There were obtained by hybridization to produce variabilities in genotypic and phenotypic characters. The aim of the study was to describe genetic and phenotypic variabilities of 10 varieties of gerbera from hybridization. The study was conducted in Indonesian Ornamental Crops Research Institute, from March until August 2017. Design of the research was Random Completely Block Design. Observations were made for both quantitative and qualitative characters. The quantitative characters were consisted of leaf length, leaf width, petiole length, peduncle length, peduncle diameter, flower head diameter, diameter of first inner ray florets, disc floret diameter, outer ray floret length, outer ray floret width, and height of involucre flower head. Qualitative characters were consisted of intensity of anthocyanin coloration at base peduncle, anthocyanin coloration at top peduncle, flower head type, anthocyanin coloration at distal part of inner bracts flower head, outer ray floret shape. Other characters observed were profile in cross section of middle part of ray at outer ray floret, color of inner side at outer ray floret, number of color of outer ray floret, dark disc (before opening of disc floret), main color of perianth lobes at disc floret of outer rows, and color of top relative to other parts of pappus. The result indicated that value of genetic variabilities was high for flower head diameter, diameter of first inner ray florets, disc floret diameter, outer ray floret length, and outer ray floret width. Phenotypic variability value was high for all characters. The heritability value was about 1.47% until 94.63%. The heritability value was high for leaves width, petiole length, flower head diameter, diameter of first inner ray florets, disc floret diameter, outer ray floret length and outer ray floret width. While, the moderate heritability was obtained for peduncle length and height of involucre flower head. Characters obtained with low heritabilitywere leaves length and peduncle diameter.","PeriodicalId":20642,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the International Seminar on Promoting Local Resources for Sustainable Agriculture and Development (ISPLRSAD 2020)","volume":"116 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-06-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"74893759","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The sample was chosen through random sampling, from 4 districts in Bengkulu Province. The total sample was 80 beef cattle smallholder farmers. Data were collected based on structured questionnaires as primary data and literature review and relevant sources were used as secondary data. Data were analysed descriptively and correlation regression was used to analyze the relationships among parameters. The result shows the majority of farmers in these districts possess Bali cattle; women had a lower adoption percentage than men. Our findings also showed that 88,75% is the active age group (25-60 years of age), have enough knowledge and practices, and capability to make suitable decisions to adopt AI technology. The level of education, family size, farming experience, herd size did not significantly (P>0.05) affect AI adoption, while the age and the knowledge of AI significantly (P<0.05) affected the adoption of AI technology. Difficulty in oestrus detection repeated failure during insemination, higher charges for AI and the distance of the AI centre from the village were the main reasons for smallholder farmers did not adopt the AI technology.","PeriodicalId":20642,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the International Seminar on Promoting Local Resources for Sustainable Agriculture and Development (ISPLRSAD 2020)","volume":"6 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-06-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"82040087","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this study, a bacterium capable of secreting siderophores was isolated from the iron deficiency rhizosphere agriculture soil from Salem district, Tamil Nadu, India. The isolate was identified as Bacillus subtilis (LSBS2) based on biochemical characteristics and 16S rRNA gene sequences analysis. The siderophores production ability of the strain was evaluated qualitatively and quantitatively through Chrome Azural S assay. The TLC analysis of the LSBS2extract developed brown colour spots indicating catacholate type of siderosphore of isolate had the ability to produce 20 mg L -1 of siderophores in liquid medium. Further, the siderophores was partially purified and identified as bacillibactin type using HPLC, FTIR and the bacillibactin structure was confirmed by 2D-NMR analysis. Furthermore, a field experiment was conducted with Arachis hypogaea to assess the inoculation effect of LSBS2 on plant growth and other physico-chemical parameters. Inoculation of LSBS2 increased plant biomass, pigment content, nutrients, Iron content and oil content than the uninoculated control. The present result suggested that the occurrence of bacillibactin type siderophores in strain LSBS2 play a key role in iron chelation and favors the healthy growth of Sesamum indicum . Therefore, the strain LSBS2 could be exploited as a potential bioinoculant for stimulating peanut plant immunity.","PeriodicalId":20642,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the International Seminar on Promoting Local Resources for Sustainable Agriculture and Development (ISPLRSAD 2020)","volume":"18 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-06-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"88598696","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Broiler chickens aged 35 days were distributed into four treatment groups based on levels of red dragon fruit peel supplementation (0 g per head; 2.43g per head; 3.64g per head and 4.86 g/head). The birds were loaded into plastic crates and transported for three hours. After a – three hour road transportation, the chickens were unloaded to measure respiration rate, rectal temperature and body weight loss. Blood samples were collected for changes in selected hematological parameters. Respiration rates and rectal temperatures were monitored before and after transportation process. The broilers were weighed before and after transportation. During transportation, the temperature and humidity were ranging from 33,55 – 35,6 ̊C and 60,25 – 64 %, respectively. There were no significant effects of dragon fruit peel supplementation on physiological responses and weight loss. The number of leukocytes and erythrocytes were not different from those of control broilers. Similarly, levels of hemoglobin and hematocrit values were not affected by supplementation of red dragon fruit peel. Measurements of leukocyte differentiation showed insignificant different; thus, the supplementation did not affect ratio of heterophyl: lymphocyte of broilers. In conclusion, supplementation of dragon fruit peel did not affect physiological responses and blood profile of broiler chicken subjected to transportation stress.","PeriodicalId":20642,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the International Seminar on Promoting Local Resources for Sustainable Agriculture and Development (ISPLRSAD 2020)","volume":"24 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-06-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"90802759","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
