The resultant codes have accurate profile with the additional features of making them suitable for incremental redundancy systems. The proposed codes also have low encoding complexity and can be decoded efficiently. Moreover, these codes show better puncturing performance than irregular LDPC codes obtained by other techniques over a wide range of code rates (0.6~0.9) and become more distinctive at higher rates.","PeriodicalId":208094,"journal":{"name":"2010 17th International Conference on Telecommunications","volume":"68 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-04-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126332545","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Previously, the interference temperature was announced to limit the transmit power of SUs. However, in 2007 the FCC has abandoned the concept which is not workable. To communicate orally, the majority of the Algerians ingeniously combine several languages, but they seriously do not master the writing of any of these. Is this a wealth or a linguistic anarchy? To elude this question, we concentrated our cogitation on the elaboration of a technical, scientific and economic V-Learning model, inserting this tradition. Among those, HMM-based algorithms have the best performance. However, there is still room for improvement. In this paper, we propose two distributed cooperative location estimation algorithms, D-COOLEST1 and D-COOLEST2, for HMM-based location estimation. The users are designed to exchange their observations and estimation results with each other after random encounters which allows them to further improve the accuracy of their location estimation. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first work in the literature to propose the theoretical framework for user cooperation in probabilistic location estimation. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithms can significantly improve the estimation accuracy and reduce the normalized mean squared error (MSE).","PeriodicalId":208094,"journal":{"name":"2010 17th International Conference on Telecommunications","volume":"120 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-04-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123162043","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The proposed stochastic model is based on the scintillation theory and derived via the product of two Weibull random variables. Closed-form expressions of probability and cumulative density functions are provided in terms of Meijer's G-function. We also compare the new model with the classical gamma-gamma model and assess their accuracy via a set of simulations when both plane and spherical waves are considered. We finally evaluate the performance of an FSO system over the Double-Weibull turbulence channel and derive closed-form expressions for the bit-error rate, assuming intensity-modulation/direct detection with On-Off keying, and the outage probability.","PeriodicalId":208094,"journal":{"name":"2010 17th International Conference on Telecommunications","volume":"16 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-04-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121065211","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To support service for long wireless distance, RF amplifier and high gain antenna is integrated to the photonic antenna concept. High speed feature is achieved through utilization of simultaneous multi-channel WLAN transmitted through the photonic antenna. Using this notion, the use of four simultaneous channels can potentially provide 216 Mbps at 5 km and 120 Mbps at 7.7 km. Utilization of two simultaneous channels is potentially capable of supporting 108 Mbps at 13.4 km and 72 Mbps at 16.3 km. The speed can be increased if modified WLAN protocol, such as Nstreme2, is employed. These results are significantly higher speed compared to current common practice. This study also remarks that the downlink side is the performance limiter of the photonic antenna system, therefore become the priority to be optimized. Cognitive radio can be adopted to improve the optical link bandwidth utilization and increase aggregate data rate.","PeriodicalId":208094,"journal":{"name":"2010 17th International Conference on Telecommunications","volume":"29 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-04-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126450785","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this work, theoretical analysis of a series of reuse partitioning approaches is carried out, which contains the well-known Soft Frequency Reuse (SFR) scheme, the novel Enhanced Fractional Frequency Reuse (EFFR) scheme and two EFFR-derivatives, namely the EFFR-Advanced scheme and the EFFR-Beyond scheme. Based on the Carrier to Interference plus Noise Ratio (CINR) computation, we give the maximal cell radius and reasonable boundary definitions for division different user-type zones by using each of these reuse partitioning schemes. Through numerical evaluations, cell coverage and mean cell capacity of these schemes under two different propagation conditions are exhibited. The results show that the EFFR series can outperform the SFR and the conventional reuse schemes under any propagation mode. Furthermore, among all EFFR schemes, the EFFR-Advanced scheme with an adequate resource allocation may be the best solution for CCI mitigation, which can achieve not only the 100% cell coverage but also significant cell capacity enhancement.","PeriodicalId":208094,"journal":{"name":"2010 17th International Conference on Telecommunications","volume":"46 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-04-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114814250","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Applications in these environments share the need of operation without human intervention, which imposes autonomy and efficiency in executing their tasks, even under critical environmental conditions. Besides the traditional WSN physical limitations, their utilization as a source of collecting data in challenging environments requires the ability to support real-time observations of the monitoring environment. These observations should consider not only environment unpredictability with respect to mobility but also the variable amount of nodes and collected data. To deal with that, in this paper we propose a delay-sensitive strategy, which aims to enable WSN for monitoring challenging environments, taking into account real-time data constraints as well as mobility and limitations of the sensor nodes. This strategy is implemented in a new routing protocol, called PROST.","PeriodicalId":208094,"journal":{"name":"2010 17th International Conference on Telecommunications","volume":"69 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-04-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131068207","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Furthermore, the model assumes long-range dependent (LRD) traffic arrivals to the OBS intermediate node which are accurately modeled by Pareto distribution. In our proposed model, each output port is imitated by a GI/M/w/w queue for which a single performance measure; namely the burst loss probability, is evaluated from the model equations. Also, results of this model are compared with those obtained while assuming short-range dependent (SRD) Poisson arrivals to the core node in the two cases of no and full wavelength conversion. Finally, results show that traditional Poisson traffic models yields over-optimistic performance measures in terms of lower burst loss probability when compared to the more accurate long-range dependent Pareto traffic model. This discrepancy between the two models is much clearer for light traffic scenarios due to the more significant impact of self-similarity.","PeriodicalId":208094,"journal":{"name":"2010 17th International Conference on Telecommunications","volume":"12 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-04-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128127474","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
