This infection is an acute febrile illness but it can also cause many systematic clinical problems [1-2]. In clinical neurology, the Zika virus infection can induce brain defect in congenital infected cases. In addition, the peripheral neuropathy due to Zika virus infection is also observable. Of several possible problems, Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS) is an important condition [3-5].","PeriodicalId":201976,"journal":{"name":"NEURO RESEARCH","volume":"50 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-09-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134422977","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

They are uncommon in children and adolescents and a lot of paediatric tests do not address them; also in literature only few cases are reported. A practitioner’s appropriate knowledge is very important in order to avoid misdiagnosis. Also there are symptomatic forms that are secondary to other causes like tumors or vascular malformation.","PeriodicalId":201976,"journal":{"name":"NEURO RESEARCH","volume":"54 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134025446","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The Mattis Dementia Rating ScaleInitiation Perseveration subscale (MDRS-IP) may be useful for the assessment of frontal dysfunction, which is significantly affected in most patients with VCD. The aim of the present study was to explore the diagnostic value of MDRS-IP in patients with VCD of various severity. In a total of 140 patients fulfilling most recent criteria for VCDD and VCDM or having cerebrovascular disease with no clinically obvious cognitive decline (vascular controls, VC) and 15 healthy controls (Ctrl) we administered the Mini Mental State Examination (MMSE) and the MDRS-IP. Both MMSE and MDRS-IP perform better at the dementia level of VCD (VCDD), being effective in the discrimination of vascular dementia from the Ctrl or VC groups. However, in patients with VCDM, MMSE and MDRS-IP have statistically significant, but clinically moderate ability to differentiate from Ctrl or VC, i.e., to identify cognitive dysfunction in early, pre-dementia stages. Finally, both tests failed in the discrimination between VC and Ctrl, indicating that they are not sensitive enough to identify patients with cerebrovascular disease and subclinical cognitive dysfunction.","PeriodicalId":201976,"journal":{"name":"NEURO RESEARCH","volume":"26 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123157142","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The proposed concept, Proximal Development Zone (ZPD) [2], is the organizing principle of this type of evaluation. In a Vygotsian ideology, the focus of analysis is on the measurement or assessment of learning and development dynamics, which include either establishing the current level of performance or achievement of the subject, or their potential to reach higher levels of development.","PeriodicalId":201976,"journal":{"name":"NEURO RESEARCH","volume":"27 4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126047923","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
