Algorithms for color space segmentation, quantification and automatic diagnosis are described. Different color spaces (RGB, HSV,YIQ, YCbCr, Lab) were considered in order to develop and algorithm both efficient (in terms of bacilli and cluster segmentation) and robust against noise and varying illumination conditions in the image. The combination of YCbCr and Lab color spaces offered the best results, with a sensitivity of 90.9% and a specificity of 100%, which represents an improvement when compared with previous works. To achieve better coding efficiency, H.264/AVC uses several techniques such as inter mode and intra mode prediction with variable size motion compensation, which adopts Rate Distortion Optimization RDO). This increases the computational complexity of the encoder especially for devices with lower processing capabilities such as mobile and other handheld devices. In this paper, we propose an algorithm to reduce the number of mode and sub mode evaluations in inter mode prediction. However, in fundus images the contrast between retinal blood vessels and the background is very low. Hence, analyzing or visualizing tiny blood vessels is difficult. Fluorescein angiogram overcomes this imaging problem but it is an invasive procedure that leads to other physiological problems. In this work, we enhance the low contrast of retinal vasculature in the ocular fundus image by determining the retinal pigments makeup, namely haemoglobin, melanin and macular pigment using independent component analysis. Independent component image due to haemoglobin pigment obtained exhibits higher contrast retinal vasculature. Even though the fundus fluorescein angiograph method produces higher contrast images, results show that this approach outperforms other noninvasive enhancement method, such as contrast limited adaptive histogram equalization and can be beneficial for vessel segmentation. Contrast enhancement factor of 3.2 for digital retinal images is achieved. Our technique transforms pixels in the curve coordinate system into the planar coordinate system. In the experiments,the test document images composed various font styles and size sprinted in common text books. The validity of our methods compares with the program's curvature correction of Abby FineReader Professional 9.0. Our technique outperforms the other up to 49 percent for word and character precisions. Nevertheless, our technique is independent on document contents, page layout, and font styles. Our approach falls in category of histogram based thresholding methods. From image we first construct a correclative histogram, based on intensity of image pixels and the average intensity of pixel neighbourhood. The proposed histogram is more informative than common intensity histogram for segmentation. Then we model the obtained histogram using a mixture of Gaussian functions. We estimate the parameters for Gaussian mixtures using Particle Swarm Optimization algorithm. At the first step cardiac region is found in full short-axis cardiac MRI data. Finding the cardiac region in full short-axis images for the next step we could segment left ventricular cavity and then finding the area of left ventricular. Our new method results in a very good determination of left ventricular cavity. Also the graph of area changes of left ventricular in short-axis MRI data leads us to a very good analytic tool for interpretation of heart problems and analyzing the left ventricular states. Finally, an experiment is conducted. In this paper, we propose a new defect detection algorithm based on multifractal. Then, some suitable features are extracted and presented to neural network for classification.
