Indeed, the true potential for generating revenue from mobile data services will only be realized if network operators can guarantee delivery of the level of security their demand. A serious challenge for global roaming between independent 3GPP networks is how best to confederate the various network service providers, each having different trust and policies with individuals and each supporting their own security algorithms for authentication. Due to the fact that security algorithms used to authenticate UMTS subscriber are up to your_home_operator, there are some roaming issues which could cause high roaming cost for the user. This paper concentrates on these roaming issues in the 3GPP security architecture and provides solutions to them by using COPS and the UMM (unified mobility manager) architecture. We propose using an identity provider together with the UMM architecture to improve the authentication mechanism when roaming reduce the roaming cost and provide opportunities to generate more revenues for service operators. We connect portable medical devices and a healthcare gateway via Zigbee which is alow-cost, long-battery-life, and easy-to-setup wireless transmission protocol. Then we convert the Zigbee medical devices into UPnP devices which can be discovered and configured automatically. Finally we manage the software in the healthcare gateway by OSGi with TR-069, so service provider can maintain the system and fix problem without truckroll to user's home. Moreover, to improve the usability, we implement a TV user interface by leveraging the benefit of MHP. The context-aware profiles allow mobile users to express their personal preferences for particular situations they encounter when using a WIS. We argue that the preferences and the needs of a mobile user may vary according to the context in which he uses the system. By defining these profiles, we propose a filtering process that takes into account both the user's current context and the user's preferences for this context. In such environments where the wireless network consists of numerous nodes, like intelligent devices, sensors and mobile devices, a highly secured and well defined identity (id) management system is required that deals with issues like virtual and temporary identities of users and devices as well as userspsila awareness in information disclosure and privacy. One major goal of the EU-project HYDRA (ldquoNetworked Embedded System middleware for heterogeneous physical devices in a distributed architecturerdquo) is the support of developers of such ambient environments to manage context sensitive identity information and assure integration and interoperability of existing ID management approaches. These applications share a common problem; the continuous calculation and transmission of GPS fixes from the mobile phone to a server consumes a considerable amount of energy and increases data transmission costs. Therefore, an application-level algorithm is necessary to reduce the number of GPS fixes calculated and transmitted, while continuing to track the user in real-time and record an accurate representation of his or her travel path. In this paper, two complementary algorithms are presented: the critical point (CP) algorithm, which filters data points to be transmitted to the server, and the location-aware state machine, which dynamically manages the frequency of the location re-calculation update rate. To realize the holistic vision of ubiquitous computing wepsilare, however, missing its global synergy: ldquohow to use the context knowledge smartly to find and securely access the right information, resources or services in a highly dynamic and heterogeneous domains, i.e.ubiquitous adaptability, and the convenient way to utilize these services, information or resources and provide them with minimal disturbance to the user, i.e. the adaptability approachrdquo. We claim that these limitations represent the main bottleneck for the widespread uptake of Ubicomp. The results are based on street interviews of 40 mobile phone users that were conducted in India and Europe.
