In particular, on the basis of scientific publications the peculiarities of professional development of teachers are covered and the necessity of active position of teachers in the choice of advanced training courses, their content and form as one of the ways of advanced training is substantiated. The expediency of using distance learning of teachers and the insufficient level of readiness of teachers and educational institutions to introduce distance learning, which was clearly confirmed by the long quarantine due to the pandemic COVID-19. Some results of the statistical analysis of the generalized portrait of the teacher-listener of advanced training courses in the center of innovative educational technologies of the Lviv Polytechnic National University are presented. In particular, the analysis of the demand of Ukrainian teachers for advanced training courses in the areas of training and acquisition of certain skills, quantitative indicators of the dynamics of teachers who have experience of distance learning. The advantage of the need to learn about interactive and digital technologies is revealed. The main features of the organization of distance learning in the center of innovative educational technologies of the Lviv Polytechnic National University for school teachers are revealed, namely the emphasis on the practical orientation of courses, the ability of teachers to create their own collection of didactic and methodological materials using innovative and digital technologies, which can be used immediately.
