ALS teachers graduated from different programs of teacher education for formal education. In response, an extension project was conceptualized and implemented to enhance the teaching capacity and effectiveness of ALS teachers. Case study was conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of the project. It explored the transfer of life skills among ALS teachers. Data were collected from multiple sources. Interview and written responses, and feedbacks were analyzed using thematic narrative analysis. Other data were analyzed using document and descriptive analyses. The project had achieved its objectives and rated best by participants. These indicate that the project was implemented effectively and successfully. ALS teachers have acquired life skills and transferred them to others. Work discipline is an attitude that is indispensable for everyone to improve performance in order to achieve organizational goals. Motivation leads to disciplinary attitudes, high motivation for work discipline can affect employee performance. This study uses simple regression analysis and interaction test or Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA) The population in this study includes employees at the Inspectorate Office of Musi Rawas Regency. The sample of this study amounted to 68 employees, selected using a saturated sampling method. The data collection technique used a questionnaire. The results of this study indicate that work discipline has a significant effect on employee performance (Y), as evidenced by the value t_count for the Work Discipline variable (X_1) is greater than the t-table value. This indicates a significant influence between Work Discipline (X_1) on Employee Performance (Y) at the Inspectorate Office of Musi Rawas Regency. So it can be said that the hypothesis is accepted. The next result is that the motivation variable is a moderating moderating variable in the relationship between work discipline and employee performance. Motivation as a moderation variable affects the relationship between Work Discipline (X_1) and Employee Performance (Y). So, Motivation (X_2) as a Moderation variable has an effect on the relationship of Work Discipline (X_1) and Employee Performance (Y) at the Inspectorate Office of Musi Rawas Regency. Thus it can be concluded that the hypothesis is accepted. So it can be said that the Motivation variable (X_2) as a Moderation variable affects the relationship between the Work Discipline variable (X_1) on Employee Performance (Y). Motivation as a moderation variable has an influence on the relationship between work discipline and employee performance. It adopted the theory of Gerard Genette,  the analysis of the famous novel  Great Expectations  by Charles Dickens, the main discussion concerns order and duration whereas frequency is ruled out. Consequently, order can be presented by two different narrative techniques; through the profound analysis of analepsis and prolepsis to show the chronological and anachronological order of the novel. A further analysis of the novel also includes the alternation of the four narrative movements of duration which are divided into techniques of deceleration; descriptive pause and scene whereas techniques of accelerations; ellipsis and summary. {"title":"Selected NGOs and Poverty Reduction in Makurdi Local Government Area of Benue State, Nigeria","authors":"Vincent Iorja Gisaor","doi":"10.47747/ijcse.v2i3.344","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.47747/ijcse.v2i3.344","url":null,"abstract":"The research was undertaken to access the impact of Non-Government organizations (NGOs) on poverty reduction in Makurdi local government area of Benue State. Using descriptive approach to analyze the primary data obtained from the respondents through a structured questionnaires and semi-structured interview administered to the staff and officials of selected NGOs in the study area. Result shows that the respondents confirm benefits in terms of increased income, use of good transportation means, good accommodation, feeding and sleeping materials. Despite these benefits, there were challenges confronting the NGOs in the study area. One of the biggest challenges was finance to execute all their programmes as well as disburse to beneficiaries as loans and grants. The activities of NGOs were found only limited to Makurdi while the majority of the people were residing outside the state capital.
