The translation system communicates with the user through a virtual signer: the system takes as input a formal representation of a sign language sentence and produces the corresponding animation of the avatar. The architecture of the virtual signer consists of a resource planner, an executor of the planned sign animations, and an animation system.","PeriodicalId":203206,"journal":{"name":"2011 International Conference on Complex, Intelligent, and Software Intensive Systems","volume":"113 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134328405","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper introduces a formal model for the distribution of goods to customers with stochastic demands aiming at timely and entire order fulfillment and utilizing constrained resources efficiently. For such (multi-)periodic routing problems with stochastic demands the sequence of customer visits on the basis of day tours for a one week planning period needs to be determined in advance. The problem type under consideration is constrained by truck capacity, driving time and customer preferences for the frequency of deliveries. In a computational study two metaheuristics are applied to 18 problem instances based on real world data and to 36 synthetic instances with up to 50 customers varying capacities, clustering and demand properties systematically.","PeriodicalId":203206,"journal":{"name":"2011 International Conference on Complex, Intelligent, and Software Intensive Systems","volume":"76 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133523349","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Although mobile wireless network is easy to reconstruct than wired network, there may be the case that network disconnection is not affordable after disaster. That is, Disaster Information System needs a robust Never Die Network (NDN) which will be unaffected by any changes in environment after severe disaster. Satellite Network System is one of possible solution for such a severe disaster, but it has some problems like low throughput, large latency, high cost, and so on. On the other hands, single wireless communication like IEEE802.11a/b/g also have some problems like a possible transmission distance, throughput limitation for maintaining QoS for urgent user's situations. Therefore, NDN needs to consider about additional functions for these problems of Satellite and Wireless Network System. In this paper, we introduce Satellite System for optimal transmission control method in Cognitive Wireless Network in order to consider with severe disaster. First, as our previous study, proper wireless link and route selection is held by Extend AHP and Extend AODV with Min-Max AHP value methods for optimal transmission control in Cognitive Wireless Network. Then, check-alive function, alternate data transmission function, possible alternative route suggestion, and network reconfiguration are introduced to our proposed Disaster Information Network by using Satellite System. In the simulation, ns2 are used for the computational results to the effectiveness of the suggested transmission methods in the hybrid system of cognitive wireless and satellite network system.","PeriodicalId":203206,"journal":{"name":"2011 International Conference on Complex, Intelligent, and Software Intensive Systems","volume":"20 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122060916","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Accurately identifying the aberrant features at a particular location of clinical ultrasound images is important to find the possibly damaged tissues. Unfortunately, it is difficult to exactly detect the regions of interest (ROIs) from relatively low quality of clinical ultrasound images. The presented evolutionary optimization algorithm presents a novel approach to building features for automatic liver cirrhosis diagnosis using a genetic algorithm. The extracted features provide several advantages over other feature extraction techniques which include: automatically construct feature set and tune their parameters, ability to integrate multiple feature sets to improve the diagnosis accuracy, and ability to find local ROIs and integrate their local features into effective global features. As compared with past approaches, we span a new way to unify the processing steps in a clinical application using the evolutionary optimization algorithms for ultrasound images. Experimental results show the effectiveness of the proposed method.","PeriodicalId":203206,"journal":{"name":"2011 International Conference on Complex, Intelligent, and Software Intensive Systems","volume":"26 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122113503","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Rule-based systems are however inherently domain specific requiring strategic rules design to address the requirements specification for the problem under consideration. Rule-based systems fall into two (general) types: traditional and fuzzy rule-based systems. This paper considers rule types and strategies with an introduction to logic systems as they apply to the approach proposed in this paper and an overview of related research. Consideration is given to the principles that underlie rule-based system design. The novel Context Processing Rules and Fuzzy Event Condition Action rules are presented with an evaluation and proof-of-concept. This paper posits that fuzzy rule-based systems provide an effective approach to enable context processing with constraint satisfaction in pervasive intelligent context-aware systems with decision-support.","PeriodicalId":203206,"journal":{"name":"2011 International Conference on Complex, Intelligent, and Software Intensive Systems","volume":"13 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121722389","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In order to detect an event, a sensor network has to identify which application-specific incident has occurred based on the raw data gathered by individual sensor nodes. Sensor networks are a sensing, computing and communication infrastructure that are able to observe and respond to phenomena in the natural environment and in our physical and cyber infrastructure. In this paper, we propose a sensor network with mobile and static sensor nodes. We investigate how the sensor network performs in the case when the sensor nodes move. We compare the simulation results for two cases: the sensor network with stationary sensor nodes and multi mobile sensor nodes. The simulation results have shown that for the multi mobile sensors, the good put is unstable. Also, the good put of stationary sensors is better than multi mobile sensors. In case of consumed energy, the consumed energy of multi mobile sensors is better than stationary sensors. Also, the RE of multi mobile sensors is better than stationary sensors.","PeriodicalId":203206,"journal":{"name":"2011 International Conference on Complex, Intelligent, and Software Intensive Systems","volume":"302 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127370496","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Object-oriented model developed previously, was now translated to the language of agents along with the use of an agent-oriented parallel frontal equation solver (based on the Schur complement concept). In our paper we present the architecture and algorithms that stay behind great elasticity, wide applicability and fair responsiveness to a changing environment. We discuss interesting problems that arose, like methods to facilitate load balancing to the platform. Finally, in reference to our previous multi-scale works, the way of incorporating molecular nano-scale methods into the agent-oriented hp-FEM is discussed. To illustrate the above considerations, we use an exemplary linear elasticity problem of a non-uniform material.","PeriodicalId":203206,"journal":{"name":"2011 International Conference on Complex, Intelligent, and Software Intensive Systems","volume":"221 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115990630","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

As an expressive knowledge representation language for the Semantic Web, Web Ontology Language (OWL) plays an important role in modeling information in a semantic way. However, due to the nature of knowledge bases, ontologies tend to be very large, distributed, and interconnected. Thus, maintaining constraints and enforcing data consistency for a group of ontologies become very challenging. In addition, frequent updates on ontologies necessitate an automatic approach to checking for potential constraint violations before any change takes place. In this study, we conducted a pioneer study and presented a framework for checking global constraints and ensuring integrity on data that span multiple ontologies. As an update is issued to a single site, global constraints that can be potentially violated are broken down into sub constraints that only involve a very small subset of ontologies. The checking of sub-constraints runs effectively in parallel and returns results about each subset. The collection of these results determines the violation of global constraints.","PeriodicalId":203206,"journal":{"name":"2011 International Conference on Complex, Intelligent, and Software Intensive Systems","volume":"47 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132595699","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The loose coupling of SOA brings challenges to assure availability. A widely adopted redundancy-based availability solution to dependable SOA is to pool multiple services. Existing research achievements mostly focus on service pool model and service selected algorithms, the calculate model of service pool size waste the redundancy cost. Aimed at this problem, this paper proposed availability mutant stage partition model, then multistage dynamic adjustment the size of service pool be used to optimization costs and satisfy availability requirement.
