overlapping multipath propagation over fading channels, which leads to developing a block least squares method for overlapping multipath resolving.","PeriodicalId":211510,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the Seventeenth National Radio Science Conference. 17th NRSC'2000 (IEEE Cat. The results have shown that introducing the inverse filtering stage has improved the percentage of correct classification. Typical classification accuracy reaches 91% with no rejects, 98% with 8.1% rejects compared to the 87% with no rejects, 95% with 9.4% rejects obtained using the previously reported technique.","PeriodicalId":211510,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the Seventeenth National Radio Science Conference. 17th NRSC'2000 (IEEE Cat. The generated fuzzy binary sequences are shown to have good randomness properties and their length can be made extremely long. Such sequences are suitable for data encryption and for secure direct-sequence (DS) spread-spectrum (SS) systems. We also describe the generation of code families with good auto- and cross-correlation properties, which make them suitable for secure code-division multiple-access (CDMA) systems. Although the generated codes appear to be random and enjoy most of the properties of random codes, they are deterministic. In other words, they can be exactly regenerated by fixing the parameters of the fuzzy random number generator.","PeriodicalId":211510,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the Seventeenth National Radio Science Conference. 17th NRSC'2000 (IEEE Cat. Electromagnetic wave generation from elements of a cellular radiomobile system 由蜂窝无线移动系统的元件产生的电磁波

{"title":"Electromagnetic wave generation from elements of a cellular radiomobile system","authors":"A. Hassanin","doi":"10.1109/NRSC.2000.838982","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.1109/NRSC.2000.838982","url":null,"abstract":"Electromagnetic waves from the lower radio frequencies up through the optical spectrum can generate a myriad of effects and responses in biological materials at high radiation intensities, producing burns, cataracts chemical change, etc. Biological effects have been reported at lower radiation intensities, but it is not now known if low level effects are harmful. Most of the effects are not harmful under controlled conditions, and can thereby be used for therapeutic purposes and to make useful diagnostic measurements. The problem of the elements of a cellular radiomobile system penetrating materials and the resultant internal power absorption is approached from theoretical viewpoints. A comparison is made between the frequency of the Global Mobile System (GMS) for communications and the frequency of medical diagnostics. The transmission-line-matrix (TLM) method is applied to solve the problems of the field and absorption intensity with emphasis upon the general problems of microwaves. The results are discussed in terms of the field and absorption intensity effects of microwaves in biological tissues. Some results showing the effects of (GMS) and the medical diagnostic frequencies are discussed.","PeriodicalId":211510,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the Seventeenth National Radio Science Conference. 17th NRSC'2000 (IEEE Cat.
