The one of main process modules for solid analysis, named ADVENTURE Solid, is based on the hierarchical domain decomposition parallel algorithm and employs the balancing domain decomposition as a solution technique for linearized equations. The ADVENTURE Solid has been successfully implemented on a single PC, PC clusters and MPPs with high parallel performances. Since the software has become a quite large system, it is not easy to install or operate the system on parallel machines by users. To solve this issue, in this paper, the main system including solver part is operated on the remote server like a cloud computing and to operate such a system from a client PC through the network, the Web-based CAE system is presented. As a large scale analysis, one model of 10 Million DOF is performed.","PeriodicalId":196401,"journal":{"name":"2010 International Conference on Broadband, Wireless Computing, Communication and Applications","volume":"116 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-11-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126707522","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

If human activity can be objectively measured, we can expect various applications, such as health care and agriculture. We developed an activity information gathering system using mobile sensor devices with three axis accelerometers, and gathered about 10,000 activity data of 170 people during 5 months so far. As a result, we found specific activities which are easily gathered and ones which are not. Moreover, we found some problems of motivation measures.","PeriodicalId":196401,"journal":{"name":"2010 International Conference on Broadband, Wireless Computing, Communication and Applications","volume":"14 7 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-11-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116777188","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The antennae presented have the following attractive features : They are (a) single layered perfectly planar antennae, (b) antennae that radiate circularly polarized waves by balanced feeding to one port without any phase shifters, (c) antennae whose half-power beam width is very wide, and (d) useful when in use at the UHF band. The antennae have been named “Cross Spiral Antennae,” abbreviated hereafter as CSAs, for they are spiral antennae wound in the form of a cross. CSAs are expected to be used as UHF band RFID antennas due to their single layered structure which can be made easily by means of printing techniques, etc. and to their ability to radiate circularly polarized waves by mounting on each of them an IC chip that has been used conventionally with linearly polarized antennae for RFID tags.","PeriodicalId":196401,"journal":{"name":"2010 International Conference on Broadband, Wireless Computing, Communication and Applications","volume":"32 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-11-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116828854","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Some of the applications of the Wireless Sensor Multimedia Networks include habitat monitoring, target tracking, environmental monitoring, and traffic management systems, these applications require effective communication of event features in the form of multimedia such as audio, image, and video. Routing in Wireless Multimedia Sensor Network is an important issue since the WMSN nodes that sense the data need to be communicated to the base station, to take necessary decision. The key issues in the design of routing protocol in the WMSN are energy consideration, multimedia consistency, tight QoS expectations, and high bandwidth demands. Although many routing protocols have been proposed for the WMSNs, the design of a more efficient protocol in terms energy awareness and QoS still remain a challenge. This work involves the design of the routing protocol in wireless multimedia sensor networks which is power aware, reliable and has low latency in delivering the data from source node that is sensing the data to the destination node/sink node. The proposed new algorithm called MPDT: Multipath Data Transfer protocol provides simultaneous multiple paths for communication between any two nodes. This feature prolongs the lifetime of the network. Also from the data security point of view, MPDT is immune to some specific attacks. Simulation results show that the proposed protocol surpasses the conventional protocol in terms of energy consumption and network lifetime.","PeriodicalId":196401,"journal":{"name":"2010 International Conference on Broadband, Wireless Computing, Communication and Applications","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-11-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115517884","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Recently, photonic crystal (PC) or electromagnetic band gap (EBG) structure, which are composed of periodic profile of medium with high contrast for background, is intensively studied because of high selectivity for wavelength, easy design to confine electromagnetic wave effectively within a defect of the structure, and so on. In this paper, numerical analysis of scattered electromagnetic wave in free space by a dielectric cylinder with high dielectric constant is demonstrated by constrained interpolation profile (CIP) method. Comparing with conventional Finite Difference Time Domain (FDTD) method under the same discretization of space and time, the CIP method showed better agreement with results of approximated analytical approach by Hertz potentials in wide variety of relative dielectric constant from 4 to 36.","PeriodicalId":196401,"journal":{"name":"2010 International Conference on Broadband, Wireless Computing, Communication and Applications","volume":"28 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-11-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114341557","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To improve the convergence of the interface problem of the HDDM and to reduce the computation time, the solution strategy of Finite Element Analysis (FEA) in sub domains is reexamined. Because our employed equation is singular, it has been solved by the iterative method such as the ICCG method. However, by applying the direct method for solving FEA in sub domains, it is expected that the convergence of the interface problem is improved by improvement of precision in sub domains and the computation time is reduced by storing matrices that are results of the LU decomposition on the main memory. Then, to solve FEA in sub domains by the direct method, the A method with the Lagrange multiplier p is considered. As a result, the convergence of the interface problem is much improved by improvement of precision in sub domain-wise analysis. Then, the computation time is reduced by 10 - 20 %. Moreover, a nonlinear magneto static problem with 1.2 billion degrees of freedom is solved in about 4.8 hours on the T2K Open Supercomputer (64 nodes, 1,024 cores).","PeriodicalId":196401,"journal":{"name":"2010 International Conference on Broadband, Wireless Computing, Communication and Applications","volume":"81 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-11-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132004502","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
