The new observer is obtained by combining a classical reduced-order observer for linear multivariable systems with unknown inputs and a full-order multiple observer for Takagi-Sugeno systems. The new observer has no existence condition due to a “while” loop and to the used techniques (coordinate change and QR decomposition). The main innovative idea behind its obtaining is to divide the multiple model into two parts: an unknown-input-free subsystem and an unknown-input-depending subsystem. For designing the system architecture usually, architecture frameworks are adopted that define a coherent set of viewpoints to represent the different concerns. Several architecture frameworks have been proposed in the literature that covers enterprise architecture, system architecture, and software architecture. Each of these frameworks can be used to model the architecture views of a system. On the other hand, each of these architecture frameworks also addresses concerns of different disciplines. For the system engineering who has to cope with different application domains, it is important to select the proper architecture framework that addresses the concerns of the related disciplines. Understanding the impacts of human activity on these systems requires an interconnected study linking people, institutions, communities, and electronic infrastructures to capture the hidden interdependencies, the unplanned vulnerabilities, and the sources of risk that may compromise the performance of the system as a whole. Sociotechnical systems need constant monitoring of their performance, and also need to have the ability to adjust themselves to anticipate and to respond to unforeseen situations that arise from the conjunction of several factors present in the context of their use, and thus, sustain their performance under expected and unexpected conditions. And the multiple Type-I censoring represents that all units in the life testing experiment are terminated at different times. First, the expert judgements are regarded as the prior information and how to determine the prior distribution of Weibull parameters is discussed. For completeness, the cases that there is only one and there are more than two expert judgements are both studied. Next, the posterior distribution of Weibull parameters is derived. As it is difficult to present the posterior distribution of reliability and closed-form for the Bayes estimation, an algorithm is proposed to generate the posterior samples of reliability based on the Monte Carlo Markov Chain (MCMC) method. And the Bayes estimation and credible interval for the reliability could be obtained according to these samples. Finally, an illustrative example is presented to show the application. This far-reaching connectivity of low power devices that are placed virtually anywhere is evolving a new things-based business model. This things-based business model has certain requirements such as long range, extended battery life and very low end point cost. LPWAN technologies have successfully addressed these IoT requirements and are receiving wider acceptance in the IoT industry. In most LPWAN technologies, two main alternative communication techniques, Ultra Narrow Band (UNB) and Spread Spectrum (SS) are used at the physical layer. However, the greatest dilemma is the selection of the most suitable technique from UNB and SS for LPWAN. This paper addresses this selection dilemma of UNB and SS by examining some of the most critical factors responsible for the performance of LPWAN technologies such as interference, capacity, link budget and coexistence. This evaluation have been coupled with analytical methods and/or simulation tools. However, no system theoretical complexity (STC) have been proposed as a driver to these Structural and multidisciplinary optimization algorithms. Contrary to theoretical computer science where theoretical complexity is a mature field used to select the most adequate techniques to solve computer science problems no theoretical foundation exist in system engineering to accurately assess system complexity of multidisciplinary systems and in particular multiphysics systems. In this paper, we will examine several complexity metrics, which are based on the concepts of connectivity, distance, transitivity and centrality and we will extract the most appropriate ones. Our metric analysis on different network models prove that these measures alone are unable to understand all the information about complex systems properties and to distinguish networks structurally. In this paper, we will suggest a novel method including spatial constraints and the most appropriate structural metrics that it is able to quantify networks better than the metrics proposed today. Modeling and Simulation (M&S) methodologies and tools can be usefully exploited to address this complexity and support the design of SoSs, so as to allow specialists to perform a more detailed and targeted analysis before the SoSs integration phase. Significant benefits may derive from Distributed Simulation (DS) and the IEEE 1516-2010 - High Level Architecture (HLA), which represents a well-known and widely used DS standard. Unfortunately, the standard does not define a graphical representation through which it is possible to express both the DS and HLA core concepts without ambiguity. To deal with this aspect, the Business Process Model and Notation (BPMN) standard represents a feasible solution since it provides a graphical notation based on a flowcharting technique that is used to easily specify business processes in a standard way. The growing amount of driving assistance functions increases the complexity of mechanical, electronic and software systems. Distributed and interdisciplinary automotive design teams are mostly specialized in subsystems. Therefore, the overall passenger car view can get out of focus. Effects of local changes and design decisions on the overall passenger car could be underrated. Conflicts and unresolved cross-cutting issues may arise. An integrated UML model-based description for the overall passenger car development is proposed in this paper, facilitating specification analysis based on the Acceleo Query Language (AQL). We show how model analysis can then be automated to improve design model quality and reduce or detect unintended side effects of design changes. The proposed methodology supports traceability of design artifacts in a systematic way. It has been prototypically implemented as an extension of Eclipse. Verification activities provide evidence that the system under development does what it was anticipated to do. In acquisition programs, verification activities provide evidence of contractual fulfilment. In fact, a major financial portion of system development is spent towards designing and executing a verification strategy. However, the design of verification strategies in current practice is often prescribed by standards and driven by good practices and gut feeling. Quantitative approaches to design verification strategies could yield significant improvement to their effectiveness and coverage. Understanding how verification contributes to a system's expected utility is necessary to enable such transformation. First, key definitions and concepts are presented for those unfamiliar with the specialty domain of Systems Security Engineering (SSE). Next, a tailorable SSE curriculum is provided to further promote the institutionalization and standardization of SSE across a wide variety of stakeholders, security specialties, and engineering disciplines. The goal of the curriculum is for students to gain increased understanding of SSE roles, responsibilities, and concepts, as well as, gain familiarity with established SSE processes, activities, and tasks to more purposefully develop secure and resilient systems.
