Nevertheless, the heterogeneous EPCs are highly complex, which, causes the severe semantic inconsistency that prevents from semantic interoperation between them. To reduce complexity and to provide a solution to semantic consistency maintenance, this paper has developed a theory of deconstruction and reconstruction. The theory deconstructs heterogeneous EPCs into ordered concepts, structures and semantic relations by a proposed articulation approach. It reconstructs the deconstructed units into a novel CONEX framework for component EPC integration. The CONEX maintains semantic consistency amongst heterogeneous component EPCs in structure, concept and context.","PeriodicalId":194289,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings. The paper proposes a business model with multiple interfaced abstraction levels as a framework to generate data-centric Web services. A time/space constraint called factual dependency is used to aggregate attributes describing the business objects and coordination artifacts as described in the highest abstraction level of a business model, i.e. the universe of discourse. Each aggregation leads to a well-specified granular Web service. The resulting set of consistent Web services are then registered in a public or a private UDDI to be discovered and invoked by any business process. The proposed generation process differs from the current IT-perspective approaches that generate Web services directly from the redundant and duplicated elements in the information system.","PeriodicalId":194289,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings. A business model is then proposed to predict the probability of potential bidders' risk preference, which sellers can consider to set pricing strategy to maximize their profits. A tailored intelligent auction registry engine is constructed based upon an initial version of our business model. Because the extensible markup language (XML)-based simple object access protocol (SOAP) is utilized to support interactions with other resources, our engine is decoupled from the underlying technology choices; therefore, it can be deployed to different platforms.","PeriodicalId":194289,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings. The custom store needs to empower business buyers to shop in the following fashions: 1) buyers visit the custom store, make direct decisions on product selection, based on entitled pricing, and check out orders; 2) buyers use their own company's procurement software, perform catalog shopping on one or more remote custom stores, return an order quote locally for approval, and subsequently send approved orders to supplier for fulfillment; 3) buyers shop with own company's procurement software, using catalog pre-loaded with product and pricing information extracted from supplier's custom stores, and then place purchase orders. This paper describes a practical implementation experience, on how these shopping paradigms can be accommodated effectively and efficiently using a unified commerce server architecture. It is explained, how one master catalog subsystem can be personalized to accommodate B2B direct catalog shopping, B2B procurement with remote catalog punchout, B2B procurement with local catalog, and entitled catalog extraction. A detailed discussion on how to build the commerce server in a 2-tier architecture is illustrated by the handling of various different punchout protocols in one common implementation. The study also reports on the issues and efficiency considerations by different approaches for real-time entitled pricing lookup vs. batch pricing extraction operation.","PeriodicalId":194289,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings. Therefore, it is inappropriate for settings where an organization employs some servers for a threshold protection of its private signing function. That is, if anyone has the power to activate the signing function of servers, they can easily compute valid signatures for a specific organization without knowing the secret private key. In this paper, we present a model of the threshold signature scheme in which the user possesses the controllability to activate his private signing functions and the secret private key is shared among several servers. Moreover, our scheme is applicable to both discrete-log based threshold signatures and RSA based threshold signatures.","PeriodicalId":194289,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings. We study decision support systems for buyers in group buying. In group buying, when buyers cooperate with each other, a seller can discount the price of a good. In many existing group buying sites, some sellers deal in the same sort goods or their imitations. Buyers form coalitions for each item on sale. Buyers cannot always purchase goods at a lower price, because buyers' sub-groups are distributed. Buyers need to search hard to find the goods they can purchase. In this paper, we propose a group buying marketplace on the Internet. In our marketplace, buyers can purchase goods at a lower price by forming coalitions. Our system can provide a service that buyers are integrated based on buyers' multi-attribute preferences (utilities). Our system supports buyers' decision making by using the analytic hierarchy process. We propose three methods for group integration. First, buyers trades on simple group buying. Second, all buyers are integrated. Third, some buyers are integrated. Advantages of our market can be described that buyers' multi-attribute utilities are reflected effectively in group integration and buyers can purchase goods at a lower price. Buyers' payments are decided based on their degree of compromise. A successful seller can sell goods in their stock.","PeriodicalId":194289,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings. When a company joins a supply chain partnership to increase competitiveness, its data warehouse has to be re-designed. The design of data warehouses for supply chain partners has to take into account issues such as data schemas, duplication of data, data security, and homogeneity of data warehouses. This study proposes five approaches to designing data warehouses for supply chain partners: (I) a centralized data warehouse, (2) a coordinated data warehouse, (3) a distributed data warehouse, (4) a federated data warehouse, and (5) a heterogeneous data warehouse. Each approach has different features and provides a high level of data security.","PeriodicalId":194289,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings. IEEE International Conference on e-Commerce Technology, 2004. Catalog management is complicated by a number of factors and product classification is at the core of these issues. Classification hierarchy is used for spend analysis, customs regulation, and product identification. Classification is the foundation on which product databases are designed, and plays a central role in almost all aspects of management and use of product information. However, product classification has received little formal treatment in terms of underlying model, operations, and semantics. We believe that the lack of a logical model for classification introduces a number of problems not only for the classification itself but also for the product database in general. In this paper, we try to understand what it means to classify products and present how best to represent classification schemes so as to capture the semantics behind the classifications and facilitate mappings between them. We believe the model proposed in this paper satisfies the requirements and challenges that have been raised by previous works.","PeriodicalId":194289,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings. If a business practices multiple types of Web marketing campaigns, sells multiple brands, and manages multiple online stores, it has to use market tracking solutions to monitor sales and leads from different marketing programs, and track and evaluate the performance of each program. A solution for tracking Web sales for multi-channel marketing programs is described. It consists of two technological components. A transient landing page provides a unique way to centralize, control and distribute Web traffic from different programs, and in doing so saves a Web merchant time, cost and effort in administrating its online stores. A multi-channel identifier allows the merchant to track sales and leads, and to evaluate the results and effectiveness of each program.","PeriodicalId":194289,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings.
