The main reliability parameter is the probability of successful problem-solving in a computing environment with the following specified quality criteria: efficiency of the allocated resources use, and time, deadline or cost of executing jobs. We propose a new technology for testing and evaluating the reliability of functioning of problem-oriented heterogeneous distributed computing environments. It integrates models, representing different layers of knowledge about the environments, and special tools that automate a study of these environments. Applying such technology provides an increase in the reliability and efficiency of heterogeneous distributed computing environments by parametric adjusting of local resources managers installed in the environment nodes. Their adjustment is implemented on the base of the results of testing and evaluating obtained with the use of complex (conceptual, simulation, and semi-natural) modeling and meta-monitoring of computational resources.","PeriodicalId":210887,"journal":{"name":"International Workshop on Information, Computation, and Control Systems for Distributed Environments","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-08-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114079872","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The proposed approach presents the optimization of operational decisions in different power generation technologies as a Markov decision process. It uses a stochastic base model that optimizes a deterministic lookahead model. The first model applies the stochastic search to optimize the operation of power sources. The second model captures hourly variations of renewable energy over a year. The approach helps to find the optimal generation configuration under different market conditions.","PeriodicalId":210887,"journal":{"name":"International Workshop on Information, Computation, and Control Systems for Distributed Environments","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-08-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127456334","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In the model, the route for the group of vehicles must be determined on the extended time period to ensure regular and well-timed inspections of a set of tasks at scheduled intervals. The routes are limited by the speed limitation, onboard equipment and fuel capacity of the vehicles alongside with visitation frequency and equipment requirements of each task. Fuel capacity limitations force vehicles to recharge (refuel) at intervals using charging stations within the operation area. It is a problem of considerable practical interest to effectively route the heterogeneous group of vehicles under continuous rotation and in a dynamic environment with vehicle systems being subjected to malfunctions and unforeseen events. We propose two-level architecture for the group control system to coordinate cooperative vehicle actions during long-term multi-objective missions: while the high-level planner is designed to dynamically adjust fail-safe refuelling schedules for the vehicles in the group, the low-level planner is aimed to the accurate generation of the local group routes ensuring well-timed accomplishment of all tasks under technical constraints.","PeriodicalId":210887,"journal":{"name":"International Workshop on Information, Computation, and Control Systems for Distributed Environments","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-08-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128028612","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

There is a large spectrum of tools for the simulation modeling of such systems. However, these tools often do not use the possibilities of subject-oriented high-performance computing in full. The purpose of the study is the development of the new tools for automation of the simulation modeling of queue systems in a heterogeneous distributed computing environment. To this end, we develop specialized applications for parameter sweep computations in such an environment. A methodology of the application development is based on the integrated use of methods of the conceptual and wireframe programming, methods of the computations planning and resources allocation, methods of parameter sweep computations, and methods of the data analysis. We develop the toolkit named SIRIUS III for the simulation modeling of queue systems using high-performance computing. In addition, we design a conceptual model that represents knowledge about both the subject domain of solved problems and computing environment. Using the proposed toolkit, we solved a number of problems related to warehouse logistics. Computational experiments showed the high scalability of parameter sweep computations on heterogeneous resources.","PeriodicalId":210887,"journal":{"name":"International Workshop on Information, Computation, and Control Systems for Distributed Environments","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-08-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122424108","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
