Cotton has been found during archaeological research at sites in both the old and new world, independently, indicating that the crop had been grown and domesticated with the fibres converted into fabric, using the earliest forms of combs, spindles and primitive looms. Information on the history of cotton cultivation and manufacture of cotton textiles in various Asian and European countries are also presented.","PeriodicalId":197741,"journal":{"name":"Pest management in cotton: a global perspective","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124339158","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
