The earthquake events occurred in an area under the South Atlantic Magnetic Anomaly. The results pointed out that the cyclicity of earthquakes is independent of external factors and linked to internal unknown changes traced or associated with the lithosphere and upper mantle. The malleable minerals or unbreakable material could be due to a bulge of water between the two Nazca slabs sinking. The periodicity noticed from some events is opposite to the Solar Cycles, which means they enhance during the minima of cycles. Therefore, we concluded that these variations might be linked to internal causes below the crust into the lithosphere.","PeriodicalId":19083,"journal":{"name":"Natural Science","volume":"116 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135612135","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

One of the efforts to achieve environmental literacy is implementing environmental education. The research is focused on efforts to know 1) environmental literacy profile of students in green open space; 2) Hypothetical models for effective environmental learning based on student profile findings. This research is a type of descriptive research. The research subject is students of Junior High School (SMPN) 2 Suayan in the 2020/2021 school year. Total sample is 70 students. Test is used to measure students’ environmental literacy for the domain of knowledge. Non-tests is used to measure attitude and behavior domains. The number of questions/statements is 45 items with 15 questions/ statements for each domain. The average score for environmental literacy for these 3 domains is 77,1 % and is interpreted high. Based on literature and interview, high environmental literacy scores of students are at least influenced by two factors, namely 1) the implementation of environmental education in schools 2) students who are always exposed to green open spaces. Furthermore, based on this result, it is proposed a hypothetical model for the effective implementation of environmental.","PeriodicalId":19083,"journal":{"name":"Natural Science","volume":"22 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-03-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"74193017","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This study to analyze students' perceptions of online learning in junior high schools, so that they can provide benefits for the implementation of better learning in the future. This study applies a survey method with a quantitative approach. This study applies a cluster sampling technique with class VIII-I students of SMP Negeri 1 Tempeh Lumajang as research subjects. The data collection technique use a questionnaire. The results showed that the percentage of students' perceptions of online learning in science subjects was 70% and could be categorized as good. All students use smartphones to support for online learning with the Google Classroom and WhatsApp platforms. During online learning, students have difficulty with materials on the circulatory system, excretory system, respiratory system, vibration, waves, and optics, light and optical instruments, pressure of substances, and simple machines. Constraints experienced by students during online learning are internet signal, cellular data package quotas and Wi-Fi. Students are less interested in online learning because interaction with the teacher is only done virtually and cannot digest the explanation of the material by the teacher.","PeriodicalId":19083,"journal":{"name":"Natural Science","volume":"25 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-03-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"88245907","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Descriptive method is used to describe the current condition of students’ Nature of Science (NOS) after science lesson on interaction of organisms and its environemnet topic conducted in the class. The data in this research is gained through constructed response item test that is given without any academics treatment before. The result shows that the tentative Nature of Science (NOS) aspect is the most achieved by the students, while creative and imaginative nature of scientific knowledge possess the least. This research suggested the teachers to execute learning activity that cover the entire aspects of Nature of Science (NOS).","PeriodicalId":19083,"journal":{"name":"Natural Science","volume":"121 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-03-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"76750222","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
