Angle resolved photoluminescence measurements with nonresonant excitation show enhanced emission from the k /spl ap/ 0 states as the electron density is increased. By means of such a single quantum dot photodiode we demonstrate the transfer of coherent optical excitations into deterministic photocurrents. Rabi oscillations are shown to be directly reflected in the photocurrent. Specific spectral signatures have allowed to distinguish at the single molecule level between molecular dimers representing strong and weak electronic dipole-dipole coupling.
