This paper presents a proposal of system for ultra-wideband (UWB) radio system allowing Real Time Localization (RLTS) in indoor environment. Accurately tracking people in indoor locations is a very difficult technical problem that has not yet been completely solved. UWB transmission technology is primary attractive in GPS denied environments such as buildings. In this paper will be described important parameters of ultra-wideband radio system that depends on complicated conditions especially in buildings. Another goal of this paper is to examine the basic positioning principle and various approach of realizations of UWB systems which would be used for tracking people in complex indoor environments. This application has been recently researched in many scientific papers and experimentally studied. The UWB localization system is especially suitable in this context because it allows centimeters accuracy in ranging, as well as low-power and low-cost implementation.","PeriodicalId":193275,"journal":{"name":"2015 25th International Conference Radioelektronika (RADIOELEKTRONIKA)","volume":"269 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-04-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122932049","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Nevertheless it is expected that “the golden age” of GNSS in land transport will come as lately as high-safety integrity and dependability of integrated solutions will be demonstrated and the use of GNSS in land safety-related systems will be standardized. In Europe a great effort in this area is currently focused on use of EGNSS, which includes two main systems - EGNOS, which belongs to the SBAS family, and Galileo. This paper deals with a new safety concept of the multi-constellation EGNOS-R interface which was originally proposed to meet the highest Safety Integrity Level (SIL 4) for the EGNOS Signal-In-Space, as it is required by the European Train Control System (ETCS). Fundamental benefits of EGNOS-R are summarised. A great potential of the EGNOS-R concept is further demonstrated using a new innovative method for excessive multipath error detection and identification, and also via protection of user against correlated excessive pseudorange errors. Since the EGNOS-R concept can be easily transferable to other non-European regions where similar regional multi-constellation augmentations from the SBAS family are or will be available, the international standardization of the EGNOS-R concept via a more general SBAS-R standard for SBAS exploitation in land safety-related systems is proposed. This new international SBAS standard can significantly support export of advanced EU technologies (e.g. ETCS) and thus justify the use of EGNSS on markets out of Europe.","PeriodicalId":193275,"journal":{"name":"2015 25th International Conference Radioelektronika (RADIOELEKTRONIKA)","volume":"31 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-04-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115965092","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The parameters of 2DLDA are usually computed on labelled training data partitioned into phonetic classes. It is generally known that one phonetic class contains speech data collected from different speakers with different speech variability and context for the same phonetic unit. Therefore, many clusters exist in each phonetic class. The mentioned effects are not taken into account in the conventional 2DLDA. In this paper, we present an efficient improvement of 2DLDA, which involves the well-known K-means clustering technique to modify the standard class definition. The clustering algorithm is used to identify the existing clusters in the basic classes, which are treated as the new classes for the subsequent 2DLDA estimation. The proposed method is thoroughly evaluated in Slovak triphone-based large vocabulary continuous speech recognition (LVCSR) task. The modified 2DLDA is compared to the state-of-the-art Mel-frequency cepstral coefficients (MFCCs) and to conventional LDA. The results show that the modified 2DLDA features outperform the MFCCs, LDA and also lead to improvement over the conventional 2DLDA.","PeriodicalId":193275,"journal":{"name":"2015 25th International Conference Radioelektronika (RADIOELEKTRONIKA)","volume":"38 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-04-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123251458","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

RFID network planning is a hard optimization problem that attracts research attention since the usage of the RFID technology expanded in many industries. Recent fireworks algorithm was successfully applied to other hard optimization problems. In our implementation of the fireworks algorithm for multi-objective RFID network planning problem we used hierarchical approach to objectives. For experimental purposes we used standard benchmark sets. A comparative analysis with other state-of-the-art metaheuristics proved that our proposed approach outperformed other algorithms. The concept of Principal Component Analysis is centered on feature extraction and dimensionality reduction. Through the exploitation of spatial differences and variances between data points of a specific data domain, application of PCA techniques allows the reduction of datasets to representations consisting of principal components only. The effect hence forth being the reduction of dataset sizes, which translates to a reduction in processing time on these datasets, for almost any application the mathematical technique is applied to. Open literature provides examples of software computation domains to which PCA has been applied, examples being face recognition and geo-environmental forecasting applications. Both linear and nonlinear PCA forms are covered in this paper. Application of linear PCA to SAR based automatic target recognition has been covered extensively in open literature. This investigation therefore aims to improve on the performance achieved by linear PCA application, using non linear PCA. Three systems were developed for the purpose of the investigation, which were a linear PCA system, a nonlinear PCA system using a polynomial kernel, and a nonlinear PCA system using a Gaussian kernel. The systems were tested for how well they responded to a reduction in training dataset, as this is a real-world problem experienced in ATR systems. The performance of the systems in terms of their running times were also evaluated. As anticipated, the nonlinear PCA approach outperformed the linear PCA approach, and the performance of the polynomial kernel PCA system was observed to be the best of all the three systems.","PeriodicalId":193275,"journal":{"name":"2015 25th International Conference Radioelektronika (RADIOELEKTRONIKA)","volume":"66 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-04-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131141776","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The system shall use freely available ultra high frequency (UHF) tags, and shall require no modifications of the tags or the communication protocol. A test setup based on a software defined radio (SDR) system is implemented. However, first measurements with this simple setup show, that a reliable distance estimation is not possible. Due to interference effects, such as multi-path propagation, the signal strength is not mainly dominated by its distance dependency. Therefore, the test system is modified and a number of optimization approaches is proposed. The goal hereby is to reduce the impact of interference on the signal strength, so that the measured value exhibits a mainly distance dependent behavior. Besides frequency hopping, various forms of antenna diversity are discussed. Using these optimization techniques it's possible to implement a test system that allows a fairly reliable distance estimation under controlled laboratory conditions.","PeriodicalId":193275,"journal":{"name":"2015 25th International Conference Radioelektronika (RADIOELEKTRONIKA)","volume":"76 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-04-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133724836","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
