Dhading district was purposely selected as it is one of the pocket area for cauliflower production. The study collected primary information from 60 farmers and 15 traders by using a semi-structured pre-tested questionnaire. The simple descriptive and statistical tools such as Cobb-Douglas production function and benefit-cost ratio were used to analyze the result. The total cost of production of early-season cauliflower was NRs 13588.81 per ropani while the average yield was 727.94 kg per ropani. Further, the gross margin, and net profit per ropani were calculated NRs 25194.54, and NRs 22855.51 respectively. Likewise, the benefit-cost ratio was estimated to be 2.60 that revealed the early season cauliflower production is highly attractive and profitable. The Cobb-Douglas production function showed that cost on manure had a significant contribution in total gross return. The return to scale value was computed to be 0.59 indicating decreasing return to scale in early-season cauliflower. The major marketing channel was found to be Producer-Collector-Wholesaler-Retailer-Consumer with highest price spread of NRs 35/kg. Major problem in the production and marketing of cauliflower was diseases and pests and inappropriate marketing channels. Therefore the finding suggests, productivity and profitability can be maximized if the existing problems of diseases and pests, and quality of seeds are solved and appropriate marketing prices and channel are ensured.","PeriodicalId":192859,"journal":{"name":"SOCIO ECONOMY AND POLICY STUDIES","volume":"33 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-04-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129031547","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, to further promote high-quality development impact requires an accurate grasp of its rich connotation characteristics and development mechanism, and the existing studies are relatively lacking in systematization and do not comprehensively elaborate the development concept of high-quality development impact, nor do they regulate its connotation and extension. This paper argues that the meaning of high-quality development impact can be understood by analyzing the connotation of high-quality development and impact, as well as exploring the discerning relationship between high-quality development and impact. This article suggests a framework of high-quality development impact, argues that can be divided into five aspects: economic impact, ecological impact, cultural impact, governance impact and social impact, and puts forward relevant advice on upgrading high-quality development impact.","PeriodicalId":192859,"journal":{"name":"SOCIO ECONOMY AND POLICY STUDIES","volume":"36 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-04-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132905688","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

At the beginning of the pandemic period in the second quarter of 2020, the GDP of all agricultural sector businesses experienced positive growth and the food crop sub-sector made the largest contribution. On the other hand, employment in the agricultural sector decreased 0.42%. The purpose of this paper is to determine the effect of the Covid-19 pandemic on labor use and rice farming income in Kendal Regency. The effect of the use of labor is reflected in the input-output table. Income changes use a partial budget analysis. From the results of the analysis, it can be seen that the farmer’s income has decreased by Rp. 2,785,000 per ha. The decline in income was due to a 26% decrease in production. The decline in production is due to farmers reducing their use of fertilizers and medicines. During the pandemic, farmers reduced the use of outside labor from 87% to 69%. In order to reduce farmers’ losses, it is recommended that the government help provide input production facilities which are distributed directly to farmers, and reduce crowds by increasing the availability and use of agricultural tools (mechanization).","PeriodicalId":192859,"journal":{"name":"SOCIO ECONOMY AND POLICY STUDIES","volume":"41 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-04-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114797054","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Out of them only 150 to 200 plant species are used by human beings and three of them are only rice ,wheat and maize (FAO 2011). About 84% of human diet and nutrition come from plants but human beings are more continuously consuming only a few different crops. Nepal ranks 49th in world for biodiversity richness. Among 577 cultivated species 484 are indigenous and 93 are introduced . About 85% of these cultivated crops are neglected and underutilized (Joshi et al., 2019). More than 83% of total cultivated area of Nepal is covered by just three crops i.e rice ,wheat and maize. In Nepal NUS are those crops species that are cultivated long time before but now being neglected and are not included in formal research and development. Such crops are Millet species such as Foxtail millet (Kaaguno) Proso millet (Chino), Taro (Pindaau), Sorghum (Junelo) etc. These crops are known for their high adaptability to changing climate, can be grown in marginal soil and harsh climatic condition. Beside their tolerance to abiotic stress these crops are nutritionally rich and play major role in combacting vitamin and micronutrient deficiency. The main aim of this paper is to review some of the important but neglected and underutilized crops species which have very important role in food and nutrition security.","PeriodicalId":192859,"journal":{"name":"SOCIO ECONOMY AND POLICY STUDIES","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-04-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131090479","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
