Education is no exception and neither is education related to specialization in Medicine. Pathology requires a great commitment to the image, digital or analogic, and an immense immersion in the study of a doctrine that has become incomprehensible. Specialization, on many occasions, prevents us from contemplating with perspective the basic pillars that support a discipline, medical in this case. And the book on paper, the classic volume filled with histological and cytological photographs or increasingly complex diagrams, are subjected to the scrutiny of the client, a doctor in training who begins a long journey that will surely end the same day he their days end. Nonetheless, IUCDs are not risk free and several complications have been reported, including unintended expulsion, misplacement and uterine perforation. Uterine perforation with an IUCD is uncommon, but it may have serious consequences including intra-abdominal bleeding, bowel or bladder perforation, fistula formation, especially when IUCD migrates to pelvic peritoneal spaces invading the adjacent organs. It is rare for IUCD to break during removal and fragments lodged in uterine cavity. We present a case of retained fragment of IUCD which was diagnosed after 3 years of its so called ‘removal’. The case report emphasizes the need to train doctors not only to insert IUCD but also to educate the women about potential risks and benefits and self-examination of IUCD thread for its correct placement.","PeriodicalId":19413,"journal":{"name":"Obstetrics Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences","volume":"58 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139362918","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Hereditary breast and ovarian cancers (HBOC) are the most frequent among these conditions, caused by mutations in BRCA1/2 genes. While available management strategies may not prevent HBOC in carriers of these genes, avoidance of inheritance of the predisposing genes to their offspring appeared an attractive approach, as PGT for BRCA1/2 genes allows selecting and transferring of embryos free of genetic predisposition to HBOC. The present paper describes the progress in application of PGT for HBOC, with its extended application also to carriers detected through expanded carrier screening (ECS). Presented data are based on our experience of 562 PGT-M cycles for HBOC, resulting in birth of 278 disease predisposition free children, representing one of the world’s largest series of PGT for HBOC, demonstrating an increasing importance of clinical implications of PGT-M as practical option for couples carrying BRCA1/2 predisposing genes.","PeriodicalId":19413,"journal":{"name":"Obstetrics Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences","volume":"125 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139362970","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Given the importance of this structure in marital relations, the purpose of this study was to investigate the role of self-differentiation, attachment symbols and attachment styles in the prediction of marital intimacy of marital couples in Zanjan city. The research method was correlation. All married couples living in Zanjan city in 2018 formed the statistical population of this study. The final sample consisted of 278 people selected by stepwise cluster sampling. The instruments of the Bagarozzi intimacy scale (2001), self-differentiated R-DSI revised questionnaire, Hazan and Shaver (1995), attachment style questionnaire and Hazen Attachment Symptom Questionnaire (1987). Non-parametric correlation test showed that there is a positive and significant relationship between emotional intimacy with security and support. There is a positive and significant relationship between rational intimacy with support. There is a positive and significant relationship between sexual intimacy with adjacency and support. There is a positive and significant relationship between spiritual intimacy with security. There is a positive and significant relationship between the aesthetic intimacy with security. There is a positive and significant relationship between social-entertainment intimacy and proximity. There is a positive and significant relationship between the overall score of intimacy with proximity, security, and support. Pearson correlation showed that Pearson correlation indicated that there is a negative and significant relationship between the avoidant attachment style and the total score of intimacy and the components of social recreational intimacy and emotional intimacy. There is a negative and meaningful relationship between the attachment style of social-communicative intimacy. There is a negative and significant relationship between the ambivalent attachment style and the general score of intimacy and the components of social intimacy-emotional and emotional intimacy. The results of regression analysis indicated that only anxiety attachment style could predict marital intimacy among attachment styles and self-differentiation dimensions (R2 = 0.02). The findings of this study can be used to develop and implement educational and therapeutic programs in order to increase marital intimacy of couples. As a result, the purpose of this study to assess the prevalence of perceived stress and associated factors among pregnant women in the western Ethiopia. Methods: A community-based cross-sectional study was conducted among 451 pregnant women in West Shewa Zone, Oromia Region, Ethiopia. From September 20, 2021, to October 19, 2021, Pregnant women were recruited using cluster sampling techniques. Data was collected by using a standardized questionnaire that had been pre-tested. The data were entered into Epi data version 4.6 and then exported to SPSS version 26. Bivariate and multivariate logistic regression analyses were used to identify significantly associated factors. Result: The prevalence of perceived stress during pregnancy was 21.2% at 95% CI (20.1,23). Unplanned pregnancies (AOR: 5.43; CI 2.61-10.77), early ANC booking (AOR: 3.02 CI; 1.66-5.48) and obstetric complications during the current and previous pregnancies (AOR: 3.53CI; 1.9- 6.56) were significantly associated with perceived stress. Conclusion: The prevalence of perceived stress during pregnancy was higher, indicating a need to screen perceived stress and its predictors in routine antenatal care. Strengthening the counseling service and increasing access and availability of modern contraceptive methods may reduce the rates of unplanned pregnancies. This, in turn, plays a significant role in alleviating perceived stress in Ethiopia.","PeriodicalId":19413,"journal":{"name":"Obstetrics Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences","volume":"122 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139370807","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
