In order to reduce the number of fuzzy rules and improve the performance of control system, we use the concept of fuzzy region to design the T-S fuzzy controller. First, we obtain the nonlinear state equations by the properties of the underactuated robot systems. Second, the T-S fuzzy model can be constructed by applying the process of the linearization. We apply the strategy of parallel distributed compensation (PDC) to design the controller. To guarantee the stability of the underactuated robot system, the linear matrix inequality (LMI) is derived using the Lyapunov stability theorem.","PeriodicalId":211049,"journal":{"name":"2011 9th World Congress on Intelligent Control and Automation","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115966847","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The new model considers the relative speed between vehicles and the change process of deceleration value. A simulation using Matlab software verifies that the new model overcomes inaccurate defects in computing safe-distance of the traditional models. Finally, we established an intersection traffic-wave simulation system using Visual C++ 6.0 as the software platform. Simulation results demonstrate that the new model produces better safe-distance prediction between vehicles. Hence, it improves road-use efficiency, reduces vehicle pollution and intersection delays under condition that the safety distance production is ensured. The new model can provide new ideas for control of signalized intersection.","PeriodicalId":211049,"journal":{"name":"2011 9th World Congress on Intelligent Control and Automation","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-06-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115421121","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The problem is how to design the local state feedback controller and observer of the new subsystem added into original large scale system, but not changing the decentralized state feedback control laws of original construction, so that both the new subsystem and the resultant expanded system are robust decentralized connective stable. First, the mathematical model of the large-scale system with expanding construction, which possesses the state observers, is analyzed. Then, the sufficient condition of the robust decentralized connective stabilization for the expanding construction of large-scale systems is deduced by taking Lyapunov theory and LMI approach, and the problem is transformed into how to solve a linear matrix inequality (LMI). The design Method of the organically-structured controller and observer of the expanding construction is given. So the compromise can be gotten between the control effect and the energy magnitude of control input. Firstly, the storage function is constructed according to the system model. Then, the passivity realization is completed for the model of synchronous generator by pre-feedback control. Finally, the bounded passivity-based controller is designed based on the passivity lemmas. In order to illustrate the effectiveness of the bounded passivity-based control, the simulations are performed to show that the closed-loop system can converge into the equilibrium states quickly.","PeriodicalId":211049,"journal":{"name":"2011 9th World Congress on Intelligent Control and Automation","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-06-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126601261","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, their performance will be deteriorated if the controlled system becomes nonlinear. Fuzzy PI controller generally has superior performances; however, their structures are somewhat more complicated. In this paper, a formula-type fuzzy PI controller is utilized. The presented fuzzy PI controller boasts the advantages such as simple and easy implementation. Moreover, their variable control gains are self-tuned formulas that have adaptive capability to handle nonlinearities of the given system. In this paper, the comparison between the presented fuzzy PI controller and the conventional one will be made and discussed. Simulation and experimental results will also be provided to verify the correctness of the presented technique.","PeriodicalId":211049,"journal":{"name":"2011 9th World Congress on Intelligent Control and Automation","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-06-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126861281","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
