Один из предложенных механизмов образования мелкомасштабных структур, предсказывающий их образование по порядку величины, основан на выявлении максимумов волновых чисел неустойчивостей поверхности расплава [1]. Рассмотрим наиболее простую геометрию эксперимента [3], рис. а, позволяющую пояснить наиболее вероятный механизм формирования таких структур в рамках универсальной поляритонной модели, связанный с возбуждением лазерным излучением (ЛИ) и участием в интерференции локализованных поверхностных плазмон поляритонов (ППП) [2].
