Bubak","doi":"10.36228/pj.10/2019.9","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.36228/pj.10/2019.9","url":null,"abstract":"In this text the author presents the problem of the impact of migration movements on Hungarian culture, society, its behavior towards strangers, visitors and representatives of other nationalities. Hungary after the collapse of the communist system experienced several times the wave of refugees who, in search of a better or safer life, reached the Danube. First, they were newcomers from the former Soviet Union and disintegrating Yugoslavia, later economic immigrants from Asia, and recently escapees from war zones in Syria or Libya. Each time a clash of cultures, a meeting of representatives of different nationalities led to the confrontation of stereotypes with reality. Hungarian filmmakers have often been fascinated by these phenomena, in their films they showed the impact of these events on the perception of reality, understanding by the Hungarians the surrounding world, they presented reactions of their countrymen: from hostility, indifference, compassion and to willingness to help. Secondly, the study critically introduces three questions which author considers as problematic in the contemporary ethical discourse on public life: who is the subject of public life, who carries the responsibility for the decisions made in public discourse, and how subject appears in it. Piekarski","doi":"10.36228/pj.9/2019.6","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.36228/pj.9/2019.6","url":null,"abstract":"Feliks Koneczny also pursued his own research interests in the field of history ALSO by gradually moving to the “top floor” of this history, just comparative studies on civilizations. Already relatively early, as before Poland regained an independent state, he undertook issues in the field of historiosophy. In the 1920s, however, it HE gradually began to build the edifice of its HIS own theory of civilization. It is interesting to follow the process by IN which he developed this own pioneer in many respects and the original concept of many civilizations. We argue that the first outline and basis of his pluralistic vision of civilization arose precisely in the 1920s, and in particular in the two-volume work Polskie Logos and Ethos. The reading of this book also now, on the 60th anniversary of the death of its author, clearly shows that Koneczny’s comparative research on civilizations and the theory that emerged from them WAS rooted in an ambitious attempt to understand the logic of Polish history from the times preceding the loss of independence to the moment of its recovery. Careful reading of the Polish Logos and Ethos allows to capture the hidden logic of these histories, along with its deeper dimension.
