Various concentrations of N, N’- methylene bis acrylamide (MBA) as crosslinkers were used to determine their effect on swelling in various pH. Variation of crosslinker concentrations caused changes in the hydrogel structures and thus affected the swelling ratio. The polymerizations were conducted successfully, which was proven by the loss of the C=C and C-H sp2 alkene peaks on FTIR spectra. Morphology characterization with SEM was observed on IPN PNMA hydrogel and it was found that it had pore size in the range of 400–700 nm. Swelling test was carried out at room temperature and pH 3, 5, 7, 9, and 12. Swelling ratios of IPN hydrogels were found to be higher than homopolymer hydrogel because the presence of the second network. The highest swelling ratio in different pH for PNMA and IPN hydrogels was found at pH 5.","PeriodicalId":20561,"journal":{"name":"PROCEEDINGS OF THE 6TH INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM ON CURRENT PROGRESS IN MATHEMATICS AND SCIENCES 2020 (ISCPMS 2020)","volume":"65 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-07-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"84926249","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

ThorCon MSR (TMSR500) is this kind of reactor projected to be built in Indonesia. Due to a limited number of proven operating reactors and limited knowledge of reactor characteristics, several aspects have to be studied, such as neutronic features, material, fuel circulation, fuel management, etc. This paper reveals some important neutronic safety features of MSR, referring to ThorCon design, such as temperature reactivity feedback of fuel, moderator, and reflector. Void reactivity feedback and neutron energy spectrum behavior during voiding were also examined by performing MCNP6 calculations and nuclear data ENDF/B-VII. Full core geometry was modeled, and the drift effect was not taken into account. Neutron flux and power density distribution were also addressed. The purpose of this paper is to review the aforementioned important safety parameters by doing the Monte Carlo code calculations. The results indicated that the core induces negative reactivity feedback due to temperature increase in fuel and moderator, but positive for temperature increase in the reflector. The temperature reactivity coefficient of fuel, moderator, and reflector exhibited −5.82×10−3 (%dk/k)/°C, −9.68×10−4 (%dk/k)/°C, and +1.84×10−4 (%dk/k)/°C, respectively. The introduction of void in the core either as a result of boiling or pump cavitation would induce positive reactivity of +0.115 (%dk/k)/(%void). Overall, the temperature reactivity coefficients exhibited large negative, and there is a comfortable margin between the operating temperature to the boiling point that might prevent void generation due to fuel boiling.","PeriodicalId":20561,"journal":{"name":"PROCEEDINGS OF THE 6TH INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM ON CURRENT PROGRESS IN MATHEMATICS AND SCIENCES 2020 (ISCPMS 2020)","volume":"10 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-07-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"89820032","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Most Ocean acidification (OA) experimental is carried out in a laboratory by creating a simple system. In this research, the seawater in tank is given CO2 gas regulated using a needle valve driven by stepper motors using Proportional-Integral-Derivative (PID) controller. This tank is equipped with a stirrer to accelerate the system’s homogeneity, flow sensor, and pH sensor. Arduino as a system control is tasked to regulate stepper motors, reading and keeping the pH value according to the set point value while recording the changes of pH value occurring in the tank. This research shows that the system can reach a desired set point and maintain it with 1.7 % overshoot. From the experimental results, OA system has a good response with a final pH value of 7±0.09 that can also be concluded this system is very suitable for long-term research.","PeriodicalId":20561,"journal":{"name":"PROCEEDINGS OF THE 6TH INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM ON CURRENT PROGRESS IN MATHEMATICS AND SCIENCES 2020 (ISCPMS 2020)","volume":"99 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-07-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"74215128","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The simple stereo camera system that can provide stereoscopic images in both as a picture (PNG) or as a video (AVI) is developed. The system comprises a stereo camera, a USB connector, a tripod, and a notebook with programming language of Python 3.7, along with the free library of OpenCV 4.0 installed inside the notebook. The system has successfully provided both images and videos. However, the spatial resolution and the frame rate depend to the specifications of the stereo camera being used. The camera resolution of 1280 × 360 with a frame rate of 5 fps is obtained based on the stereo camera specifications in this study. The disparity of the stereo camera as a function of distance of the camera to the object of interest is measured. From the experimental results, the p constant is 1059.4, q constant is -0.527 over a distance of 10–100 cm. It shows that farther the object from the camera, the disparity decreases. This system will be used for performing physical measurement in the future.","PeriodicalId":20561,"journal":{"name":"PROCEEDINGS OF THE 6TH INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM ON CURRENT PROGRESS IN MATHEMATICS AND SCIENCES 2020 (ISCPMS 2020)","volume":"31 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-07-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"88309381","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Propensity score is one of the known methods to allows an observational study emulating certain characteristics from that of a randomized trial. The most common method used to estimate this score is the logistic regression model. Logistic regression can be used to model the probability of a certain event. With the advancement that is happening to spatial statistics, one can also build a logistic regression model that takes into consideration to that of spatial dependence. Thus, accommodate the spatial effect that is likely happening on observation data that came from different places. Problem arises from this model, that is the estimation of the parameters on the spatial logistic model. EM algorithm which is needed for this problem, still requires another adjustment since the expectation in the E-step is not available in closed form. Variational method modification is then proposed as an alternative for this problem. This paper reviews the propensity score estimation using spatial logistic regression and discusses the variational method as an alternative method to tackle the problem in estimating the parameters on the spatial logistic regression model in a theoretical study.","PeriodicalId":20561,"journal":{"name":"PROCEEDINGS OF THE 6TH INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM ON CURRENT PROGRESS IN MATHEMATICS AND SCIENCES 2020 (ISCPMS 2020)","volume":"24 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-07-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"84050129","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
