First, we attack a straightforward C implementation of the Goppa codes based McEliece decryption running on an ARM Cortex-M3 microprocessor. Next, we demonstrate on a realistic example that using a “chosen ciphertext attack” method, it is possible to recover the complete secret permutation matrix. We show that this matrix can be completely recovered by an analysis of a dynamic power consumption of the microprocessor. Then, we estimate the brute-force attack complexity reduction depending on the knowledge of the permutation matrix. Finally, we propose an efficient software countermeasure having low computational complexity. Of course, we provide all the necessary details regarding the attack implementation and all the consequences of the proposed countermeasure especially in terms of power consumption.","PeriodicalId":193275,"journal":{"name":"2015 25th International Conference Radioelektronika (RADIOELEKTRONIKA)","volume":"19 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-04-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126570550","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Analog FM radio broadcasting occupies VHF Band II. Digital Radio Mondiale (DRM) system offers one mode suitable for VHF Band II, referred to as DRMplus. We observe DRMplus system interfered with by FM radio broadcasting signal as well as FM radio broadcasting system interfered with by DRMplus signal. Minimal useful signal to interference power ratios are measured under the given criteria. Various combinations of protection levels and data carriers modulations are chosen for DRMplus reception. Different signal to noise ratios of demodulated signal are considered in the case of FM radio broadcasting reception for the both mono and stereo modes. Presented results are useful for broadcasting networks planning.","PeriodicalId":193275,"journal":{"name":"2015 25th International Conference Radioelektronika (RADIOELEKTRONIKA)","volume":"61 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-04-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115317151","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The modulating process strictly uses digital signal processing and only a switched MOSFET power stage followed by a low-pass LC filter, which compose a source of an “envelope” supply voltage for a switching power stage of radio transmitter. The advantages of fully digital signal processing bring the possibility to simply implement the dynamic configuration and signal correction. However, the digital naturally sampled PWM implementation puts not only high demands on the discrete time resolution, but, consequently, it requires exceptional accuracy of interpolating algorithm not to cause unacceptable signal distortion within the modulator. Effect of the both phenomena, the time resolution and the interpolation accuracy, has been studied. The results are compared with the measurements of the PWM modulator experimental implementation, which demonstrates the system is applicable in AM or DRM radio transmitter.","PeriodicalId":193275,"journal":{"name":"2015 25th International Conference Radioelektronika (RADIOELEKTRONIKA)","volume":"301 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-04-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132690087","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A complex performance comparison of face recognition algorithms has not been established for specific test databases. A basic fact discussed in the paper is limited statistical accuracy of the results. Face recognition results and reported performance increments need not be convincing due to test database properties. The confidence of results should be taken into account in order to reach convincing and reliable test conclusions. In order to express the confidence of the reached results, ROC curves enhanced by confidence intervals are proposed. Enhanced ROC curves are generally applicable without methodological requirements on a test databases.","PeriodicalId":193275,"journal":{"name":"2015 25th International Conference Radioelektronika (RADIOELEKTRONIKA)","volume":"163 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-04-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133417836","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
