Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) standards has been used to implement virtual organizations. Transformation in computing paradigms and software tools with the passage of time has introduced modern ways to achieve the said targets. Reference Architecture for Virtual Organization (RAVO) was proposed as a standard for VOs [1]. RAVO is based on XaaS (Every-thing-as-a-Service) approach and is presented as a layered model. From software engineering perspective, different patterns can be adopted for implementation. Onion architecture is one of the emerging architectures based on the dependency inversion principle. The paper presents the RAVO as an Onion architecture and a prototype for formal organization by decoupling all of its components. The components are encapsulated inside one another. This approach extends and makes it easy for Software Engineers to implement a standard VO system. Presented work offers a character recognition system for cursive script (e.g., Arabic, Urdu, etc.) segmented characters from their images. Presented methodology consists of phases namely (1) Image Acquisition, (2) Preprocessing, (3) Chain Code Formation, (4) Signal Generation, and (5) Pattern Extraction. Image Acquisition takes an image of segmented character and converts it into binary image. Preprocessing finds out unconnected regions from the binary image and separates into one main region and one or more secondary regions. The secondary regions make vector of features whereas main region is further converted to one pixel wide thinned image. Chain Code Formation finds out chain code vector using 8-directions. Finally Pattern Extraction uses a defined algorithm to form qualitative signal pattern describing increase (+1), decrease (-1), and constant (0) pattern of writing layout. Additionally recognition of the character is carried out through Feed-Forward Neural Network (FFNN). The methodology and presented algorithm are evaluated using 1292 images of segmented characters of 271 different ligature classes of printed script. The ultimate goal of the project is to create engaging math learning models that will make the learning environment fun and attractive. The main goal of the project is to develop effective math learning models and use them to enhance students' performance. By applying Maple, a cutting-edge Computer Algebra Systems (CAS), and other digital tools (Tablet PC's) for teaching and learning of mathematics, these models can: (1) make mathematics learning interesting and meaningful while still covering the original contents; (2) simplify abstract mathematics concepts and make them easy to understand; and (3) bridge mathematics and science and motivate students to seek science careers. In class room we use Microsoft OneNote on the Tablet PC and combine it with a Digital Projector. Maple 3D graphs are easily imported to class notes and we can archive and share our lecture notes. The models are carefully designed to provide students with the chance to explore mathematical issues that are infeasible to address in the classroom and improve their performance in mathematics and prepare them to for advanced science and engineering courses. The model also balances this capability by allowing students to modify selected parts of the MPLE worksheet for a given problem and guide them to design new procedure, and are thus get them to use Maple features to perform application tasks. From 3D simulation that makes it easier for new employees to understand complex concepts to allow new employees to experience nonsafety situations first-hand without threat to personal safety, and helping to make the training more efficient and productive. Proven to be a valuable training tool when trying to engage and enthuse new employee to new or complex topics. In 3D virtual manufacturing, a student can slow down the simulation of an industrial process, pause, and zoom on a point of interest, and do 360-degree view on a machine, things that are not possible in real world. This paper presents a method using existing virtual manufacturing technology in order to improve the quality of a new employee training, reduce the cost and the time consumed in the training. Regardless of the rise of the use of computing in architecture profession, the main focus -at least in developing countries- is on presentations as compared to other realms of the practice. The current research presents an experimental model to use one of the computer applications as a designing tool in different architectural design stages, starting with creating and developing a concept to final stages of project design, including project environmental studies. Eye tracking plays an important role in gathering data about how students interact with the learning material. This paper proposes a new approach of using high speed eye tracking equipment and fast computer monitors to collect the necessary gaze contingent eye fixation data of the Japanese English language learners. Heat maps and eye-gaze patterns generated during the preliminary experiments help inform the methods used to teach English reading. Several studies [2, 3, 4] indicated deficiencies in learning introductory OOP courses. In King Abdulaziz University - Saudi Arabia, based on a survey that had been designed and distributed to female students of introductory OOP course, results showed that students faced difficulties in understanding OOP, specifically 47% of students faced difficulties in Polymorphism. Visualization tools visualize the execution of programs, using visual hints, and interactivity to improve the students' understanding in programming concepts. The proposed technique combines the stochastic local search meta-heuristic (SLS) with the least significant bits method (LSB). First, we developed the basic technique of LSB to hide information in JPEG images. We found that LSB steganography method is not effective because the size of the image increases greatly after inserting information which facilitates the discovery of hidden information. In order to improve the performance, we added a meta-heuristic approach to LSB technique. We hybridized local search (LS) with LSB. Then we improved LSB by combining it with a stochastic local search (SLS). The three methods LSB, LSB + LS and LSB+ SLS are implemented and evaluated on some series of JPEG images. We decomposed the image and the secret message in 4-bits blocks. Then by applying the principle of each method, we are able to insert the secret message in the images. A key is generated and encrypted with the AES algorithm. An application namely Aurasma was used in the development process. This study was conducted with 20 elementary-level students in USIM by observing their response and their understanding in using the AR enhanced flashcards for Arabic vocabulary acquisition. Findings indicated that AR enhanced flashcards help in scaffolding the knowledge of students regarding the Arabic vocabulary acquisition. Furthermore, from the data collected through the questionnaires, the researchers found that the process of learning is being much easier with the help of the AR enhanced flashcards. The augmented reality considered as one of the platform that can be used to help the students in memorizing certain information and maintained their knowledge of Arabic vocabulary.
